Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh receives French Consul General Nicolas Kassianides and briefs him on political developments and the need to stabilize the ceasefire

HE Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Vice President of the State of Palestine, received the French Consul General, Nicolas Kassianides, at his office. They raised several issues such as the internal reform measures and the leadership’s practical actions to that end. HE Al Sheikh also emphasized the importance of international support, particularly from the French Republic, in rebuilding the state and its institutions, consolidating the immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and providing urgent relief and humanitarian support to the population of the Gaza Strip. The upcoming French-Saudi conference in June was also discussed, as part of the international action towards implementing the two-state solution. The CG Mr. Kassianides conveyed his country's full support for the establishment and appointment of a Vice President of the State of Palestine, and extended his congratulations on His Excellency appointment as VP.
