Demonstrations

• On January 8th 2018,Mass rallies were launched in all cities and towns in all districts, rejecting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem. The participants in the marches stressed that the decision will not change the situation Which is protected by international resolutions and laws as an occupied Palestinian city, and that Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian people and its independent state.

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Al-Khan Al-Ahmar area {located along the main road connecting Jerusalem and Jericho} then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 13:30 and again at 19:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village, assaulted a residents then clashed with several residents.
2. At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Anata town and detained a resident.
3. At dawn on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces raided Qutna village and detained a resident.

Detention

1. At 10:00, Israeli forces detained 5 residents {including a child}: Daoud Mahmoud Abu Al Hawa {14 years old}, Nader Saeeda, Ziad Saida, Amjad Shobaki and Fadi Mazen Saida in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem city.

2. At 21:30, Israeli forces detained Yousef Al Hawash { A residents of the Old City of Jerusalem}.
3. At dawn on January 9th 2018, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Jihad Shweiki, and Iyad Shweiki, in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
4. Israeli forces detained Osama Zakariya Mohammad Aliyan in Anata town.
5.Israeli forces detained Rami Al-Fuqiya in Qutna village.

Temporary Detention

At 21:00, Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city imposed home detention sentences on 2 children: Mehdi Mufid al-Khadour {13 years old}, and Qusay Hossam Zeitoun {13 years old} and fined them 5000 NIS as part of their release from Israeli Military custody.

Attack

1. At 13:00, Israeli forces positioned in Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem city fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 19:20, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Eisawiya village.
3. At 21:00, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Ras Kabsa area located in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets. stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Physical Assault

At 13:30, Israeli forces assaulted Ayman Lutfi Al-Dari during their raid into Al-Eisawiya village.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 10:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

At 13:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Surda village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 14:45.

Raid

At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Dura Al-Qara' village and clashed with several residents for alleged stoning.

Attack

At 02:50, Israeli forces fired stun canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Dura Al-Qara' village.

JENIN

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Yamoun town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 06:45, Israeli forces raided Ya'bad town, detained 2 residents, temporarily detained 2 residents{including a National Security Force officer} then released him at a later time.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Nasser Hamarsha and Rasim Mahmoud Zied in Ya'bad town.

Temporary Detention

At 06:45, Israeli forces temporarily detained 2 residents: Mohammed Fathi Amarna {a National Security Force officer} , and Amjad Mahmoud Atatra during their raid into Ya'bad.

TUBAS

Destruction of Property

On January 8th 2018, Israeli forces leveled agricultural land, damaged property and chickpeas crops owned by Ahmad Daraghma as they conducted Military training in Al-Farisiya area located in the North Jordan valley area.

TULKAREM

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Quffin town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 12:30.

Raid

1. At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Quffin town then stormed and searched a home.
2. At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city, stormed and searched 2 home and merchant shops then detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Loia Anwar Shadid in Tulkarem city.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:30 and again at 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya city then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 22:00, Israeli forces raided Jayyous town, clashed with several residents as they stormed a home then withdrew at 00:30.

Detention

On January 7th 2018, Israeli forces detained Faris Mohammad Naji Adwan {A resident of Azzun town}

Attack

At 22:00, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched a home and as a result left suffocated Ihsan Abdel-Latif Khurisheh from tear gas inhalation.

NABLUS

Military Checkpoints

At 18:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq Military checkpoint and as a result impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 16:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at "Shave Shamron" settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Qusra town, detained a resident and confiscated a agricultural tractor from his home then withdrew at 02:30.
2. At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Orif village, detained a resident then withdrew at 06:20.
3. At 02:35, Israeli forces raided Jama'in town and detained a resident.

Detention

1.Israeli forces detained Qusay Abdel-Min'im Abu Radiya in Qusra town.
2. Israeli forces detained Usayed Mohammad Abdel-Hafith Shhihadeh in Orif village.
3. Israeli forces detained Abdel-Rahim Mohammad Zeitawi in Jama'in town.

1. At 14:30, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Rujieb village fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2.At 15:50, Israeli forces positioned at Jabal Al-Qa'dat area located in south Beit Furiq town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
3. At 15:55, Israeli forces positioned at the south area of Madma village fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
4. At 17:10, Israeli forces positioned in east Salim village fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Confiscation of Property

At 00:40, Israeli forces confiscated a agricultural tractor owned by Qusay Abdel-Min'im Abu Radiya after detaining him during their into Qusra town.

Settlers Attacks

On the evening of January 8th 2018, Israeli settlers from "Elon More" settlement stormed agricultural land in Ras Al-Ein area located in Deir Al-Hatab village and uprooted several Olive trees owned by Mohammad Nayef Amran.

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 20:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Iskaka village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:50.
2. At 21:15, Israeli forces set up checkpoint at the North entrance of Salfit city then searched residents and vehicles until 22:35.

Raid

1. At 21:25, Israeli forces raided Salfit city, clashed with several residents, stormed and searched a gas station and confiscated surveillance camera footage then withdrew at 22:35.
2. At 07:00, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya town and detained 2 residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Ra'fat Imad Thiyab and Sameh Omar Abu Zied in Deir Istiya town.

Attack

At 21:25, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed a Gas station during their raid into Salfit city.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 09:40,at 17:05 and at 19:30,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Nashash area junction {located at the south entrance of Bethlehem city} then searched residents and vehicles until 20:30.
2. At 09:40 and again at 16:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Teqou' town then searched residents and vehicles until 17:10.
3. At 12:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar town then searched residents and vehicles until 17:10.

Raid

At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Doha town and Ayda camp in Bethlehem city then detained a resident in Ayda camp.

Detention

1. At 03:05 on January 8th 2017, Israeli forces detained Loia Hamdan Al-Salibi during their raid into Bethlehem city{In addition to those mentioned in the previous report}.
2. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Lutfi Da'asma in Ayda camp in Bethlehem city.

Attack

At 16:30, Israeli forces positioned at the east entrance of Teqou' town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:45, Israeli forces set up 3 checkpoints at the entrance of Halhul town, Al-Fuwar camp and at Al-Hariq area {located at the south entrance of Hebron city} then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 14:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Hariq area {located at the south entrance of Hebron city} and detained a resident.

Raid

At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Arrub camp, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several home then detained 4 residents.

Detention

1. Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint in Al-Hariq area {located at the south entrance of Hebron city} detained Iz Al-Din Shihada Abu Sinenat {A resident of Hebron city}.
2. Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Nasim Tayseer Al-Titi, Yousef Tayseer Al-Titi, Ayman Abdel-Qassas and Omar Mohamed Assi in Al-Arrub camp.

Attack

1. At 11:30, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Arrub camp fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 14:55, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Kasarat area located in Jabal Juhar area of the old city of Hebron fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza stripe and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah.

•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by raiding and opening fire towards Khan Yunis district.
•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza District.
•Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza district.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 08:00 on January 8th 2018, Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Waha area located in west Beit Lahiya town , detained 2 fishermen and confiscated their fishing boat.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 fishermen: Jihad Suhail Murad and Mustafa Muhammad Murad { both are residents of the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City}.

Confiscation of Property

At 08:00 on January 8th 2018,Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat owned by Mohammad Omar Al-Najjar off the shores of Al-Waha area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Attack

At 07:45 on January 8th 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood in east Gaza city.

KHAN YUNIS

Raid

At 07:30 on January 8th 2018, Israeli forces escorting Military bulldozers stormed 100 m into the vicinity of east Al-Fakhari town and opened fire as they leveled a plot of land then withdrew at 12:30.

Detention

At 15:30 on January 8th 2018, Israeli forces detained a unidentified resident as he attempted to climb the border fence from east Abbsan town into Israel.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.
