Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh meets with Saudi Crown Prince and PM, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman and discusses the latest developments in Palestine

Jeddah, May 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein Al Sheikh, met with Saudi Crown Prince and PM, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Al Sheikh conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his loyal Crown Prince. He also extended the gratitude of the State of Palestine and its people to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its brotherly people for their continued support for our people and just cause at all levels.

During the meeting, held at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Thursday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh discussed developments in Palestine, ways to enhance joint action to support the Palestinian cause, and coordinate positions on the international stage in support of Palestinian rights.

The Palestinian Vice President thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its efforts, in coordination with France, the European Union, our Arab brothers, and the relevant international parties in the Global Coalition, to hold the international peace conference scheduled to be held in New York next June. This conference aims to garner recognition of the State of Palestine and its full membership at the UN, paving the way for a political process that will end the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

From the Saudi side, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah attended. From the Palestinian side, the President's Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Dr. Majdi Al-Khalidi, the Head of the General Authority of Civil Affairs, Ayman Qandil, and the Chief of Staff of the Vice President, Ayah AlMuhisin, attended.
