WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Military Checkpoints

At 17:00, Israeli forces closed Qalandiya Military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic for allegedly finding a unidentified object in the area then reopened it at a later time.

Flying Checkpoints

At 22;00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Anata town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 12:00 and again at 01:00, Israeli forces raided Hizma town, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several merchant shops then forced several shop owners to close down their stores.
2. At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Anata town and stormed a vehicle maintenance shop.
3. At 01:45, Israeli forces raided Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem city, closed all the entrances to the camp thus prevented residents from entering or exiting the camps and proceeded to stormed and searched several homes and detained 8 residents.

Detention

1. On January 16th 2017, Israeli forces positioned at Bab Al-Amoud area in the old city of Jerusalem detained Harith Ibrahim Awad.
2. At 11:15, Israeli forces detained Mansour Abu Gharbiya near Salah Al-Din road in the old city of Jerusalem.
3. At dawn on January 17th 2017, Israeli forces detained Nadiya Abu Jamal in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
4. Israeli forces detained 8 residents: Ehab Mohammad Suliman, Ameer Al-Sheikh Ali, Ward Al-Shiekh Ali, Mohammad Al-Fasfous, Issa Mohammad Ali, Issa Darbas, Mohammad Jabri and Usayed Hassan Ali in Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem city.

Attack

At 12:00, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Hizma town.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

1.At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beitin village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 22:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah town bridge then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 04:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes then detained 2 residents.

Detention

1. At 02:45 on January 16th 2017, Israeli forces detained Yazan Jad Zaki Mansour during their raid into Al-Bireh city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
2. At 12:10, Israeli forces positioned at "Al-Mahkama" checkpoint near "Bet El" settlement in North Al-Bireh city detained Mohammad Thiyab Al-Shafqan {A resident of Al-Aroub camp in Hebron District}.
3. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Ahmad Adnan Al-Qansh and Mu'tasim Al-Shiekh Yusef in Al-Jalazoun camp.

Attack

At 04:40, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Al-Jalazoun camp.

JENIN

Raid

At dawn on January 17th 2017, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya town, stormed and searched several home, detained 5 residents, assaulted Mohammad Tayseer Kameel and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 5 residents: Rambo Ghassan Alawneh, Ahmad Damnahouri Kameel, Jasser Tayseer Kameel, Mohammad Malik Kameel and Mohammad Khaled Kameel in Qabatiya town.

Physical Assault

At dawn on January 17th 2017, Israeli forces assaulted Mohammad Tayseer Kameel and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions during their raid into Qabatiya town.

TUBAS

Raid

At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Far'a camp, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:00.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Waqad Waleel in Al-Far'a camp.

Confiscation of Property

1. At 09:20, Israeli forces confiscated 2 agricultural tractors owned by Nimer Musa Nasr Al-Haroub and Muthqal Fayez Ahmad Naghaghya as they stormed Khirbeit Ibziq village.
2. At 10:20, Israeli forces confiscated a truck owned by Hussien Ibrahim Mahmoud Daraghmeh in Khirbeit Yarza village.
3. At 10:55, Israeli forces confiscated a drivers license and Identification card owned by Nash'at Mahmoud Salah Sawafta in the North Jordan valley area.

TULKAREM

Settlers Attacks

At 21:05, a group of Israeli settlers from "Avnei Hefetz" settlement stormed the entrance of Shufat village thus blocking the entrance and restricting residents from entering or exiting the village then withdrew at 21:50.

QALQILIYA

Raid

At 10:20, Israeli forces raided Azzun town.

Destruction of Property

At 11:30, Israeli forces uprooted several Olive tress as they levelled agricultural land in Azzun town and Al-Nabi Eliyas and Izbit Al-Tabib villages for the purpose of constructing a settlement road.

NABLUS

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 16:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near "Shave Shamron" settlement then searched residents and vehicles until 16:50.
2. At 20:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Nablus city and Assira Al-Shamaliya then searched residents and vehicles until 21:25.
3. At 21:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Assira Al-Qibliya and Burin villages then searched residents and vehicles until 23:25.

Detention

At 02:45 on January 16th 2017, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Alaa Sayil Ribhi Hassan and Ribhi Sayil Ribhi Hassan during their raid into Qusra village.

Temporary Detention

At 15:45, Israeli forces positioned near Azmout village temporarily detained Nimr Ahmad Allawna {A resident of Azzoun village} then released him at a later time.

SALFIT

Raid

At 24:00, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik town, stormed and searched 4 homes, temporarily detained Mujahid Abdel-Raheem Al-Dik then released him at a later time and withdrew at 05:00.

Temporary Detention

At 24:00, Israeli forces temporarily detained Mujahid Abdel-Raheem Al-Dik during their raid into Kafr Al-Dik town then released him at a later time.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 11:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Teqou' town then searched residents and vehicles until 12:00.
2. At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar town then searched residents and vehicles until 17:00.
3. At 22:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hasnah area located near Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 23:30.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 16th 2017, Israeli forces raided Husan village, detained a child, clashed with several residents as they stormed a home then withdrew at 23:30.
2. At 14:00, Israeli forces raided Teqou' town, clashed with several residents and as a result killed the child: Qusay Hassan Mohammad Al-Amour {17 years old} and left 3 resident: Omar Thiyab Mahmoud Al-Amour, Muneer Dakhlallah Ahmad Al-Amour and Mahmoud Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Amour injured and again at 04:00 raided the area and detained a National Security forces officer after storming and searching his home.
3. At 14:15, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, clashed with several residents after storming and searching a mosque then withdrew at 16:00.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Sami Amer Mohammad Sabatin {A resident of Husan village}
2. Israeli forces detained the child Obieda Adel Daoud Al-Sha'er {15 years old} in Husan village}.
3. Israeli forces detained Dakhlalah Habas Al-Amour in Teqou' town.

Attack

1. At 14:00, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result killed the child Qusay Hassan Mohammad Al-Amour {17 years old} and left 3 resident: Omar Thiyab Mahmoud Al-Amour, Muneer Dakhlallah Ahmad Al-Amour and Mahmoud Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Amour injured during their raid into Teqou' town.
2. At 14:15, Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched a mosque during their raid into Beit Fajjar town
3. At 22:20, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched a home during their raid into Husan village.

Killings

Israeli forces opened fire towards and killed the child Qusay Hassan Mohammad Al-Amour {17 years old} during their raid into Teqou' town.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured 3 resident: Omar Thiyab Mahmoud Al-Amour, Muneer Dakhlallah Ahmad Al-Amour and Mahmoud Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Amour as they clashed with residents during their raid into Teqou' town.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 14:15, Israeli forces stormed and searched a mosque during their raid into Beit Fajjar town.

HEBRON

Raid

1. At dawn on January 17th 2017, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town and detained a resident after storming his home during their raid into Beit Ummar town.
2. At dawn on January 17th 2017, Israeli forces raided Yatta town and detained a resident.
3. At dawn on January 17th 2017, Israeli forces raided Ithna town and detained 2 residents.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Muhyi Falah Abu Mariya in Beit Ummar town.
2. Israeli forces detained Rahib Yusef Mughanam in Yatta town.
3. Israeli forces detained Harith Ibrahim Tumayzi and Safwat Jihad Tumayzi in Ithna town.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
•Israeli military forces broke the ceasefire by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North District.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza and Gaza Districts.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination

Attack

1. At 0745 on January 16th 2017, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town then temporarily detained 3 fishermen and released them after confiscating their fishing boat.
2. At 08:00 on January 16th 2017, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in Jabaliya camp.
3. At 09:00 on January 16th 2017, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

Temporary Detention

Israeli forces temporarily detained 3 fishermen: Imad Mahmoud Siyam, Anas Imad Siyam and Mohammad Khalid Abu Diya off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town then released them at a later time.

Confiscation of Property

At 07:45 on January 16th 2017, Israeli Naval forces confiscated a fishing boat after chasing it off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town then temporarily detained 3 fishermen.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Attack

At 10:10 on January 16th 2017, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Gaza city.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.
