WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Detention

On January 17th 2017, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Wissam Awisat and Yasseen Bassam Qunbar in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 10:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Military Checkpoints

On January 18th 2017, Israeli forces closed "Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint located near "Bet El" settlement located in North Al-Bireh city and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 12:20, Israeli forces raided Bir Ziet town and detained a resident.

Detention

1. At 17:45, Israeli forces detained 3 children: Issam Nimer Nassar {17 years old}, Omar Ali Yusef Abu Zied {17 years old} and Abdel-Azziz Shwikat Nassar {17 years old} {All are residents of Deir Qaddis village}.
2. Israeli forces detained Ahmad Mustafa Yusef Zied in Bir Ziet town.

JENIN

Detention

1. At 14:35 on January 19th 2017, Israeli forces detained Osama Waleed Jaber Qaddus {A resident of Burin village in Nablus District} as he was attending his relatives trials at "Salem" Military Base.
2. On January 19th 2017, Israeli forces positioned at Barta'a checkpoint detained Mohammad Yunis Sabihat {A resident of Rumana village}.

TUBAS

Military Checkpoints

At 08:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Tayassir Military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 09:30, Israeli forces raided Tammoun town and detained a resident.

Detention

1.At 16:40, Israeli forces positioned in Ein Al-Bayda village located in the North Jordan valley detained Bassam Ahmad Mahmoud Fuqaha after the stormed his farm and confiscated 40 sacks of agricultural fertilizer.
2. Israeli forces detained Rami Na'im Hafith Massaid in Tammun town.

Confiscation of Property

At 16:40, Israeli forces confiscated 40 sacks of agricultural fertilizer owned by Bassam Ahmad Mahmoud Fuqaha as they detained him after storming his farm located in Ein Al-Bayda village located in the North Jordan valley .

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 17:35, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at "Enav" military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 19:20.

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Bazariya village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 01:00.

Raid

At 09:45, Israeli forces raided Deir Al-Ghussun town, clashed with several residents then temporarily detained Mahmoud Mohammad Rabay'a and released him at a alter time then withdrew at 10:40.

Temporary Detention

At 09:45, Israeli forces temporarily detained Mohammad Mahmoud Raba'ya during their raid into Deir Al-Ghussoun village and released him at a later time.

Attack

At 09:45, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Deir Al-Ghosoun town.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Azzun town and Izbit Al-Tabib village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 12:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Jinsafut village then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 15:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Jayyous and Azzun towns then searched residents and vehicles.
4. At 16:40 and again at 00:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqilya city then searched residents and vehicles.

Detention

At 01:50 on January 19th 2017, Israeli forces detained Shaher Hisham Mustafa Adwan during their raid into Azzun town in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.

NABLUS

Military Checkpoints

At 18:20, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 19:20.

Flying Checkpoints

At 10:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village {along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem Districts} then searched residents and vehicles until 13:15.

Raid

At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Burin village.

Detention

.At 15:30, Israeli forces positioned near "Brachat" settlement located in south Nablus city detained 4 residents: Jallal Atta Ammar {A Palestinian Police officer}, Hamad Mustafa Ammar, Loia Hamad Mustafa Ammar and Mohammad Subhi Mansour.

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 20:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Iskaka village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 21:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Yassuf village then searched resident and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 08:00, Israeli forces raided Rafat village.
2. At 15:50, Israeli forces raided Bidya town.
3. At 20:35, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik town until 01:30.
4. At 21:30, Israeli forces raided Yassuf village until 22:50.
5. At 23:45, Israeli forces raided Bruqin town until 01:30.
6. At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Salfit city , clashed with several residents then withdrew at 02:50.

Attack

At 01:00, Israeli forces fired stun grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Salfit city.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 17:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahour city then searched residents and vehicles until 19:30.
2. At 19:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Nahallin village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.
3. At 21:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Teqou' town then searched residents and vehicles until 23:30.

Raid

1. At 20:15, Israeli forces raided Husan village, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 21:50.
2. At dawn on January 20th 2017, Israeli forces raided Teqou' town and detained a National Security Force officer after storming and searching his home.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Tamer Saleem Abdel-Badin {A National Security Force officer} in Teqou' town.

Attack

1. At 09:00, Israeli forces positioned in Wadi Al-Hums area located in east Bethlehem city opened fire towards the child Ahmad Abdel-Raziq Khalil Farihat {16 years old} {A resident of Hebron city} and as a result left him hospitalized.
2. At 20:15, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Husan village.

Injuries

Israeli forces opened fire towards the child Ahmad Abdel-Raziq Khalil Farihat {16 years old} {A resident of Hebron city}in Wadi Al-Hums area located in east Bethlehem city and as a result left him hospitalized.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 19th 2017, Israeli forces raided Tarqumiya town and detained 2 residents.
2. At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Al-Arroub camp and clashed with several residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Waleed Abdallah Ja'afra and Majdi Waleed Abdallah Ja'afra in Tarqumiya town.

Attack

At 02:50, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Arub camp.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• • Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

•Israeli military forces broke the ceasefire by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Khan Yunis and Rafah Districts.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza District.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 09:45 on January 19th 2017, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 07:25 on January 19th 2017, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Qarara town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.

Attack

At 08:00 on January 19th 2017, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land near Sufa Crossing point located in north east Rafah city.
