Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh welcomes Belgium and the Netherlands’ decision to ban imports of illegal Israeli settlement products

Ramallah – 22 July 2026 – His Excellency Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, welcomed the decision of both Belgium and the Netherlands to ban the import of illegal Israeli settlement products.

Al Sheikh considered it an important step that aligns with international law and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, as well as UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which affirmed the illegitimacy of settlements, and the resolutions of international legitimacy.

In the same context, Al Sheikh called on all countries to take similar measures to hold the Israeli occupation and its escalatory and illegal policies on the territory of the occupied State of Palestine accountable. In addition to taking more effective steps to stop settler terrorism, which has crossed all boundaries, targeting the lives, trees, and property of Palestinian citizens.
