Demonstrations

• On January 4th 2018,Mass rallies were launched in all cities and towns in all districts, rejecting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem. The participants in the marches stressed that the decision will not change the situation Which is protected by international resolutions and laws as an occupied Palestinian city, and that Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian people and its independent state.

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 17:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Biddu town then searched residents and vehicles until 21:20.
2. At 21:30,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Biddu town and detained a resident.
2. At dawn on January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Qutna village and detained a resident.
3. At 11:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village, clashed with several residents and detained a resident.
4. At 17:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya town.

Detention

1. At 17:15, Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Walid Qabajah, Uday Walid Qabajah, Ihab Abdul Rahman Qabajah, and Adham Abdul Rahman Qabajah in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
2.At 21:30, Israeli forces detained Salah Aweidat in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
3. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Samir Mohammad Dar Al-Shiekh in Biddu town.
4. Israeli forces detained Imad Yasser Mohammad Shamasnah in Qutna village.
5. Israeli forces detained Ahmad Atef Obied in Al-Eisawiya village.

Attack

1. At 11:45, Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Eisawiya town.
2. At 17:00, Israeli forces positioned in Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
3. At 19:45, Israeli forces positioned in Ras Al-Kabsah area located near Al-Eizariya town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
4. At 21:30, Israeli forces positioned in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers as they performed Talmudic rituals.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

1.At 08:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah town bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
2.At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Abboud town then searched residents and vehicles until 16:25.
3. At 14:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Khirbithat Al-Misbah village then searched residents and vehicles.
4.At 19:30,Israeli forces positioned near Halamish settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 11:15, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ni'meh village until 12:40.
2. At 20:50, Israeli forces raided Deir Jrier village until 22:00.
3. At 03:10, Israeli forces raided Qadura camp in Ramallah city, clashed with several residents and as a result injured a resident, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:55.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Al-Rum in Qadura camp in Ramallah city.

Attack

1. At 11:20, Israeli forces positioned near Deir Nitham village fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents {who were participating in the funeral of Mus'ab Firas Al-Tamimi(17 years old) who was killed by Israeli forces} for alleged stoning and as a result critically injured a resident in the head.
2. At 03:10, Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents during their raid into Qadura camp in Ramallah city and as a result injured a resident.

Injuries

1. Israeli forces injured Mohammad Affif Dar Salah {critical head injury} during clashes in Deir Nitham village.
2. Israeli forces injured a unidentified resident during clashes in Qadura camp in Ramallah city.

JENIN

Raid

On the morning of January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Silah Al-Harthiya town, stormed and searched 2 homes and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Omar Mohammad Tawfiq Suliman in Al-Sliah Al-Harthiya town.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

At 15:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.

Attack

At 12:10, Israeli forces positioned near Jayyous town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Assaults on Property

On the morning of January 4th 2018, Israeli forces positioned in Kafr Thulth town prevented workers of the Municipality of Kafr Thult from constructing and paving a part of Al-Eiyoun road which connects Kafr Thulth town with Arab Al-Khawaja and Wadi Kana area {despite having a permit from the Israeli's through the the Palestinian Ministry of civil affairs to work in Area C which is under Israeli Military control.

NABLUS

Raid

1. At 12:20, Israeli forces raided Sabustiya village , clashed with several residents then withdrew at 13:45.
2. At 23:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq town, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 01:45.

Attack

1. At 12:20, Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Sabastiya village.
2. At 23:00, Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Beit Furiq town.

Closure of main Roads

At 15:10, Israeli forces closed Al-Muraba'a area road located near Tel village with dirt mounds.

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near "Arail" settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 09:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Marda village then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 11:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Harris village then searched residents and vehicles.

JERICHO

Raid

At 09:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village and detained a resident.

Detention

1. On January 4th 2018, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained Ahmad Taha Suliman Taha {A National Security Force Officer}{A resident of Bethlehem city} as he was returning from Jordan.
2. Israeli forces detained Nour Iz Al-Din Qassim Shihadeh {A resident of Ajja village in Jenin district} in Al-Oaja village.

BETHLEHEM

Raid

At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem city the stormed several homes.

Settlers Attacks

At 14:50, a bus carrying Israeli settlers ran over and killed a resident along road 60 in Al-Khader town.

Killings

Rami Issa Khalil Assad {38 years old} {A resident of Irtas village} was killed after a bus carrying Israeli settlers ran him over along road 60 in Al-Khader town.

Confiscation of Property

On the morning of January 4th 2018, Israeli forces confiscated farming equipment owned by Mustafa Abu Amous in Shuahlat area in Al-Khader town.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 11:00 and again at 17:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Einun village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Samou' and Al-Thahriya town junctions then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 09:50, Israeli forces raided Yatta town, detained a resident then withdrew at 13:50.
2. At 22:45, Israeli forces raided Shiyoukh Al-Arab village.
3. At 24:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya town until 04:05.
4. At dawn on January 5th 2018, Israeli forces raided Hebron city and detained a resident.
5. At dawn on January 5th 2017, Israeli forces raided Al-Arrub camp and summoned Majdi Mohammad Bannat to report to Israeli Intellegnce for questioning.

Detention

1. At 12:50, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Waleed Khadre Al-Asati {A resident of Tarqumiya town}.
2. Israeli forces detained Khalid Mar in Yatta town.
3. Israeli forces detained Ayman Abu Amr in Hebron city.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza stripe and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah.
•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Central Gaza and Khan Yunis districts .

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 09:45 and at 12:20 on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Deir Al-Balah city.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 10:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Qarara town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed {with the exception of the entry of several fuel trucks}..
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.
