Daily Report January 16, 2016

(i) On January 15th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.
(iii) On November 16th 2015, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem which leads to “Armon Hantsiv” settlement with cement blocks.

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

(i) At 14:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Eizariya then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 14:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Shahid roundabout in Al-Ram then searched residents and vehicles until 15:50.

(i) At 04:20 on January 15th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Abdel-Rahman Nabeel Badr and Wael Yunis Badr.
(ii) At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned at Shu’fat checkpoint detained Usayed Hamdan.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.

(i) At 15:40, Israeli forces raided Beituniya and detained 3 residents including a child.
(ii) At 16:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 17:00.

(i) At 14:30, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of “Ofar” Military Base/ Prison fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(ii) At 15:20, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp fired rubber coated steel bullets; stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured the child Alaa Ahmad Zied (15 years old).
(iii) At 15:20, Israeli forces positioned near the west entrance of Silwad fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(iv) At 15:20, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Budrous village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammad Ibrahim Shaker (17 years old), Hani Hisham Al-Farokh and Firas Nasr Muqabil in Beituniya.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
(ii) Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.

: At 09:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ya’bad, detained a Police officer then withdrew at 12:00.

(i) At 16:10, Israeli force raided Ya’bad, temporarily detained the child: Islam Atatrah (12 years old) then released him at 17:00.
(ii) At 16:45, Israeli forces raided Jalboun village.

Israeli forces detained Firas Hatem Amarneh {A Palestinian Police Force Officer} (A resident of Ya’bad) in Ya’bad.

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

At 15:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance Bazariya village junction located in east Anata then searched residents and vehicles until 17:20.

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
(iv) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate

At 16:30, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Jayyous fired rubber coated steel bullets stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

At 15:30, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site and as a result injured the child Mahmoud Hikmat Abdel-Mahdi Ali (17 years old).

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

At 13:35, Israeli forces closed Beit Furik checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 14:10.

(i) At 10:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beita then searched resident and vehicles.
(ii) At 13:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles until 14:10.

At 10:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Furik then stormed and searched 2 homes.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
(iii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
(vi) Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
(vii) Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
(viii) On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
(ix) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(x) At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xi) At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xii) At 18:00 on November 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Bararat junction located in Ras area in Beit Jallah with cement blocks.
(xiii) At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.

At 13:50, Israeli forces closed Al-Nafaq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at 15:40.

(i) At 08:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village located at the east entrance of Beit Sahur then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 16:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along the bypass road near Taqou’ then searched residents and vehicles.

(i) At 21:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, clashed with several and as a result, injured Abdallah Salah Al-Din Salah leaving him hospitalised.
(ii) At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Marah Rabah village, Yasser Ahmad Omar Al-Shiekhs home and summoned him to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iii) At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem, stormed two homes and summoned two resident: Mohammad Ibrahim Judah and Mohammad Ibrahim Hussien Hassan to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:40.
(iv) At 01:20, Israeli forces raided Za’tara village, stormed a home and summoned Salah Musa Thiyab to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.

(i) At 12:30, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 3 residents including a Child and a Journalist: Imad Ahmad Nuwarat (14 years old) and Safir Omar Mohammad Qa’awer (A journalist), Loia Jamal Mohammad Al-Sharif and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
(ii) At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Khadr fired rubber coasted steel bullets; stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured two Paramedics: Loia Al-Sharif and Fadi Ja’afra as well as shattering the ambulance windshield.
(iii) At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Beit Fajjar fired rubber coasted steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Adel Yacoub Dariya.
(iv) At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Taqou’ fired rubber coasted steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Dakhlalah Habis Al-Amour.

At 17:50, Israeli forces positioned near “Betar Eliyat” settlement temporarily detained Salah Mahmoud Izat Shakarneh (14 years old) {a resident of Nihalin} then released him at 19:55.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
(v) At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
(vi) At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
(vii) At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
(viii) At 15:45 on November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed Al-Samiya village junction located at the west entrance of Al-Samou’ with cement blocks.
(ix) On November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrances of Khliat Al-Miya and Al Dirat and the two bypass roads leading east Yatta with cement blocks.
(x) On November 23rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Al-Qom village located in North Beit Awwa with Cement blocks.
(xi) On December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed a checkpoint located along Al-Shuhada road located in the old city of Hebron and prevented residents from passing through the checkpoint and redirected traffic through a road near the entrance of Jabal Al-Rahma.
(xii) On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.

(i) At 08:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Aroub camp and impeded the free flow of traffic after closing the main entrance gate until reopening it at a later time.
(ii) At 10:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp and impeded the free flow of traffic after closing the main entrance gate until reopening it at a later time.

(i) At 13:15, Israeli forces raided Hebron and clashed with several residents.
(ii) At 15:35, Israeli forces raided Halhoul, clashed with several residents and as a result injured Mohamad Ibrahim Zama’ra after being struck by a tear gas grenade canister to the head.

Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

(i) At 08:25, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Deir Al-Balah.
(ii) At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Buriej camp as they were protesting against Israeli assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and against Palestinian citizens and as a result injured killed 2 residents, injured 2 residents and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
