Daily Report January 09, 2016

(i) On January 1st 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.
(iii) On November 16th 2015, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem, which leads to “Armon Hantsiv” settlement with cement blocks.

(i) On January 8th 2016, Israeli forces detained Malik Abu Adham in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
(ii) At 00:30, Israeli forces detained Tamer Diya Al-Sharabati (A resident of Hebron) near Al-Ram junction.

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) . On October 3rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road located near “Bet El” settlement and leading to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks.
(iii) Since November 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Sinjil and the east entrance of Al-Mughier village with cement blocks.
(iv) At 18:50 on December 4th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Abboud with cement blocks.
(v) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.

(i) At 11:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya roundabout then searched residents and vehicles until 12:30.
(ii) At 11:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Silwad and Ain Yabroud then searched residents and vehicles until 12:30.

At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Surda village and demolished {using explosive detonation} the family home of Muhanad Al-Halabi during which they clashed with several residents then withdrew at 03:45.

At 14:50, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Janniya village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
(ii) Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.

At dawn on January 9th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Yamoun, detained a resident after storming and searching his home.

Israeli forces detained Haroun Rashid Abu Al-Hija in Al-Yamoun village.

At 14:10, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

: At 14:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Lid then searched residents and vehicles.

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
(iv) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate

At 12:30, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site.

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

At 14:10, Israeli forces closed Huwarah checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:00.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian, which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
(iii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

(i) At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the Dead Sea junction then searched residents and vehicles until 11:35.
(ii) At 15:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 16:45.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
(vi) Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
(vii) Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
(viii) On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
(ix) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(x) At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xi) At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xii) At 18:00 on November 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Bararat junction located in Ras area in Beit Jallah with cement blocks.
(xiii) At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.

At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village located at the east entrance of Beit Sahur then searched residents and vehicles until 08:50.

(i) On the morning of January 8th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya and summoned Bassam Jamal Shantiya to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(ii) At 13:50, Israeli forces raided Nihalin village until 14:20.
(iii) At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Marah Rabah village, stormed several homes and summoned two residents: Khalil Qassim Mohammad Al-0Shiekh and Fadi Mahmoud Taqatqa then withdrew at 01:25.
(iv) At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem and stormed a home.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
