Demonstrations

• On January 9th 2018,Mass rallies were launched in all cities and towns in all districts, rejecting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem. The participants in the marches stressed that the decision will not change the situation Which is protected by international resolutions and laws as an occupied Palestinian city, and that Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian people and its independent state.

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Duqqu village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 21:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Eizariya town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 22:00, Israeli forces raided Hizma town and clashed with several residents.
2. At 23:55, Israeli forces raided Biddu town and assaulted a resident.

Detention

At 10:30, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Bidawi Qawas {a resident of the old city of Jerusalem}.

Attack

1. At 20:55, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Ras Kabsa area located in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

2. At 22:00, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Hizma town.

Physical Assault

At 23:55, Israeli forces assaulted Mohammad Abdel-Rahim Ahmad Dar Ayash as he was standing in front of his home during their raid into Biddu town and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

Assaults on Property

At 10:30, Israeli Police forces stormed Al-Dar Hotel located in Al-Shiekh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem city and prevented a press conference titled "But the world should hear the cry of Jerusalem" which was being held by Akrama Sabri and Archbishop-Attallah Hannah.

Destruction of Property

At 09:30, Israeli forces demolished the wall of the Yusufiya cemetery located adjacent to Bab Al-Abssat gate (one of the gates leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque) and conducted excavation work in the area.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 11:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.

Settlement Activities

On January 8th 2018, Israeli authorities permitted excavation work in Wadi Al-Rababa area in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem in order to implement plans for the construction of a Bridge {approximately 179 Meters long and 30 Meters High} which would connect Al-Thuri neighborhood with Al-Nabi Daud area.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Military Checkpoints

At 13:35, Israeli forces closed "Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint located near "Bet El" settlement in North Al-Bireh city and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at a later time.

Flying Checkpoints

At 17:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Silwad town then searched residents and vehicles until 21:20.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces raided Beit Liqya town, stormed several homes and detained a resident.
2. At 11:45, Israeli forces raided Beitin village until 12:40.
3. At 04:50, Israeli forces raided Ramallah city and Al-Amari camp in Al-Bireh city and detained 3 residents in Al-Amari camp in Al-Bireh city.

Detention

1. On January 9th 2018, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Sinjil town detained Hiba Abu Riziq {A resident of Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city}.
2. Israeli forces detained Jaber Al-Jamal in Beit Liqya town.
3. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammed Anwar al-Muhseiri, Jihad Abu Humaid, and Tahib Issa al-Tirmsani in Al-Amari camp in Al-Bireh city.

Attack

1. At 12:40, Israeli forces positioned at "Al-Mahkama" Military checkpoint near Bet El settlement in North Al-Bireh city fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators protesting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem.

Settlers Attacks

At 22:55, Israeli settlers positioned at Beitin village roundabout stoned residents and vehicles and as a result damaged the windshield of a vehicle owned by Mahmoud Abu Jum'a then withdrew at 23:45.

JENIN

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 18:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Jalqamus village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:30.
2. At 20:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Abu Da'if village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:20.

Raid

1. At 06:30 on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya town and detained a resident.
2. At dawn on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces raided Arraba town and detained a resident.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Imad Hassan Akmil in Qabatiya town.
2. Israeli forces detained Yazan Mughier in Arraba town.

TUBAS

Detention

On January 9th 2018, Israeli forces detained Ali Abdel-Raziq Qassam Abu Arrat {A Palestinian Police officer}{A resident of Aqaba town}.

Settlement Activities

On January 9th 2018, Israeli Military authorized the construction of a road {3 KM in length} which connects "Ro'i" settlement and residential land in Al-Adilat area in Khirbiet Humsat Al-Foqa in the North Jordan valley.

TULKAREM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 18:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Shufa village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 21:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Lid town junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 10:15,Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city, stormed a sweets shop, temporarily detained its employees then released them at a later time.

Detention

At 02:30 on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces raided Nasser Nabil Ahmad Bararat during their raid into Tulkarem city.

Settlers Attacks

At 23:30, Israeli settlers positioned near Beit Lid town junction stoned residents and vehicles and as a result left a resident hospitalized with contusions.

Injuries

Azziz Bassam Azziz Dweikat {A resident of Balata Camp in Nablus city} was injured after Israeli settlers stoned his vehicle near Beit Lid town junction and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 09:40 and again at 20:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya city then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 17:20 and again at 21:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 20:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hablat tunnel {located at the south entrance of Qalqiliya city} then searched residents and vehicles.
4. At 21:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Azzun town bridge {located along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Nablus} then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At dawn on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces raided Jayyous town and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Abdel-Jabbar Salim in Jayyous town.

NABLUS

Military Checkpoints

At 20:15, Israeli forces closed Beit Furiq and Huwara Military checkpoints {after a shooting incident which killed a Israeli settler near Sarah and Jit village junction} and as a result impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening them at a later time.

Raid

1.At dawn on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq town and detained a resident.
2. At dawn on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces raided Aqraba town and detained a resident.
3. At 11;30, Israeli forces raided Zuwata village until 13:15.
4. At 20:15, Israeli forces raided Nablus city, Beit Wazan, Tel Burin Sarah and Assira Al-Qibliya villages {after a shooting incident which killed a Israeli settler near Sarah and Jit village junction} clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes in Tel and Sarah villages , detained a resident in Tel village then withdrew at 01:20.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Khaldoun Zahi Khatatba in Beit Furiq town.
2. Israeli forces detained Abdel-Rahman Ghassan Na'im Abu Shihab in Aqraba town.
3. Israeli forces detained Tamer Taher in Tel village.

Attack

1. At 15:55, Israeli forces positioned in Jabal Al-Qa'dat area located in south Beit Furiq town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 20:15, Israeli forces fired fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Tel and Sara village.

Temporary Detention

At 13:15, Israeli forces positioned near Deir Al-Hatab village temporarily detained 3 {Palestine Television news crew journalists}:Bakr Abdul Haq, Samer Habash and Abdullah Sualma as they were reporting on settler violence in the area then released them at 14:15.

Closure of main Roads

At 20:15, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting {Tel and Burin villages} and a bypass road near "Yisthar" settlement and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Settlers Attacks

1. At 12:20, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near the bypass road near "Yitshar" settlement stoned residents and vehicles and as a result damaged the vehicle of Nasser Salem Al-Qadi then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
2. On the evening of January 9th 2018, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles then assaulted sever residents and as a result left them injured with fractures and contusion, damaged 4 vehicles owned by Mufid Yacoub {Resident of Qalandiya Camp in Jerusalem district}, Ayman Farouk Abdat {Resident of Awarta Village}, Alaa Al Issawi and Muhannad Ismail.

Injuries

Israeli settlers positioned at Huwara town assaulted and injured Dr. Mufid Yacoub (wounded) - resident of Qalandiya camp in Jerusalem, and Ayman Farouk Abdat (hand fracture) - resident of Awarta village.

SALFIT

Military Checkpoints

At 20:15, Israeli forces closed Za'tara Military checkpoint {after a shooting incident which killed a Israeli settler near Sarah and Jit village junctions} and as a result impeded the free flow of traffic.

Detention

JERICHO

Raid

1. At 07:30 on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces raided Jericho city as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers as they visited a Synagogue then withdrew at 10:00.
2. At 00:45 on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces raided Jericho city, clashed with several resiednts as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured 2 residents, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 01:45.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 residents : Mohammad Khamis Barahama and Ahmad Khamis Barahama in Jericho city.

Attack

At 00:45 on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Jericho city and as a result injured 2 residents.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured 2 residents: Ayman Nawaf Brahman and Ahmad Bassam Al-Muqti during clashes in Jericho city.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 10:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the bypass road near Teqou' town then searched residents and vehicles until 12:55.
2. At 18:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Nashash area {located at the south entrance of Bethlehem city} then searched residents and vehicles until 20:05.

Detention

At 18:500, Israeli forces detained Rajwab Ibdeir {A resident of Beit Jallah city}.

Attack

1. At 11:40, Israeli forces positioned at Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem city fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 16:35, Israeli forces positioned near the west entrance of Teqou' town fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as s result injured a resident and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Injuries

1. Israeli forces injured Farid al-Atrash {after he was stuck by a stun canisters} during clashes near Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem city.
2. Israeli forces injured Qusay Mohammad Al-Amour during clashes near the west entrance of Teqou' town.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 09:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Al-Samou' town then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 12:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Fuwar junction and detained a resident.
3. At 13:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bani Na'im town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 16:30, Israeli forces raided Ithna town and stormed a home.
2. At dawn on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, stormed and searched several homes, confiscated half a kilo of gold and a sum of cash from the home of Jassim Khieri Abu Rajab.
3. At dawn on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya town and detained a resident.

Detention

1. Israeli forces positioned at a checkpoint near Al-Fuwar junction detained Anas Hassan Mohammed Sabayha {Resident of Fawwar Camp}.
2. Israeli forces detained Shahjat Suliman Jabarin in Al-Thahriya town.

Attack

1.On the afternoon of January 9th 2018, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Shuhada road located in the old city of Hebron fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators protesting agianst and rejecting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem and as a result left several demonstrates suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
2. At 20:55, Israeli forces positioned at a Military watch tower located in Al-Sabihat area in Halhul town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Confiscation of Property

At dawn on January 10th 2018, Israeli forces confiscated half a kilo of gold and a sum of cash from the home of Jassim Khieri Abu Rajab during their raid into Hebron city.

Settlers Attacks

At 21:40, Israeli forces positioned near "Talim" settlement located near bypass road (35) and stoned residents and vehicles.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza stripe and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah.

•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Khan Yunis and Rafah Districts and as a result injured 2 residents.
•Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza district.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 08:00 on January 9th 2018, Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town , detained 6 fishermen {including 2 children} and confiscated their fishing boat.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 6 fishermen {including 2 children}:Ahmed Mounir al-Saidi {45 years old}, Mu'men Jamal Hassan al-Numan {25 years old}, Mohammed Awad Munir al-Saidi {10 years old}, Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Jiyab {23 years old}, Akram Mohammed Ismael Abu Foul {34 years old}, Mohammed Akram Mohammed Abu Foul {11 ​​years old}{All residents are from Shati' camp in Gaza City) off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town

Confiscation of Property

Israeli Naval forces confiscated a fishing boat owned by Ahamd Awad Al-Sa'idi off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 14:00 on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several demonstrators in east Abbassan town and as a result injured a resident and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured a unidentified resident during clashes in east Abbsan town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.

Attack

At 16:00 on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several demonstrators in east Rafah city and as a result injured a resident.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured a unidentified resident during clashes in east Rafah city.
