WEST BANK

Demonstrations

• On January 1st 2018,Mass rallies were launched in all cities and towns in all districts, rejecting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem. The participants in the marches stressed that the decision will not change the situation Which is protected by international resolutions and laws as an occupied Palestinian city, and that Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian people and its independent state.

JERUSALEM

Raid

At dawn on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces raided Anata town and detained 3 residents {including a man and his wife}.

Detention

1. At dawn on January 1st 2018, Israeli forces detained Nassem Amjad Muhisien during their raid into Al-Eisawiya village.
2. On January 1st 2018, Israeli forces positioned at Jaba' Military checkpoint detained Sajjid Al-Fara {A resident of Al-Amari camp in Ramallah and Al-Bireh districts}.
3. At dawn on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Fawaz Burqan after storming his home during their raid into Al-Thuri neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
4. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Nasser Azzam Al-Rafa'i, Mohammad Thiyab Al-Shiekh and Du'a Al-Shiekh in Anata town.

Attack

At 16:40, Israeli forces positioned in Ras Al-Kabsah area in Al-Eizariya town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Assaults on Property

At 13:20, Israeli forces served Khalid Al-Zir with a military order for the removal of several Olive trees planted on his agricultural land in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem city.

Confiscation of Property

At 01:00, Israeli forces positioned at Jaba'a military checkpoint confiscated a vehicle owned by Nasser Mohammad Musa Nasser {A resident of Betin village in Ramallah and Al-Bireh district}.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Taybeh town junction {located along Al-Mu'arajat road which connects Ramallah and Jericho districts} then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At dawn on January 1st 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Mughier village and detained a resident.

Detention

1. At 02:45 on January 1st 2018, Israeli forces detained 5 residents: Saoud Nasser Mahmoud Arar, Ibrahim Nour al-Din Aref Sanif, Amer Snaif, Shahir Abdul Hamid Arar, and Mohammed Snaif during their raid into Qarwat Bani Zied village {as mentioned in the previous report}.

2. At 12:00, Israeli forces detained Mus'ab Salah Ibrahim Samhan {A resident of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village}.
3. Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Ramadan Al-Na'san in Al-Mughier village.

Settlers Attacks

At 10:30, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Harijiya area in Jibiya village then withdrew at 12:10.

JENIN

Flying Checkpoints

At 21:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qabatiya town then searched residents and vehicles until 22:45.

Raid

1. At 10:30, Israeli forces raided Ya'bad town.
2. At 10:40, Israeli forces raided Bi'r Al-Basha village then stormed and searched a factory.
3. At 21:20, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya town until 22:45.
4. At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Sanur village, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 03:40.
5. At 04:55, Israeli forces raided Jenin city and its camp then detained a resident in Jenin camp.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Yusef Jamal Al-Zabadi in Jenin camp.

TUBAS

Military Checkpoints

At 16:10, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Tayassir military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 16:10, Israeli forces setup a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Aqaba village then searched residents and vehicles.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:15 and again at 16:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 21:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hajja village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 23:15, Israeli forces raided Azzun town, detained a resident then withdrew at 00:50.
2. At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Kafr Qaddum village.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Rashid Shaker Radwan in Azzun town.

NABLUS

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Al-Muraba'a area located in Tel village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Nablus city and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Al-Jabali in Nablus city.

Settlers Attacks

On January 1st 2018, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Ras Al-Ein Area in Deir Al-Hatab village located near "Alon Moriya" settlement and placed mobile homes on a plot of land {approximately 40 dunums} then placed a barbed wire fence around the area.

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Bruqin town then searched residents and vehicles.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

On January 1st 2018, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Al-Hamra Military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

1.At dawn on January 1st 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village then stormed and searched 7 homes.
2. At 09:00, Israeli forces raided Jericho city until 13:10.

Detention

On January 1st 2018, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained Zakariya Sab'an Abdel-Jawad Al-Masri {A resident of Obwein town in Ramallah district} as he was returning from Jordan.

BETHLEHEM

Raid

1. At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 02:35.
2. At 03:05, Israeli forces raided Ayda camp in Bethlehem city, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 04:05.

Detention

1. At 01:20 on January 1st 2018, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ali Ibrahim Taqatqa during their raid into Beit Fajjar town.
2. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Ayman Mustafa Shaukat Malash {17 years old} and Ahmed Lotfi Mari Damesa in Ayda camp in Bethlehem city.

Attack

At 02:00, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several resiednts for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Einoun village and detained a child.

Raid

1. At dawn in January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces raided Dura town and detained a resident.
2. At dawn on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Arub camp and detained 2 residents.
3. At dawn on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces raided Hebron city and detained a resident.

Detention

1. Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near the entrance of Beit Einoun village detained Mohammad Sharif Al-Hallayqa {17 years old}.
2. Israeli forces detained Salim Yusef Al-Rajub in Dura town.
3. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammed Ahmed Jawabreh {16 years old}, and Ihab Kamal Jubara {17 years old} in Al-Arrub camp.
4. Israeli forces detained Sa'id Abu Sineneh in Hebron city.

Closure of main Roads

At 18:05, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at Al-Fuwar junction and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at 20:00.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza stripe and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah.

•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Central Gaza and Khan Yunis districts.
•Israeli Military aircraft broke the ceasefire agreement by launching missiles towards Khan Yunis District.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza district.
•Palestinian Gunmen broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fired and launching projectiles towards the Green Line.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 13:00 on January 1st 2018,Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in West Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 15:00 on January 1st 2018, , Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire, launched stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Al-Buriej camp.

KHAN YUNIS

Raid

At 06:15 on January 1st 2018, Israeli forces escorting Military bulldozers stormed 100m into the vicinity of east Al-Qarara town and opened fire as they leveled a plot of land then withdrew at 12:50.

Attack

At 13:00 on January 1st 2018,Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire, launched stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuz'a town.

Air Strike

At 01:40 on January 1st 2018, Israeli Military aircraft launched missiles towards Palestinian Gunmen locations in North west Khan Yunis city.

Palestinian Attacks

1. At 19:40 on January 1st 2018,, Palestinian gunmen launched a projectile towards the Green Line.
2. At 20:45 on January 1st 2018,, Palestinian gunmen launched a projectile towards the Green Line.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed {with the exception of 18 fuel trucks to supply fuel for electrical generators}.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.
