Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh Condemns the Colombian Government’s Opening of an "Embassy" in Occupied Jerusalem
Ramallah—October 14, 2026—In a statement issued Wednesday, His Excellency Hussein Al Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, condemned the Colombian government’s opening of an “embassy” in occupied Jerusalem, the capital of the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders.
Al Sheikh added: “We view this as a measure that flagrantly disregards international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, and violates the special legal and historical status of the Holy City.”
Al Sheikh called upon the international community to shoulder its legal responsibilities and confront measures aimed at altering the identity of Jerusalem, as well as its historical and legal status, in a manner that upholds the rights of the Palestinian people and preserves the prospects for achieving a just and lasting peace.
