The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 August 2021 to 31 August 2021. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

Analysis of Events
Killings
A total of 9 residents were killed by Israeli forces during the month of August 2021 {7 in the West Bank and 2 in Gaza}:
- 8/6/2021: The Israel occupation forces positioned in the Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita fired live ammunition and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, which led to the death of a citizen: Imad Ali Mahmoud Dweikat, 37 years old, and the injury of 21 civilians (including a journalist), and 31 civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
- 8/11/2021: the citizen: Dia al-Din Muhammad al-Sabarini, 25 years old - a resident of Jenin camp, died of serious wounds he sustained during confrontations with the occupation forces in the city of Jenin on 03/08/ 2021.
- 8/16/2021: : the Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition, rubber-coated meta bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens, under the pretext of coming under gunfire from unknown assailants and stones were thrown as they stormed a number of houses and as a result killed 4 civilians.(The bodies of two martyrs were detained): Raed Ziyad Abd al-Latif Abu Seif, 21 years old, a resident of Jenin, Noureddine Abdel Ilah Jarrar, 19, a resident of Jenin, Saleh Ahmad Muhammad Ammar, 19, a resident of Jenin refugee camp, and Amjad. Iyad Azmi Husseinieh, 20, resident of Jenin refugee camp, and 4 other civilians were injured during their raid into Jenin city and its camp.
- 8/24/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning and as a result killed a child: Imad Khaled Saleh Hashash, 16 years old during their raid into Balata refugee camp in Nablus.
- 8/25/2021: the citizen: Osama Khaled Muhammed Duaij, 31 years old - a resident of Jabalia camp in the North Gaza governorate, died of serious wounds he sustained during his participation in a demonstration near the border fence east of Gaza City
- 8/28/2021: The child: Omar Hassan Abu Al-Nil, 13 years old - resident of Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City, died of serious injuries he sustained during his participation in a demonstration near the border fence east of Gaza City
Injuries
A total of 206 injuries were reported in the month of August 2021 {133 Palestinians in the West Bank and 73 in the Gaza Strip).

Arrests
During the month of August 2021, the Israeli military arrested 380 Palestinians {372 in the West Bank and 8 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of 97 Jerusalem, 34 Ramallah, 27 Jenin, 15 Tubas, 18 Tulkarm, 17 Qalqilya, 36 Nablus, 25 Salfit, 7 Jericho, 45 Bethlehem, 51 Hebron. 2 North Gaza, and 6 Khan Yunis,
Among them: 25 children, 6 female citizens, 1 university students and 8 Security Force Officers.
Closure
Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of August 2021 ,the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).
The Israeli military installed 321 flying checkpoints in August 2021 (compared 320 flying checkpoints in July 2021 and compared with with 350 in the month of June 2021 and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

Raids
The Israeli military carried out a total of 318 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of August 2021, including 312 in the West Bank and 6 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (22); Ramallah (35); Jenin (56); Tubas (10) Tulkarem (19); Qalqiliya (15); Nablus (45); Salfit (21); Jericho (8); Bethlehem (47); Hebron (34), Gaza (1), Khan Yunis (3) Central Gaza (2).
Attacks
A total of 133 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of August 2021 (100 in the West Bank and 33 in the Gaza Strip).
The Israeli military carried out 18 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property,64 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 36 during raids into Civilian populated areas. In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 15 attacks on Palestinian fishermen. 14 during Airstrikes
Attacks on residential areas in West Bank and Gaza district
Home Demolition
During the month of August 37 2021, the Israeli military demolished Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following:
- 08/04/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished and dismantled in the village of Khirbet Ibziq in the northern Jordan Valley, 4 houses built of tents owned by citizens: Hayel Turkman, Nael Turkman, Adel Turkman, Muhammad Mithqal Daraghmeh, and Aziz Nawaja, and confiscated them.
- 08/04/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Khirbet Dra’ Awwad area near the village of Frush Beit Dajan, demolished 3 residential concrete rooms owned by citizens: Adnan Abdul-Mahdi Al-Salameen, Abdul-Karim Adnan Al-Salameen, and Abdul-Mahdi Adnan Al-Salameen, under the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/05/2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished in Wadi Al Sharq area of Sa’ir town, 2 houses (under construction - each consists of 3 floors and each floor has an area of 200 square meters) owned by citizens: Jamal Muhammad Yassin Jaradat and Ahed Ali Yassin Jaradat, Hajjah The lack of a permit, because they were located in the classified area (C) under Israeli control, and as a result, confrontations took place with the citizens while they were trying to prevent the demolition, which led to the injury of 3 civilians.
- 08/09/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Al-Ashkariya neighborhood located in the town of Beit Hanina forced 7 citizens (brothers) of the Al-Obaidi family to demolish their homes themselves, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event the occupation authorities carry out an operation Demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit.
- 08/11/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished a house (consisting of two residential floors) owned by the two citizens: Ramah Odeh and his brother Ali in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem, under the pretext of not having a permit.
- 08/12/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Al-Ashkariya neighborhood in the town of Beit Hanina forced 5 citizens: Abdullah Talib Khader, and his sons, to demolish their homes (a house consisting of 5 apartments), after notifying them earlier, to avoid paying fines. Exorbitant in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, in favour of the settlers who claim ownership of the land on which the building is built since 1962.
- 08/14/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Muhammad Mahmoud Matar, to personally demolish his 60-square-meter house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the occupation authorities The demolition process, on the pretext of not having a permit.
- 08/14/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Ali Sari, to personally demolish his 150-square-meter house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the Israeli occupation authorities initiated the demolition process, on the pretext of not having a permit.
- 08/15/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Muhammad Osama Dweik, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the Israeli occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/17/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in Yatma village demolished a house (under construction) owned by: Baraa Ahmed Al-Najjar - residents of Yatma village, under the pretext that it was not licensed and that it was located in the classified area (C) under Israeli control.
- 08/25/2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished, a house owned by the citizen: Ahmed Nasr Abu Al-Teen in the village of Al Walaja under the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/27/2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a house (under construction) with an area of about 90 square meters in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city, owned by the citizen: Muhammad Al-Zaghal, under the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/28/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities forced the family of the citizen: Mahmoud Samrin, to demolish a 40-square-meter apartment room attached to their house located in the Wadi Hilweh area in the Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines. In the event that the Israeli occupation authorities carry out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit.
- 08/29/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Oqab Jaabis, to personally demolish his house, which consists of a residential room and (a container), after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the authorities Occupation with the demolition process, on the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/30/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in Jerusalem demolished the house of the citizen: Ahmed Youssef Mashhara (for the second time in a row), after notifying him earlier, under the pretext of not having a license.
Attack on Public and Private property occurred as follows per District:
Jerusalem:
- 08/04/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished 16 commercial establishments owned by citizens of the Al-Khatib family in the town of Hizma, under the pretext of widening the bypass road that runs adjacent to the town and leads to the Hizma military checkpoint.
- 08/17/2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a nursery owned by the citizen: Muhammad Hussein Juma' ain the village of Beit Safafa, under the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/31/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a retaining wall in the Wadi al-Rababa area in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem, owned by the family of: Simrin, under the pretext of cleaning.
Ramallah &Al-Bireh:
- 08/04/2021, the Israeli occupation forces set fire to agricultural lands and burned 20 olive trees, after tear gas canisters exploded as they clashed with citizens during their raid into Deir Abu Mishaal village.
- 08/05/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces in the Arab al-Kaabneh area near the town of al-Taybeh (on the Al-Ma’arjat road connecting the governorates of Ramallah and Jericho), demolished 3 sheep sheds and confiscated them, in addition to demolishing two tents used for housing, owned by the citizen: Muhammad Suleiman al-Kaabneh.
Jenin:
- 08/09/2021, the Israeli occupation forces, near the entrance to the town of Ya'bad, built three commercial facilities, under the pretext of building without a permit, owned by the citizens: Muhammad Khaled Atatreh and Omar Abdul Ragheb Zaid al-Kilani. They also demolished a water tank used to irrigate agricultural crops on the road between the towns of Ya'bad Arraba, owned by a citizen of the family of: Al-Sha’er - residents of Arraba town, and as a result, confrontations took place with the citizens while they were trying to confront the demolition process.
- 08/18/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a commercial facility owned by the citizen: Muhammad Atatreh near the eastern entrance to Yabad town, under the pretext of not having a license.
Tubas:
- 08/04/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished and dismantled in the village of Khirbet Ibziq in the northern Jordan Valley, 4 tents used for raising sheep, 6 open sheds for sheep and 4 solar cells, in addition to the demolition of 4 tented houses, which were confiscated and owned by the citizens: Hayel Turkman, Nael Turkman, Adel Turkman, Muhammad Mithqal Daraghmeh, and Aziz Nawaja.
- On the morning of 08/16/2021, the Israeli occupation forces uprooted dozens of olive trees, owned by the citizen: Khaled Rushdi Sawafta, on the western side of Bardala village in the northern Jordan Valley.
- On 08/16/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces levelled a 3 km long agricultural road that had been built earlier to serve dozens of farmers in the village of Atouf and also demolished an agricultural room owned by the citizen: Rami Sorour Bani Odeh.
Tulkarem:
- 08/18/ 2021, , the Israeli occupation forces demolished a barracks for raising sheep and a tank for collecting water owned by the citizen: Nidal Abdel Rahim Mustafa Agoli, located in the forested area near the apartheid wall in the town of Qafin, on the pretext of not having a license and then detained him.
- 08/21/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in Wadi al-Sham area near the village of al-Jarushiya, north of Tulkarm city, prevented the crews of the Tulkarm Agriculture Directorate from rehabilitating an agricultural road in the area, and confiscated a bulldozer (Bajr) and a truck, on the pretext that the land was confiscated for military purposes.
Nablus:
- 08/04/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished an agricultural room owned by the citizen: Abdel Aziz Al-Nabulsi near the archaeological area in the village of Sebastia.
- 08/11/2021. the Israeli occupation forces blew up the doors of 3 shops as they stormed and searched them during the storming of the city of Nablus
- 08/11/2021. the Israeli occupation forces demolished, a car washroom owned by Khalil Ibrahim Owais near the entrance to al-Lubban al-Sharqiya villageunder the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/16/2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished an agricultural room owned by: Ghazi Hosni Musa, in the Khallet al-Abhar area in the town of Deir Ballut.
- 08/23/2021, the Israeli occupation forces in Sebastia village removed a number of "caravans" from industrial installations owned by the citizen: Muhammad Ezzat Azem.
Salfit:
- 08/24/2021, the Israeli occupation forces, handed 3 notices to stop work to reclaim lands owned by citizens: Mahyoub Al-Zeer, Rayan Al-Jama’ini, and Wael Khafash, in Al-Marahat area, west of Salfit city and another notice to stop work on building warehouses owned by the citizen: Ali Shehadeh Odeh, on the grounds that it was not licensed and that it is located in the classified area (C) under Israeli control.
Bethlehem:
- 08/04/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished the Shaab Sultan area of the village of Wadi Rahal, 5 agricultural rooms, under the pretext of non-licensing (known by the owners): Hazem Ziada and Muhammad Al-Taweel.
- 08/10/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces levelled a paved road with a length of 1 km in the Karm Hadidoun area located in the Batin Abu Hassan basin, east of the village.
- 08/11/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces handed the citizens: Muhammad Ali Sawarka and Khalil Muhammad al-Shaer, notices to vacate their land, and to remove all the barracks in it for raising livestock within 14 days.
- 08/11/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a poultry farm owned by the citizen: Shadi Musa Abdel Sheikh, in the Ain Gwiza area, northeast of the village of Al Walaja, on the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/18/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces razed a 1-donum area of land owned by the citizen: Muhammad Al-Taweelin the town of Za'tara, under the pretext of working in it without a license.
Hebron:
- 08/11/ 2021the Israeli occupation forces demolished an agricultural (brack) owned by: Akram Abu Sabha in Al-Fakhit area, east of Yatta.
- 08/11/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a rainwater collection well owned by: Fikri Jabr Dababsa, and an agricultural room owned by: Fuad al-Amour. in the Khallet al-Dabaa area, east of Yatta,.
- 8/18/ 2021, l, the Israeli occupation forces razed a piece of land with an area of 1 dunum - used as a summer resort, owned by the citizen: Othman Hassouna in the town of Halhu and y also demolished stone chains, fences, gardens and rooms (two-storey caravans) in the Zahr al-Hawa area, north of Hebron on the pretext that it is located in the classified area (C) under Israeli control.
- 08/24/2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished 3 livestock dens in the Khirbet al-Rahwa area, south of the town of Al-Zahiriya.
- 08/25/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished the foundations of a mosque, a health unit and a water collection well in the Zatout area, east of Yatta, under the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/25/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a 200-square-meter vehicle repair workshop in the Al-Harayek area, near the southern entrance to the city of Hebron, owned by a citizen of the Al-Awiwi family, under the pretext of not having a license.
- 08/25/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces razed an area estimated at 10 dunums of citizens’ lands planted with about 400 grape trees, olive trees, summer plantations and forest trees owned by the citizen: Salem Dhiab Al-Rajab in the Birin area, south of the town of Bani Naim on the pretext that it is within the area Classified (C) under Israeli control.
Confiscation of Property:
Ramallah & Al-Bireh:
- 08/05/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated two tents used for housing and 3 barns for raising sheep after they demolished them, in the Arab al-Kaabneh area near the town of al-Taybeh (on the Al-Ma’arjat road connecting the governorates of Ramallah and Jericho).
- 08/29/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a bulldozer in the village of Nabi Saleh, owned by: Samer Ahmed Ayesh Hassouna..
Tubas:
·08/04/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated in the village of Khirbet Ibziq in the northern Jordan Valley, 4 houses built of tents owned by citizens: Hayel Turkman, Nael Turkman, Adel Turkman, Muhammad Mithqal Daraghmeh, and Aziz Nawaja., 4 tents used for raising sheep, 6 open sheds for sheep, 4 solar cells and a generator after they were demolished and dismantled, in addition to two private vehicles.

08/15/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated solar cells to generate electricity after dismantling them, owned by the citizens: Naim Hafez Masa’id and Saeed Zayed Ayyad Abu Zaher in the village of Khirbet Yarza.
Jericho:
●08/30/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated school books and a personal identity card for the citizen: Abdel Razek Mohamed Abdel Razek Masa’id during their raid into Al-Jiftlik village.
Bethlehem:
- 08/06/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a quantity of timber used for construction in front of the house of the citizen: Ismail Hassan Muhammad Rashaida.
Hebron
- 08/18/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated the contents of the headquarters of the Palestinian Advertising Company during their raid into the city of Hebron, and sealed them with (oxygen welding) until February 2022.
Settlement Activity:
- 08/02/ 2021, Israeli settlers from the outpost “Ibi Hanahel” built on the lands of Kisan village on land owned by the Abayat family and began constructing a settlement road adjacent to the outpost.

Another group of settlers, expanding a settlement outpost, that they established two months ago near the place on an area of land owned by citizens of my family: Abu Sharekh and Jabarin.
- 08/16/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces began razing large areas of citizens’ lands belonging to the city of Qalqilya, the town of Azzun and the village of Al-Nabi Elias, to implement a settlement plan aimed at expanding the settlement street No. (55) linking the cities of Qalqilya and Nablus.
- 08/20/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces built a garden on a plot of land that was confiscated earlier in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem, owned by the former Mufti of Jerusalem: Haj Amin Al-Husseini.

- 08/13/ 2021, a settler in the city of Jerusalem assaulted a citizen (bus driver) - while he was driving the bus he was working on, as a result of which he was injured - in the face and neck, and he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Ramallah:
- 08/06/2021, a group of settlers from the settlement of "Ofra", which is built on the lands of Silwad town, severely beat 5 civilians (a citizen and 4 of his sons, including 2 children) - residents of Deir Dibwan town, which led to their bruises. Governmental Hospital in Ramallah for treatment: Nael Abdel Hamid Awawdeh, 66, and his children Abdel Hamid, 15, Youssef, 12, Bara’a and Hadeel.
- 08/11/2021, a group of settlers razed an area estimated at 35 dunams of the lands of the western Mazraa town. The land is owned by: Muhammad Khalil Yousef Abu Rabei.
- 08/27/ 2021, a group of settlers from the outpost built on Mount Raysan attacked the citizen: Dhafer Ataya, and his family members while they were on their agricultural land belonging to the village of Kafr Nima, located near Mount Al Raysan, and tried to expel them from the place, and as a result, the occupation forces intervened and evacuated the settlers from the place.
Tubas:
- 08/1/2021, a group of settlers in the Mofieh Plain, north of the Hadidiya area in the northern Jordan Valley, razed an area of land, in an attempt to seize it.
- 08/07/2021, a group of settlers was near the Tayseer checkpoint, and threw stones at the vehicles of citizens passing through the checkpoint, smashing the windows of two vehicles owned by citizens: Ammar Mahmoud Mabsalt and Najib Shahid Sawafta (both of them live in Tubas).
- 08/19/2021, a group of settlers built a road in the Al-Faw area near Al-Farsieh area in the northern Jordan Valley.
Jenin:
- 08/06/2021, a group of settlers from the “Mofu Dotan” settlement, which is located south of the town of Yabed, entered the agricultural lands of the citizens in the Jabal Abu Al-Shawareb area of the town of Kafr Ra’i, which is located near the colony, and assaulted the citizen: Ibrahim Hafez Melhem - residents of Kafr Ra’i town. - 08/17/2021, a group of settlers was near the ruins of the vacated “Homish” settlement, and threw stones at cars passing by citizens on the main road, Jenin - Nablus, and severely beat the child: Tariq Abdel Razek Zubeidi, 15, in addition to spraying pepper gas on his face. - 08/08/2021, a group of settlers, east of the village of Beit Dajan, assaulted the citizen: Haitham Yasser Walid Al-Naji - resident of Beit Dajan village, while he was grazing sheep.
- 08/10/2021, a group of settlers from the settlement of "Yitzhar" entered the eastern outskirts of the village of Urif, and threw stones at the citizens and their homes, injuring 3 civilians - with head injuries, and they were subsequently admitted to the hospital for treatment.

- 08/16/ 2021, a group of settlers from the settlement of “Yitzhar” attacked the homes of citizens on the southern side of Asira al-Qibliya village during which the Israeli occupation forces also intervened and fired stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens while they were trying to confront the settlers.

- 08/29/2021, a settler stormed the city of Nablus, in an attempt to enter (Joseph's Tomb), where the Palestinian Civil Police patrol in charge of guarding the tomb was able to arrest him, and hand him over to the Israeli side through the Palestinian military liaison.
- 08/30/2021, one of the guards of the settlement of "Yitzhar" kidnapped the citizen: Ahmed Abdel Wahed Al-Tirawi, while he was in the town of Hawara, and took him into the colony, and he was released at a later time.

Closure of Crossing Points
Border crossings with Israel: were closed 147 times (Beit Hanoun - Erez crossing was open 27 times , with the exception of humanitarian cases, the Shejaiya crossing - Nahal Oz was completely and unilaterally closed by the Israeli side on 01/04/2010, as well as the Muntar-Karni crossing was closed unilaterally from Before the Israeli side, on 02/03/2011, the Kerem Shalom-Kerem Shalom crossing opened for 24 days for the entry of food, humanitarian aid, fodder and a quantity of cooking gas, cement and iron for the benefit of UNRWA projects and internationally funded projects, while the Sufa crossing was closed throughout the month.
