WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. On January 16th 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village, served military orders for the demolition of several homes for allegedly being built with out licences during which they clashed with several residents.
2. At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram and Al-Eizariya towns.

Detention

1. At 11:00, Israeli forces detained 2 residents:Khalid Hassan Al-Zir and Ismail Hassan Al-Zir in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
2. At 16:00, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Kamal Mahmoud Tabanjat {A resident of Qutna village} as he was reporting to Israeli Intellegnce for questioning based on a prior summon.
3. On January 16th 2018, Israeli forces detained 7 children: Na'im Ibrahim Ashayr {11 years old}, Mohammad Ahmad Ashayer {14-year-old} Ali Mohammed Abu al-Hawa {14-year-old} Sufyan Firas Abu Al-Hawa {14 years old}, Ameer Sami Abu Al-Hawa {15-year-old} Mohammad Samir Abu al-Hawa {16 years old} and Adnan Musa Al-Hadra {17 years old} as they stormed and searched their homes in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem city.

Attack

On January 16th 2018, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they served military orders for the demolition of several homes for allegedly being built with out licences during their raid into Al-Eisawiya village.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

1. At 11:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.
2. On January 16th 2018, Israeli forces prevented the staff of the reconstruction committee at the Al-Aqsa Mosque from conducting restoration and maintenance work on Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock {including the work of mosaics and wooden ceiling and restoration of the doors of the mosque and other restoration work throughout the Al-Aqsa Mosque}.

Settlers Attacks

At dawn on January 17th 2018, Israeli settlers from "Ramot" settlement stormed Beit Iksa village, punctured the tires and sprayed racist graffiti on several vehicles.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah town bridge then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 00:10, Israeli forces raided Khirbithat Bani Harith village.
2. At 04:35, Israeli forces raided Beituniya town and detained 3 residents.

Detention

1. At 19:30, Israeli forces positioned at "Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint located near Bet El settlement in North Al-Bireh city detained Muneer Issa Yacoub {A resident of Qalandiya camp}.
2. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Hamada Abu Arab {A resident of Al-Amari camp}, Mohammad Al-Attout {A resident of Al-Amari camp} and Amin Musa Rihand {A resident of Al-Bireh city} in Beituniya town.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 10:45, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at "Enav" military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 12:05.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Kafriyat road {which connects Tulkarem and Qalqiliya districts} then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 10:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Nazlah Al-Sharqiya village.
2. At 14:15, Israeli forces raided Shufa village until 15:00.
3. At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Allar town and detained a resident then withdrew at 02:00.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Saleem Atiya Majdabat in Allar town.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:10, Israeli force set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 10:45 and again at 01:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya city then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 15:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 17:00.

Settlers Attacks

At 00:10, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Azzun town during which Israeli Military forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents as they attempted to prevent the settler attack and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Attack

1. At 16:55, Israeli forces positioned at the wall gate in Jayyous town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 00:10, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Azzun fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent Israeli settlers from storming the area and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

NABLUS

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 12:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30.
2. At 22:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction {located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem} and detained a resident.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 16th 2018, Israeli forces raided Salem village, stormed and searched a home , detained a resident and confiscated a vehicle.
2. At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Orif village until 01:55.

Detention

1. At 12:20, Israeli forces positioned at Huwarat Military checkpoint detained 3 residents: Baraa Jihad Abu Omar, Maher Asaad Mohammed Saeed Salah, and Shadi Yahya Saif.
2. Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction {located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem} detained Hana Hisham Fakhri Tabliyat {A resident of Nablus city}.
3. Israeli forces detained Abdel-Rahman Nasouh Ishtaya in Salem village.

Attack

1. At 16:25, Israeli forces positioned near Madma village fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 16:45, Israeli forces positioned near Salem village fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Confiscation of Property

At dawn on January 16th 2018, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Abdel-Rahman Nasouh Ishtaya after detaining him during their raid into Salem village.

SALFIT

Detention

At 16:00, Israeli forces detained Aweis Yusef Rashid Mara'ba {A resident of Izbit Salman village in Qalqiliya district}.

JERICHO

Detention

At 00:10 on January 16th 2018, Israeli forces detained Hussien Abdel-Azziz Shabnat during their raid into Al-Oja village.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 09:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Khader town then searched residents and vehicles until 17:05.
2. At 17:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hasna area located near Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 19:05.
3. At 00:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village {located at the east entrance of Beit Sahur city} then searched residents and vehicles until 02:30.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 16th 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Shuwarat village and detained a resident.
2. At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem city and detained a Palestinian Police officer after storming his home.
3. At 03:15, Israeli forces raided Teqou' town and detained 2 residents {including a child}.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Qahir Jamil Saleh Abu Kamal in Al-Shuwarat village.
2. Israeli forces detained Bilal Khader Mousa Salama {A Palestinian Police Officer} in Bethlehem city.
3. Israeli forces detained 2 residents {including a child}:Adam Ayad Mousa Al-Amour 17 years old, and Mahmoud Abdel-Salem Al-Boden in Teqou' town.

Attack

At 15:560, Israeli forces positioned at the west entrance of Teqou town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Land Confiscation

On January 16th 2018, Israeli forces issued a military order for the confiscation of a plot of land {approximately 670 m long and 2 m wide} in east Beit Sahur city.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

At 17:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the old city of Hebron then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Arrub camp and detained 2 children.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 children: Ismail Maher Sharif {16 years old}, and Qusay Ayman Titi {16 years old} in Al-Arrub camp.

Attack

At 17:05, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza stripe and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah.

•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza, Central Gaza and Khan Yunis Districts.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

1. At 14:00 on January 15th 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators at Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing located in east Gaza city.
2. At 14:30 on January 16th 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators at Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing located in east Gaza city.

CENTRAL GAZA

At 15:00 on January 16th 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators near east Khuza'a town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.
