WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Raid

At 23:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched searched several homes and summoned 3 residents: Nidal Faroukh, Saleh Abu Assab and Nadeem Al-Safadi.

Detention

1. At 02:00 on January 1st 2020, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammad Hussien Ahmad Halawa, Khalid Ahmad Halawa and Husam Halawa during their raid into Anata town {as mentioned in the previous report}.
2. On January 1st 2020, Israeli forces detained Shadi Al-Matour in Jerusalem city.

Temporary Detention

1. At 08:00, Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued a order placing Yasser Darwish {a resident of Al-Eisawiya village} under home detention for a period of 2 days as a condition for his release after being detained at an earlier time.
2. At 10:50, Israeli forces in Jerusalem city issued a order placing Arin Al-Za'anin {a resident of Wadi Al-Juz neighborhood in Jerusalem city} under home detention for a period of 2 days as a condition for her release after being detained at an earlier time.
3. At dawn on January 2nd 2020,Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city placed the following 6 residents under home detention {20:00 until Anwar Sami Obied {4 month period}, Mohammad Aliyan Aliyan {4 month period},Fayiz Mohammad Muh'sien {2 month period}, Mohammad Musa Mustafa {3 month period}, Adam Kayed Mahmoud {2 month period}, Mahmoud Ramadan Obied {3 month period} {all are residents of Al-Esawiya village}.

Deportation

At 11:00, Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued orders banning Awwad Al-Salamiya {a resident of Beit Hanina town} from entering the old city of Jerusalem and Salah Al-Din road in Jerusalem city for a period of 7 days as a condition for his release after being detained at an earlier time.

Attack

At 23:00, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed several homes in Al-Eisawiya village.

House Demolition

At 09:05, Israeli forces demolished 2 homes owned by Yazid Khalayla and his brother {100 m2} in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city for allegdly being built without a license.

Confiscation of Property

On January 1st 2020, Israeli forces confiscated 5 residential tents owned by: Muhammad Omar Abdul Qadir, Zaki Khalil Abdul Qadir Jaafar, his father Khalil, Muhammad Maher Al-Sarkhi, and Hani Shaker Al-Sarkhi in Al-Muntar area located in the old city of Jerusalem and confiscated a water pipe line.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

1. At 09:30,a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.
2. At 18:30, Israeli Police forces stormed Bab Al-Rahma prayer area in Al-Aqsa Mosque and took photos of worshipers praying in the mosque.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 21:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atara town bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 00:45.
2. At 18:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Rima town then searched residents and vehicles until 19:30.
3. At 00:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Intham village and prevented residents from entering and exiting the village until 05:00.
4. At 00:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Liqya town then searched residents and vehicles.
5. At 00:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Sira village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Kobar town, clashed with several residents as they took measurement of the family home of Qassim Al-Barghouthi {a Palestinian Detainee} then withdrew at 05:00.
2. At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Deir Intham village until 05:00.
3. At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ni'ma village.
4. At 04:20, Israeli forces raided Deir Ghassana town and detained a resident.

At 00:35, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they took measurement of the family home of Qassim Al-Barghouthi {a Palestinian Detainee}during their raid into Kobar town.

JENIN

Raid

At dawn on January 2nd 2020, Israeli forces raided Bi'r Al-Basha village and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Hayel Assad Ghabashiyat Baghiet in Bi'r Al-Basha village.

TUBAS

Raid

1. At 10:00, Israeli forces raided Khirbeit Ibziq village and served a military order for the demolition of a concrete fence and removal of Olive trees owned by Ibrahim Mohammad Mijali.
2. At 14:35, Israeli forces raided Khirbeit Attouf village, demolished 3 residential tents owned by Zaynab Soliman Salem Abu Thaher and Ibrahim Sa'id Ziyad Abu Thaher then confiscated a water tank and the tents they demolished then withdrew at 16:30.

House Demolition

At 14:35, Israeli forces demolished 3 residential tents owned by Zaynab Soliman Salem Abu Thaher and Ibrahim Sa'id Ziyad Abu Thaher during their raid into Khirbeit Attouf village.

Confiscation of Property

At 14:35, Israeli forces confiscated 3 residential tents and a water tank owned by Zaynab Soliman Salem Abu Thaher and Ibrahim Sa'id Ziyad Abu Thaher during their raid into Khirbeit Attouf village.

TULKAREM

At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Anabta town, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 04:15.

QALQILIYA

At 10:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Jayyous town and Al-Nabi Eliyas village then searched residents and vehicles.

At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned at "Ayal" crossing point located in North Qalqiliya city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

NABLUS

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beita town junction then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 18:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near "Shavie Shamron" settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 18:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sara village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 20:20.

Raid

At 10:30, Israeli forces raided Nablus city.

Detention

1. At 17:55, Israeli forces positioned near "Alon Moriya" settlement detained 2 children: Abdel-Azziz Raed Abu Sa'ada {17 years old} and Ameer Mahmoud Hassan Ali Ahmad {17 years old} {both are residents of Askar camp in Nablus city}.
2. At 22:55, Israeli forces detained Ismail Hassan Al-Najjar along the main road near Osarin village.

Confiscation of Property

1. At 14:10, Israeli forces confiscated a tractor owned by Ayoub Ibrahim Al-Tayib in Al-Nassriya village after forcing him to stop working on his agricultural land.
2. At 18:20, Israeli forces confiscated a tractor owned by owned by Salam Hillal Khatatba near Beit Furik town for allegdly working on land in area C {which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control}.

1. At 14:15,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hasna area {located along the main road leading to the west villages of Bethlehem district} then searched residents and vehicles until 16:30.
2. At 21:30,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Nashash area junction {located at the south entrance of Bethlehem city} then searched residents and vehicles until 22:30.

Attack

At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned in vicinity of Bilal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem city fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Destruction of Property

At 10:20, Israeli forces leveled agricultural land and uprooted Olive trees owned by Izzat Abdallah Hassan and Ahmad Abdel-Latif in Khillet Farwan located in east Al-Ju'ba village.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 09:40,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Idhna town then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 09:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Wadi Al-Joz area {located at the entrance of Bani Na'im town} then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 17:20,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al- Nabi Yunis area {located along the main road connecting Hebron and Bethlehem}then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Samou' town, stormed and searched 2 homes then detained 2 residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Ismail Habib al-Mahariq, and his brother Alaa in Al-Samou' town.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2019,The permanent and comprehensive cease-fire entered into force on the initiative and sponsorship of the Arab Republic of Egypt, after reaching understandings to open the crossings, introduce humanitarian and relief assistance and reconstruction supplies, expand the fishing area for 6 miles, Up to 12 miles by the end of the current year, reducing the area of ​​the buffer zone from 300 m to 100 m, freedom of movement and preventing assassinations. At 09:00 on January 1st 2020,Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents near the border fence in east Jabaliya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 07:30 on January 1st 2020,Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Nussirat camp

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
*Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is open for the exit and entry of residents.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entrance of Humanitarian aid, limited supplies of Diesel fuel and construction material for Internationally funded projects.
