DAILY SITUATION REPORT

WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

On 12. 03. 2020 The occupying forces set up a roadblock at the entrance to the town of Al-Ezeriya, to search cars and check the identities of citizens.

Raid

At 22:30, Israeli forces stormed Al-Issawiya village, where they clashed with the citizens, while they were patrolling.

Detention

1. On March 12 2020, the Israeli occupation forces arrested the citizen: Obada Najib, a resident of the city of Jerusalem.
2. On March 12 2020, the Israeli occupation forces arrested the citizen: Muhammad Shawqi Sanduqa - residents of the Old City of Jerusalem.
3. On March 12 2020, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 2 citizens - residents of Jerusalem, namely: Rawhi Kalgasi - residents of the Old City of Jerusalem, and Mustafa Al-Hashlamoun, residents of Al-Tur neighborhood.

Temporary Detention

On March 12 2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed a five-day house arrest on two citizens - residents of Al-Issawiya village, as a condition for their release after they had previously arrested them: Muhammad Bassam Obaid and Muhammad Mabtasim Obaid.

Attack

At 22:30, the Israeli occupation forces, during the storming of Al-Issawiya village, fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the citizens, under the pretext that they were throwing rocks while they were patrolling.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 08:30, groups of extremist settlers, under the protection of the occupation police, stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and made provocative tours of its courtyards and facilities.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

At 02:40, the Israeli occupation forces set up a roadblock at the entrance of Deir Ammar village to search cars and verify citizens ’identities.

Raid

At 00:20, Israeli forces raided the villages of Surda and Kafr Naama, and conducted patrols until 03:30.

Closure of main Roads

At 01:20, the Israeli occupation forces closed the entrance to the village of Ras Karkar, in front of traffic (on the pretext that an settler's vehicle came under fire from an unknown person).

JENIN

Raid

1. At 09:15, an Israeli army force stormed the town of Ya`bad, and they patrolled until 13:40.
2. At 09:55, an Israeli army force stormed the village of Kfirt, and conducted patrols until 13:40.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 12:05 , the occupying forces tightened their measures at the Ainaf checkpoint, blocking traffic.

Raid

1. At 08:00, Israeli forces raided the eastern town of Baqa, and conducted the patrol until 12:10.
2. At 20:45, Israeli forces raided the town of Anabta and conducted the patrol until 22:50.

QALQILIYA

Raid

1. At 08:00, an Israeli army force raided the town of Azoun, and patrolled.
2. At 08:00, an Israeli army force raided the city of Qalqilya and patrolled.
3. At 12:30, an Israeli army force stormed the town of Jayyous, and patrolled.

Attack

On the evening of March 12, 2020, the occupation forces, in the vicinity of the Jaljulia checkpoint, southeast of Qalqilya, fired metal bullets coated with rubber and sound and tear gas canisters at the demonstrators, on the pretext that they were throwing stones.

NABLUS

Raid

1. At 08:00, an Israeli army force stormed the village of Sebastia, to accompany a group of settlers, while visiting the ancient area of the village, and withdrew at 16:50.
2. At 14:50, Israeli forces raided the village of Madama, stormed and searched a number of houses, and withdrew at 16:50.

Settlers Attacks

At 04:05, a group of settlers in a private car stormed the city of Nablus, in an attempt to enter (Joseph's Tomb), and fled as soon as they watched the Palestinian Civil Police patrol in charge of guarding the site

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 09:50, the Israeli occupation forces set up a roadblock at the northern entrance to Salfit, to search cars and verify citizens ’identities.
2. At 10:15, the Israeli occupation forces set up a roadblock at the entrance to the town of Deir Ballut, to search cars and verify citizens ’identities.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

At 12:05, the Israeli occupation forces increased their procedures at the Hamra checkpoint, impeding traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:30, the Israeli occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the Dead Sea junction, to search cars and verify citizens ’identities.
2. At 10:25, the occupation forces set up a roadblock at the junction of the Nabi Musa area, to search cars and verify citizens ’identities.

BETHLEHEM

Raid

At dawn on March 12 2020, an Israeli army force stormed the village of Fureidis, and arrested a citizen.

Detention

The detainee in the village of Al-Faridis is Abdul Wahid Hisham Abu Mahmood.

House Demolition

On March 12 2020,the Israeli occupation forces demolished a 130-square-meter house, owned by Hazem Hashem Abu Muhaimid, in the village of Fureidis, on the pretext of not licensing.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 14:25, the Israeli occupation forces set up a roadblock at the junction of Khursa village, to search cars and verify citizens ’identities until 16:10.
2. At 17:05, the Israeli occupation forces erected a checkpoint at the entrance of the examination area, south of Hebron, to inspect cars and verify citizens ’identities.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on 26. 08. 2014 The permanent and comprehensive ceasefire came into effect on the initiative and sponsorship of the Arab Republic of Egypt, after reaching understandings to open the crossings and introduce humanitarian and relief assistance and reconstruction supplies, and to expand the area of fishing for 6 miles with an increase of up to 12 miles with At the end of this year, the area of the "buffer security" area will be reduced from 300 m to 100 m, freedom of movement and the prevention of assassinations, and the remaining issues, including the airport and the port, will be negotiated within a month of the ceasefire.
•Since the Morning of 28th. 06. 2019 The occupying forces allowed the expansion of the fishing distance from the oasis area northwest of the town of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza governorate and even to the port of Gaza by 6 nautical miles, and from the port of Gaza to the south of rafah beach to 15 nautical miles.
• The occupying forces violated the ceasefire, firing from their positions on the Green Line in central governorate, and by firing at fishermen's boats at sea in northern Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanoun Crossing - "Erez": Day 12. 03. 2020 is partially open (to leave the Gaza Strip - for medical humanitarian conditions, Israeli identity campaign, West Bank identity card holders in the Gaza Strip, foreigners, and staff of international organizations coordinated from 07:30 to 12:00, and to enter the Gaza Strip - For medical humanitarian conditions, international organizations coordinated for them, and Gaza Strip identity card holders who are outside from 7:30 to 19:00.

Attack

At 07:00 on March 12th, 2020, Israeli gunboats opened fire towards fishermen boats at sea, off the coast of Al-Sudaniya area, west of Beit Lahia.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar - Karni Crossing: closed since 02.03.2011, permanently, and by an Israeli unilateral decision.
* Al-Shojaeya Crossing - "Nahal Oz" for fuel: It has been closed since 01 01.2010 due to an Israeli unilateral decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

1. At 10:20 on 12. 03. 2020 The occupying forces fired from their positions on the Green Line, towards agricultural land east of Deir al-Balah.
2. At 10:30 on 12. 03. 2020 Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters from their positions on the Green Line, towards a number of citizens near the border fence east of Al-Bureij camp.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser Arafat International Airport: Closed.
* Sofa Crossing: Closed.
* Karam Abu Salem Crossing - "Kerem Shalom": Day 12. 03. 2020 is partially open (for the introduction of food and goods, limited quantities of fuel, private sector building materials and internationally funded projects).
* Entrance of return - Rafah: day 12. 03. 2020 is open in one direction (for those coming from The Arab Republic of Egypt).
