Demonstrations

• On January 2nd 2018,Mass rallies were launched in all cities and towns in all districts, rejecting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem. The participants in the marches stressed that the decision will not change the situation Which is protected by international resolutions and laws as an occupied Palestinian city, and that Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian people and its independent state.

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 14:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Khan Al-Ahmar road {which connects Jerusalem and Jericho districts} then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 17:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Eisawiya village then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 17:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near "Mishor Adumim" located along the main road leading to Al-Eizariya town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 2nd 2017, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis town and detained 2 residents.
2. At dawn on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces raided Hizma town and detained a child.
3. At dawn on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces raided Anata town and detained a resident.

Detention

1. On the evening of January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces detained the child Zidane Atta Awaisat {14 years old} in Jabal Al-Mukkabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
2. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Moussa Atta Jafal and Mahmoud Khalil Mohsen in Abu Dis town.
3. Israeli forces detained Sufian Fathi Abdel-Jaber Kanaan {15 years old} in Hizma town.
4. Israeli forces detained Obada Azzam al - Rifai in Anata town.

Attack

At 16:30, Israeli forces positioned in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Confiscation of Property

On the morning of January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces stormed Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city and took over a storage room {160 m} owned by Abed Mohammad Abu Wahdan after breaking the locks and emptying out supplies then proceeded to seal off the room and prevented the owner from using it.

House Demolition

On January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces stormed Beit Hanina town and demolished a home owned by Imad Ayad for allegedly being built with out licence.

Destruction of Property

On January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces stormed Wadi Hilwah area in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city and demolished a live stock den owned by Omar Al-Qaq and uprooted olive trees and demolished the stone fence surrounding the area.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Raid

1. At 03:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Amari camp in Al-Bireh city, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:00.
2. At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Rima town, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:40.
3. At 04:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp and detained 3 residents.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Hamza Imad Sa'ed in Al-Amari camp.
2. Israeli forces detained Shadi Khalid Abdel-Ra'uf Al-Rimawi in Beit Rima town.
3. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Sadam Hussien Mustafa Shakarna, Fayiz Shihadeh Al-Terawi and Abdallah Jamal Mubarak in Al-Jalazoun camp.

Closure of main Roads

On the evening of January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces closed the east steel gate entrance of Sinjil town and impeded the free flow of traffic.

JENIN

Flying Checkpoints

At 10:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Araba town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 12:00.

Raid

1. At 05:00, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya town and detained 5 resident.
2. At dawn on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces raided Ya'bad town and detained a resident.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained 5 residents: Hamad Nur Ahmed Saba'neh, Hussein Aref Samadi, Mahmoud Ahmed Khalil Abu Rab, Mahmoud Bassam Mohammed Kamil and Saher Emad Kamil in Qabatiya town.

2. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Fathi Metani in Ya'bad town.

TUBAS

Detention

At 19:00, Israeli forces detained Tuqani Lutfi Sa'id Bani Odeh {A resident of Tammun town}.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 12:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at "Enav" military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 12:20.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

At 17:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hajja village then searched residents and vehicles.

At 21:25, Israeli forces raided Azzun town.

Attack

At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned near Jayyous town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

NABLUS

Raid

1. At dawn on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces raided Jama'in town and detained a resident.
2. At 12:45, Israeli forces raided Madma village, summoned 2 residents: Nizar Fawzi Khalil Shehadeh and Eid Ali Abdul Ara'ra to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning.
3. At 17:30, Israeli forces raided Salem village, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured a child then detained 2 residents.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Jamal Ibrahim Salim Abu Amr in Jama'in town.
2. Israeli forces detained 2 resident: Anas Jamil Ishtaya and Malik Qais Hamdan in Salem village.

At 17:30, Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured a child.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured Omar Mustafa Abdel Hamid Hamdan {16 years old} during clashes in Salem village.

At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Salfit city then searched residents and vehicles.

JERICHO

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Zabidat village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:45.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

At 21:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hasna area located near the entrance of Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:45.

Raid

1. At 13:05, Israeli forces raided Al-Doha town until 14:10.
2. At 00:45, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, stormed and searched 3 homes then withdrew at 05:00.

Detention

On January 1st 2018, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Container Military checkpoint detained Ayman Khaled Atteya Issa {A resident of Tulkarem city}.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 19:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 19:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ummar town then searched residents and vehicles.

1. At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Halhul town and detained a resident.
2. At dawn on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Arrub camp then stormed several homes.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Aymna Majed Ali Al-Atrash in Halhul town.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza stripe and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah.

•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza and Khan Yunis districts and as a result injured a resident..

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Attack

At 13:00 on January 2nd 2018,Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire, launched stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Al-Shija'iya neighborhood in east Gaza city.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 12:15 on January 2nd 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire, launched stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuz'a town and as a result injured a resident.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured a unidentified resident during clashes in east Khuz'a town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.
