MONTHLY SUMMARY OF ISRAELI VIOLATIONS

The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 April 2019 to April 30 2019. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

  • April 2nd 2019:  Israeli forces raided Kafr Aqab town and Qalanidiya camp, clashed with several resident as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result killed Mohammad Ali Dar Odwan {23 years old}and injured 2 resident in Qalanidiya camp.
  • April 2nd 2019: Firas Yusef Abu Hijris {26 years old} {a resident of Bani Suhayla town located in east Khan Yunis city} died of critical injuries sustained during clashes in Khan Yunis district on March 30th 2019.
  • April 2nd 2019:  Israeli forces injured 3 children: Mohammed Ramzi Shehadeh {15 years old}, Nasser Daoud Zeidia, {16 years old} and Yousef Mohammed Yousef Mutair {16 years old} during clashes near Qalandiya military checkpoint.
  • April 3rd 2019: Mohammad Abdel-Min'im Abdel-Fattah {23 years old} was killed after an Israeli settler opened fire towards him near Huwara town road.
  • April 4th 2019: Israeli forces injured the child Ahmad Ali Ahmad Saud {16 years old} during clashes near the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp.
  • April 5th 2019, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Gaza city during the march of return and as a result injured 32 residents and left 15 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • April 6th 2019: Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Muthalath Al-Shuhada village and as a result injured the child: Ramiz Samir Abu Eid {17 years old}.
  • April 12th 2019: Israeli forces killed the child Maysara Musa Ali Abu Shaloush {15 years old} {a resident of Beit Hanoun town} after opening fire towards demonstrators in east Jabaliya town during the march of return.
  • April 13th 2019: Yusef Bassam Abu Eisha, 15 years old, from Tal al-Rumeida neighborhood in the old city of Hebron, was severely beaten by Israeli forces while walking at a military checkpoint in the old town of Tel Rumeida.
  • April 14th 2019: the child: Ishaq Abdel-Mu'ti Sweilim Ishtawi {16 years old}{a resident of Rafah city} died of critical injuries after Israeli forces opened fire towards him and 2 others as they attempted to climb the border fence into Israel from east Khan Yunis city on April 3rd 2019 {as mentioned in the report of April 4th 2019}.
  • April 16th 2019: An Israeli settlers vehicle travelling in the old city of Hebron ran over the child Omar Ra'fat Al-Salayma {14 years old} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
  • April 16th 2019: Israeli forces positioned in Hizma town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Ahmad Mohammad Foad Al-Khatib {13 years old}
  • April 18th 2019: Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Teqou' town fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Osama Ali Mohammad Al-Badan {16 years old}.
  • April 20th 2019: an Israeli settlers driving his vehicle near Al-Faradis village roundabout ran over the child: Mohammad Raed Abed Ibrahim Askar {5 years old} {a resident of Al-Faradis village} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
  • April 23rd 2019: Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers {including members of the Israeli Knesset-Parliament} and the Chairman of the Settlement Council who stormed Joseph's Tomb during their raid into Nablus city and as a result injured 7 residents {including a child}: Nour al-Din Bashar Khuwayri {17 years old}, and Ammar Sa'id Abdel-Fattah Asqalan  and left 14 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • April 26th 2019: Israeli forces positioned at Al-Tuwani village located in east Yatta town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several farmers who were harvesting chickpeas and as a result left Khadra Solman Rabi' {70 years old} hospitalized with burns and suffocation from tear gas inhalation after a tear gas canister fired by Israeli forces exploded near her.
  • April 27th 2019: Omar Awni Abdel-Karim Yunis {20 years old}{a resident of Sinariya village} died of serious injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards him near Za'tara military checkpoint force allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier as mentioned in the report of April 21st 2019.

  • April 1st 2019:  Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Mahmoud Najib {A Security guard at Al-Aqsa mosque compound} from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 15 days as a condition for his release after he was detained earlier for opening Bab Al-Rahma prayers area in Al-Aqsa mosque.
  • April 1st 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Shadi Al-Matour from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 7 days after he was summoned for questioning by Israeli Police.
  • April 4th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Khader Al-Ajlouni from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 2 weeks as a condition for his release after he was detained earlier for opening Bab Al-Rahma prayers area in Al-Aqsa mosque.
  • April 4th 2019:  Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Imran Al-Rajabi from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 5 days as a condition for his release after he was detained at an earlier time.
  • April 5th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Ahmad Khalil Abu Arfa and Tawfiq Abu Dahim from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 15 days as a condition for their release after they were temporarily detained
  • April 6th 2019: Israeli authorities issued orders banning Issam Amira entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a period of 15 days.
  • April 6th 2019: Israeli authorities issued orders banning Abdel-Athim Salhab from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a period of 15 days as a condition for his release after being detained at an earlier time.
  • April 8th 2019:  Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning 4 children: {all are residents of Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city} from their places of residence for a period of 1 month and placed them under home detention for a period of 1 week and also fined them 5000 NIS each as a condition for their release after being detained at an earlier time.
  • April 21st 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued home detention orders on 4 residents: Uday Adnan Ghaith, Ibrahim Nidal Ghaith, Ahmed Dia Ghaith, and Hamza Rabea Asalieh {All residents of Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city} for a period of 1 week and imposed fines of 1000 NIS and 3000 NIS for each of them as a condition for their release after being detained by Israeli forces at an earlier time.
  • April 23rd 2019:  Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Arafat Amro {Director of the Islamic Museum in Al-Aqsa Mosque} from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a period of 2 weeks as a condition for his release after being detained at an earlier time.
  • April 24th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Ayda Al-Sidawi from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a period of 13 days as a condition for her release after she was summoned by Israeli Police for questioning at an earlier time.
  • April 26th 2019:  Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Ameer Al-Zaghir from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 4 days as a condition for his release after being detained at an earlier time.

During the month of April  2019, the Israeli military demolished 19 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • April 2nd 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction and consisting of 2 floors} owned by Hushiya family in Shu'fat camp for allegedly being built without a license and near the wall gate near "Pizgat Za'iv" settlement.
  • April 2nd 2019: Israeli forces demolished a 3 floor building owned by Basma Issa Al-Laham in Bi'er Ona area in Beit Jala city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • April 6th 2019: Israeli authorities in the old city of Jerusalem forced Nabih Al-Bassati to demolish the outer walls, the roof and the rest of the columns in his 56-square-meter house. In 2016, he demolished the interior walls of the house which made it uninhabitable in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that Israeli authorities carried out the Demolition for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • April 9th 2019: Israeli authorities forced Ayman Zarinat to demolish his 2 floor home in Bi'r Onat area located in Beit Jalla city force allegedly being built without a licence after receiving a Military order so as to avoid paying a hefty financial penalty in the event that the Israeli authorities demolished the home.
  • April 13th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city forced Majed Hassan Rashid Al-Ajlouni to demolish his own home in Al-Sa'diya neighbourhood in the old city of Jerusalem for allegedly being built without licences in order to avoid paying a hefty financial penalty in the event that Israeli authorities implement the demolition.
  • April 15th 2019: Israeli authorities forced Awad Mohammad Al-Abbassi to demolish his home {under construction} located in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city after he received a prior order in order to avoid paying a finical penalty in the event Israeli authorities implemented the demolition.
  • April 16th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Sussiya village located in east Yatta town demolished a tent owned by Hussien Radi Al-Nawaj'a.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished the home of Salah Omar Al-Barghouthi in Kobar town.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction} for allegedly being built without a license in Jabara village.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Imran Al-Masri in Beit Hanina town for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a room owned by Iz Al-Din Burqan in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • April 18th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 2 apartment buildings owned by Al-Assir family
  • April 23rd 2019: Israeli forces demolished {using controlled explosive demolition} the 2nd floor of a building {consisting of 4 Apartments} which is owned by the family of Omar Abu Liela {who was killed by Israeli forces} during their raid into Al-Zawiya town.
  • April 27th 2019: Israeli authorities forces Mohammad Sa'id Ahmad Salayma to demolish his home {approximately 130 m2} located in Wadi Qaddum area in Silwan neighbourhood of Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license in order to avoid paying a hefty fine in the event that the Israeli military demolished the home.
  • April 29th 2019:  Israeli forces demolished a home {built of Tin}owned by Ahmad Khalaf Ja’abis and houses 5 members of his family in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and also demolished 3 storage rooms {150 m2 in total} owned by Imad Abu Sharifa for allegedly being built without licenses.
  • April 30th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 2 homes and 2 storage dens owned by Anas Bruqan and Qusay Bruqan in in Wadi Yasoul area in Silwan neighbourhood located in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without licenses during which they clashed with several residents who attempted to prevent the demolition and as a result injured 4 residents {including 2 who were assaulted by Israeli forces} and left 2 others with contusions.

  • March 24th 2019: Israeli military Forces issued the military order 19\03\H for the confiscation of 283.185 dunums {acres} of agricultural land in the city of Tubas for military purpose.
  • April  3rd 2019: the Israeli Military issued order H/01/19 for the confiscation of 401 dunums {acres} of land in Beit Ummar and Halhul towns in order to pave a bypass road leading to Al-Arrub.
  • April 4th 2019: Israeli military Forces issued an amendment for the military order 99\11\C considering the closure of an area of 101.307 dunums {acres} of agricultural land in the city of Tubas, Tamoun, and the village of Tayasser, citizens are not allowed to enter the area without a previous permits from the Israeli military forces .

 Israeli settler raided the vicinity of Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem on several occasions

  • April 2nd 2019: Israeli Police raided Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • April 11th  2019: a group of Israeli settlers lead by "Ori Arail" {The Israeli Minister of Agriculture} and under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.
  • April 22nd 2019: Israeli forces have closed Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound in the old city of Hebron {for the 2nd consecutive day} and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers in the mosque in order allow several settlers to perform Talmudic ritual's for the Jewish holiday "Passover".

  • April 6th 2019:  Israeli authorities approved tenders for the construction of an additional 770 settlement units in "Betar Aliyat" settlement located in Nihalin town, Husan and Wadi Fuqin villages on land occupied in 1967.

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of April  2019  the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 386 flying checkpoints in April 2019 (compared with 368 in March 2019 and 301 in February 2019) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military carried out a total of 557 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of April 2019, including 552 in the West Bank and 5 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (48); Ramallah (62); Jenin (106); Tubas (5); Tulkarem (35); Qalqiliya (34); Nablus (57); Salfit (37); Jericho (14); Bethlehem (47); Hebron (107), North Gaza (1), Central Gaza (2), Khan Yunis (1) and Rafah (1).

Attacks

A total of 282 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of April 2019 (143 in the West Bank and 139 in the Gaza Strip).

The Israeli military carried out 78 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property, 91 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 52 during raids into Civilian populated areas. In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 56 attacks on Palestinian fishermen and territory and 5 from air strikes

 

Palestinian Attacks:

During the month of April 2019, Palestinian gunmen broke the ceasefire agreement on 2 occasions by launching projectiles towards the Green Line.

  • April 19th 2019: Palestinian Gunmen opened fire towards the border fence in east Rafah city.
  • April 20th 2019: Palestinian Gunmen launched projectiles towards the Green Line.

 

Attacks on residential areas in West Bank and Gaza districts

Home Demolition

During the month of April 2019, the Israeli military demolished 19 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • April 2nd 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction and consisting of 2 floors} owned by Hushiya family in Shu'fat camp for allegedly being built without a license and near the wall gate near "Pizgat Za'iv" settlement.
  • April 2nd 2019: Israeli forces demolished a 3 floor building owned by Basma Issa Al-Laham in Bi'er Ona area in Beit Jala city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • April 6th 2019: Israeli authorities in the old city of Jerusalem forced Nabih Al-Bassati to demolish the outer walls, the roof and the rest of the columns in his 56-square-meter house. In 2016, he demolished the interior walls of the house which made it uninhabitable in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that Israeli authorities carried out the Demolition for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • April 9th 2019: Israeli authorities forced Ayman Zarinat to demolish his 2 floor home in Bi'r Onat area located in Beit Jalla city force allegedly being built without a licence after receiving a Military order so as to avoid paying a hefty financial penalty in the event that the Israeli authorities demolished the home.
  • April 13th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city forced Majed Hassan Rashid Al-Ajlouni to demolish his own home in Al-Sa'diya neighbourhood in the old city of Jerusalem for allegedly being built without licences in order to avoid paying a hefty financial penalty in the event that Israeli authorities implement the demolition.
  • April 15th 2019: Israeli authorities forced Awad Mohammad Al-Abbassi to demolish his home {under construction} located in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city after he received a prior order in order to avoid paying a finical penalty in the event Israeli authorities implemented the demolition.
  • April 16th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Sussiya village located in east Yatta town demolished a tent owned by Hussien Radi Al-Nawaj'a.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished the home of Salah Omar Al-Barghouthi in Kobar town.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction} for allegedly being built without a license in Jabara village.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Imran Al-Masri in Beit Hanina town for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a room owned by Iz Al-Din Burqan in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • April 18th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 2 apartment buildings owned by Al-Assir family
  • April 23rd 2019: Israeli forces demolished {using controlled explosive demolition} the 2nd floor of a building {consisting of 4 Apartments} which is owned by the family of Omar Abu Liela {who was killed by Israeli forces} during their raid into Al-Zawiya town.
  • April 27th 2019: Israeli authorities forces Mohammad Sa'id Ahmad Salayma to demolish his home {approximately 130 m2} located in Wadi Qaddum area in Silwan neighbourhood of Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license in order to avoid paying a hefty fine in the event that the Israeli military demolished the home.
  • April 29th 2019:  Israeli forces demolished a home {built of Tin}owned by Ahmad Khalaf Ja’abis and houses 5 members of his family in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and also demolished 3 storage rooms {150 m2 in total} owned by Imad Abu Sharifa for allegedly being built without licenses.
  • April 30th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 2 homes and 2 storage dens owned by Anas Bruqan and Qusay Bruqan in in Wadi Yasoul area in Silwan neighbourhood located in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without licenses during which they clashed with several residents who attempted to prevent the demolition and as a result injured 4 residents {including 2 who were assaulted by Israeli forces} and left 2 others with contusions.

Jerusalem:

  • April 1st 2019: Israeli forces positioned near Bab Al-Amoud area in Jerusalem city stormed and closed down a vehicle parking lot owned by Al-Salamiya family.
  • April 1st 2019:  Israeli forces demolished a livestock den {40 m2} owned by Musa Issa in Shu'fat neighbourhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a licence
  • April 16th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 3 Plant shops owned by Ibrahim Salah Al-Din and Mohammad Sabah in Hizma town for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a storage room and a kitchen at a restaurant owned by Izz Al-Din Burqan in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city for alleged being built without a license.
  • April 17th 2019:  Israeli forces demolished livestock shed {used to house horses} {approximately 200 m2} owned by Al-Qaq family in Al-Thuri neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.
  • April 19th 2019: Israeli forces closed a soccer field in Beit Safafa village during an annual youth soccer tournament hosted by the Palestinian authority in commemoration of Prisoners solidarity day.
  • April 21st  2019:  Israeli forces stormed a hotel located at Salah Al-Din road in Jerusalem city and prevented the a ceremony for the signing of an agreement for the development and sale of Apartments in Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood in Jerusalem city between Jerusalem Holding and Development companies then proceeded to take photos of those attending the ceremony and served several guest {including}: Mazen Sinokrot, Dr. Safa Nasr-Al-Din, Mahdi Sinokrot, Kamal Barakat and Hani Al-Ashier {the Hotel manager} summons to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • April 29th  2019: Israeli forces demolished a livestock den {140 m2} and a storage room {40 m2}owned by Imad Abu Sharifa and also demolished 2 livestock dens owned by Jamal Shkirat and a storage room{40 m2}and a storage container {50 m} owned by Mohammad Adel Shkirat and 2 livestock dens owned by Fawzi Musadat, 2 livestock dens owned by Yacoub Abu Sineina, concrete fence owned by Salah Shkirat and Khalil Shkirat 5 caravans {mobile homes} owned by Awni Othman and agricultural plant shop owned by Ismail Obidat for allegedly being built without licenses.
  • April 29th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a vehicle parking lot owned by Ahmad Al-Shuwiky in Al-Thori neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.
  • April 29th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Sur Baher village and forced Mahmoud Abd Rabbo to demolish his own home and also demolish a livestock den owned by Abu Kaf Family for allegedly being built without licenses.
  • April 30th  2019: Israeli forces demolished 2 storage dens {used to store livestock and chickens} owned by Anas Burqan and Suhayb Bruqan in Wadi Yasoul area in Silwan neighbourhood located in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without licenses.
  • April 30th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a storage den owned by Khader Ali Nimer in Sur Bahr village or allegedly being built without a license.

 

Tubas:

  • April 1st 2019: Israeli forces stormed Al-Lahmat area in the North Jordan valley and levelled a plot of privately owned agricultural land.
  • April 7th 2019: Israeli forces positioned in Jabaris area of the North Jordan valley prevented farmers from entering the area.
  • April 27th 2019:  Israeli forces positioned in Ein Al-Sakout area located in the North Jordan valley prevented several shepherds from herding their livestock in the area.
  • April 29th 2019:  Israeli forces stormed Khirbeit Al-Dier area located in the North Jordan valley and issued a military order to halt the installation of solar panels used for generating electricity to operate water pumps for livestock irrigation.

Nablus:

  • April 16th 2019:  Israeli forces positioned in Khirbiet Yanoun area and placed banners showing the transfer of hundreds of dunums of agricultural land planted with olive trees and other crops to a nature reserve.

Bethlehem:

  • April 8th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Beitar village and served military orders to several residents to evacuate Al-Khamar area located north of the village claiming that the area is a closed military area and gave them 30 days to remove their belongings from the area.
  • April 29th  2019: Israeli forces stormed Bir Awanat area located in Beit Jalla city and levelled agricultural land and uprooted several olive tree owned by Ayman Zarina and Waleed Zarina.

Hebron:

  • April 8th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Khilat Um Al-Amad area located in west Yatta town and prevented construction workers from paving a road leading to agricultural land located south of "Otniel" settlement.

Confiscation of Property:

Jerusalem:

  • April 1st 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated equipment from a steel mill during their raid into Anata town.
  • April 7th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from a supermarket during their raid into Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem city.
  • April 16th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated cloths, cigarettes and 150000 NIS from a store owned by Mohammad Salah Al-Din during their raid into Hizma town.
  • April 30th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated 2 containers owned by Khader Ali Nimr in Sur Bahr village.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • April 14th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from a flour mill owned by Hamad Al-Hinawi in Silwad town.
  • April 18th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from a supermarket owned by Osama Alawi during their raid into Al-Bireh city.
  • April 30th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated steel mill equipment owned by Abdallah Al-Wassiti during their raid into Beit Ur Al-Tahta.

Tubas:

  • April 15th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated vehicle and electrical generator equipment in Al-Deir area in the North Jordan valley.

Jenin:

  • April 3rd 2019: Israeli forces confiscated sums of cash as they stormed and searched 3 homes owned by Jamal Mohammad Al-Sid {a resident of Kafr Ra'i town}, Islam Adel Ghannam {a resident of Jaba' town} and an unidentified resident in Siris village during their raids into those areas.
  • April 4th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated sums of cash from 3 homes owned by Ibrahim al-Sweiti, Hosni Mahmoud Asaad, and Izz al-Din Kamil.during their raid into Qabatiya town.

Tulkarem:

  • April 13th 2019: Israeli forces positioned at "Enav" military checkpoint confiscated a vehicle owned by Mo'ayad Sa'ad Jallad {a resident of Tulkarem city}.

Nablus:

  • April 11th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a computer from the home of Abdallah Fayez Al-Mash'ati after detaining him during their raid into Kafr Qalil village.

Qalqiliya:

  • April 8th  2019: Israeli forces confiscated sums of cash from the home of Mohammad Saleh Nofal during their raid into Jayyous town.
  • April 22nd 2019: Israeli forces confiscated sums of cash after storming and searching Marwan Ali Abu Thiab's home during their raid into Qalqiliya city.

Salfit:

  • April 17th 2019:  Israeli forces positioned at Za'tara military checkpoint confiscated a vehicle owned by Ra'fat Jamil Nassif {a resident of Tulkarem city}.

Bethlehem:

  • April 8th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated 17000 NIS and 300 USD from the home of Adnan Mohammaf Al-Shuwarat during their raid into Al-Shuwarat village.
  • April 24th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated sums of cash from the home of Nasser Awad during their raid into Bethlehem city.
  • April 28th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Muthna Abed Al-Qaysi after detaining him during their raid into Bettar town.

Hebron:

  • April 17th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle near Al-Andalous gas station in the old city of Hebron.

Settlement Activity:

  • April 3rd 2019: Israeli authorities approved tenders for the construction of 70 new settlement units in "Mistad" settlement located in east Sa'ir town on land occupied in 1967.
  • April 6th 2019:  Israeli authorities approved tenders for the construction of an additional 770 settlement units in "Betar Aliyat" settlement located in Nihalin town, Husan and Wadi Fuqin villages on land occupied in 1967.

 

Settler Violence:

72 incidents of Settler violence occurred during the month of March 2019 including:

Jerusalem:

April 1st 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Beit Hanina town and punctured the tires of several vehicles and spray painted anti-Arab and racist slogans on the vehicles and home fences.

Ramallah &Al-Bireh:

  • April 2nd 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Deir Ijrier village and uprooted and chopped down approximately 150 Olive and almond trees and 400 grape vineyards owned by Abdel-Dayim Ajjaj and spray-painted anti-arab and racist graffiti on a water tank located in the area.
  • April 7th 2019: Israeli settlers stormed Jibiya village, stoned several residents and as a result injured a resident then withdrew at a later time.
  • April 10th 2019: a group of Israeli settler stormed Ein Yabroud village and attacked several homes and slashed the tires of several vehicles and spray paint anti-arab and racists slogans on the vehicles and concrete fences surrounding the homes.
  • April 28th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Jabal Risan area located near Ras Kar Kar village and threw stones towards 3 residents who were taking measurements of a plot of land and as a result left them hospitalized with contusions.
  • April 29th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Jabal Risan area located near Ras Kar Kar village and attacked several farmers and as a result injured Fatouh Mohammad Attiya leaving him hospitalized with contusions.

Tubas:

  • April 6th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Mazahouk area in the North Jordan valley and attempted to forcibly remove a family from the area during which a verbal argument ensued between the residents and the settlers.
  • April 12th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Farisiya area located in the North Jordan valley area and stole a sheep owned by Ali Zuhdi Abu Muh'sein as he was herding his sheep.

Jenin:

  • April 4th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Ya'bad town and paved a road which resulted in the uprooting of several Olive trees on several acres of land which was occupied by a settler about two months ago and placed a mobile home and a livestock barn .
  • April 4th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli military stormed the area of Homish settlement {which was abandoned} then withdrew at a later time.
  • April 9th  2019:a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Jabaliya area located in east Jaba' town and near Al-Muraba'a and Al-Mahajir area's located in the western area then chased and provoked several residents.

Nablus:

  • April 3rd 2019: An Israeli settler riding a vehicle stormed Nablus city in an attempt to enter Joseph's Tomb during which Palestinian Police were able to apprehend and capture him before handing him over to Israeli authorities.
  • April 3rd 2019:  an Israeli settler positioned at Huwara town road opened fire towards 2 residents Mohammad Abdel-Min'im Abdel-Fattah {23 years old} resident and injured Khalid Salah Rawajb.
  • April 4th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement levelled a plot of land in Karm Saleem area located in Burin town near the settlement.
  • April 5th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Masaudiya area located in Burqa village then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli military.
  • April 7th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Khirbiet Yanoun village, uprooted and chopped off the limbs of several Olive trees owned by Adel Aqel Haydar Bani Jabir.
  • April 12th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed Burin village under the protection of the Israeli military who fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to stop the settler attack and as a result injured a resident.
  • April 13th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Orif village, stoned several residents and as a result injured a resident and damaged 2 vehicles owned by loia Shihada and Ziyad Shihada during which Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents and as a result injured a resident and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • April 17th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Qaryout village located near "Elli" settlement, attacked several residents while they were farming land during which Israeli forces temporarily detained several residents then released them at 14:15.
  • April 29th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Masaudiya area located near Burqa village then withdrew at a later time.

Qalqiliya:

  • April 23rd 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Assalat village and uprooted approximately 20 Olive trees owned by Murshid Abdel-Rahman Suliman and Rashid Abdel-Rahman Suliman.

Salfit:

  • April 5th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Wadi Al-Sha'er area located in east Salfit city then withdrew at a later time.
  • April 30th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli military stoned the home of Mohammad Salem Abu Yacoub.

Bethlehem:

  • April 8th 2019: An Israeli settler's vehicle travelling along road (60) near the entrance of "Navi Danail" settlement ran over Hamza Shihada Mahmoud Ahmad Najajrat {a resident of Nihalin town} and as a result left him hospitalized with fractures and contusions.
  • April 24th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military raided Solomon's Pools located in Irtas village and conducted Talmudic rituals.

Hebron:

  • April 5th 2019: An Israeli settler’s vehicle ran over the child Aysar Mahmoud Hushiya {15 years old} near the entrance of Al-Tuwani village in east Yatta town and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions and fractures.
  • April 16th 2019:  An Israeli settlers vehicle travelling in the old city of Hebron ran over the child Omar Ra'fat Al-Salayma {14 years old} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
  • April 17th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli military stormed a plot of agricultural land owned by Yusef Musa Masharfat in an attempt to confiscate the plot claiming that it belongs to one of the Israeli settlers.
  • April 18th 2019: Israeli settlers stormed Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron and attacked the home of Ishaq Ramadan and sprayed pepper spray onto his face leaving him suffocated then attacked several other residents.
  • April 25th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military stormed Khirbeit Al-Qat area located in south Beit Ummar town as they stormed archaeological sites in the area.
  • April 25th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers from "Migon" settlement stormed agricultural land in east Yatta town and placed poisonous chemicals inside the main water well in the area that local farmers use for their live stock in an attempt to poison the live stock owned by Palestinian farmers.
  • April 29th 2019: An Israeli settlers stoned several vehicles travelling along road {60} and as a result damaged the rear window of a vehicle owned by Mohammad Abu Arram.

Closure of Crossing Points

The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 146 occasions during the month of April 2019. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 106 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 24 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 20 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.

 

The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 40 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed on 10 occasions. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
