The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 December 2018 to December 31 2018. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

  • December 4th 2018: Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result killed Mohammad Husam Abdel-Latif Habali {22 years old}{A resident of Tulkarem camp} and injured another
  • December 11th 2018: Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Ithna town opened fire towards and killed Omar Hassan Abdel-Fattah Awad {27 years old} {A resident of Ithna town}.
  • December 11th 2018: the child Ahmad Yasser Sabri Abed {4 years and 8 months old}{A resident of Al-Farahin area in Abbasan town} died of serious injuries sustained as Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city participating in the right of return march on December 8th 2018.
  • December 12th 2018: Israeli special forces killed Saleh Omar Saleh Al-Barghouthi {29 years old} {A resident of Kobar town} after opening fire towards his vehicle near Surda village junction.
  • December 13th 2018: Israeli forces positioned in the old city of Jerusalem opened fire towards and killed Majd Jamal Mutier {A resident of Qalandiya camp} after he allegedly stabbed 2 Israeli Police officers.
  • December 13th 2018: Israeli forces killed Ashraf Na'awla{A resident of Shawkiya neighborhood in Tulkarem city}{23 years old} {who was accused of killing 2 Israeli settlers in "Barkan" settlement industrial zone located in Salfit district on October 7th 2018} after opening fire towards a home during their raid into Askar camp in Nablus city.
  • December 13th 2018: Israeli forces opened fire towards and killed Hamdan Tawfiq Naji Alk-Arda {58 years old} {A resident of Arraba town in Jenin district} as he was driving his vehicle in Al-Bireh city.
  • December 14th 2018: Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result killed Mahmoud Yusef Rabah Al-Nakhlat {18 years old}{A resident of Al-Jalazoun camp}  and injured 3 others {including 2 children}.
  • December 20th 2018: Israeli forces positioned at "Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint located near "Bet El "Settlement in North Al-Bireh city opened fire towards a vehicle carrying 4 residents and as a result killed Qassim Mohammad Ali Al-Abbassi {17 years old}{A resident of Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city} and left another resident injured.
  • December 21st 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators near east Gaza city during the march of return and as a result killed 2 residents {including a child: Mohammad Mu'in Khlil Jahjouh {16 years old}{A resident of Al-Shata' camp in Gaza city} and Abdel-Azziz Abu Shrariyat {28 years old}{A resident of Gaza city}}, injured 15 residents {including a Journalist} and left 36 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • December 21st 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators near east Gaza city during the march of return and as a result killed 2 residents {including 1 resident who died of serious injuries sustained during clashes in May 14th 2018}: Ayman Mohammad Shabir {18 years old}{a resident of Deir Al-Balah city} and Maher Attiya Mohammad Yassin {40 years old}{A special needs patient}{A resident of Al-Nussirat camp} injured 8 residents {including a journalist} and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • December 21st 2018: Ashraf Mohammad Hamad Radwan {36 years old} who died of serious injuries sustained during clashes in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city participating in the right of return march in May 14th 2018}.
  • December 28th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city participating in the right of return march and as a result killed a resident {A special needs patient: Karam Mohammad Nu'man Fayad {26 years old}{A resident of Khan Yunis camp}{A Special needs patient} }, injured 3 residents {including 2 Paramedics} and left 7 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (161); Ramallah (128); Jenin (29); Tubas (12); Tulkarem (23); Qalqiliya (17); Nablus (45); Salfit (14); Jericho (9); Bethlehem (68); Hebron (78),North Gaza (4) and Central Gaza (4) Among those arrested by the Israeli military were: 32 children, 5 women, 11 University students, 1 PLC members, 1 Journalist, 6 fishermen, and 3 Security Force Officers.

During the Month of December 2018 Israeli courts in Occupied Jerusalem issued the following expulsion orders:

  • December 2nd 2018: Israeli courts in Jerusalem city issued an order preventing Adnan Ghayth {The Palestinian Authorities Governor of Jerusalem district} from entering the West Bank districts for a period of 14 days, placing him under home detention for a period of 3 days as well as fining him 500 NIS as a condition for his release after he was detained more than a week ago.
  • December 2nd 2018: Israeli Authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued orders to expel 9 residents: for 14 days from the West Bank governorates in addition to payment of a financial guarantee as a condition for releasing them after they were arrested earlier: Alaa Abu Al Hawa, Amer Awad, Fadi Mahmoud, Hussam Abu Sneineh, Khalil Bashir, Mohammed Al Qaq, Ahmed Mustafa, Iyad Hadra, and Hatem Mahlous. They are: Adnan Ghaith (Governor of Jerusalem), Alaa Abu Al Hawa, Amer Awad, Fadi Mahmoud, Hossam Abu Sneineh, Khalil Basheer, Mohammed Al Qaq, Ahmed Mustafa, Eyad Hadra and Hatem Al Mahlous.
  • December 6th 2018: Israeli forces served a military order to Adnan Ghyath {Palestinian Authority Governor of Jerusalem district} preventing him from entering the West Bank for a period of 6 months after he was summoned to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • December 12th 2018: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order to deport Ahmad Hussien Darbas from his home in in Eisawiya village for a period of 5 days as a condition for his release after being detained by Israeli forces at an earlier time.
  • December 17th 2018: Israeli authorities issued an expulsion order for Jihad Ghazawi {A resident of Jerusalem city} banning him from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 15 days as a condition for his release after being detained at an earlier time.
  • December 24th 2018: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem issued a court order banning Intham Rushid Abu Ramouz {A resident of Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city} from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a period of 15 days and fined him 2500 as a condition for his release after being detained at an earlier time.

  • December 10th 2018: Israeli forces served a military order for the confiscation of a plot of land owned by Ammar Ibrahim Al-Arraj in Al-Waljat village alleging its state owned land.
  • December 27th 2018: the Israeli occupation forces issued a military order no. (18/14/14) extending the confiscation of 1.468 dunums of the land of Anata town under the pretext of urgent security purposes until January 15th 2019.

  • December 5th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a school {consisting of 7 rooms} located near Al-Samiya village in North west Al-Samou' town for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 9th 2018: Israeli forces served a military order to halt construction of a school in Wadi Suliman area located in Beit Liqya town which was opened on December 3rd 2018.
  • December 11th 2018: Israeli forces raided Beit Dajjan village and stormed a secondary school, served a military order to the school administration to halt construction on additional classrooms and prevented construction workers from resuming their work.
  • December 12th 2018: Israeli forces raided Al-Quds University campus in Abu Dis town, stormed and searched several college buildings and the headquarters of the student Union , confiscated surveillance camera footage and damaged several equipment.
  • December 14th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Palestine Poly technical College {Al-Khoudary College} during their raid into Tulkarem city.
  • December 23rd 2018: Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate of Al-Khadoury Poly-technical College and prevented students from entering of exiting the area.
  • December 24th 2018: Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate of Al-Khadoury Poly-technical College and prevented students from entering of exiting the area.

  • December 4th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction} owned by Na'im Abu Dawij located in Jabal Al-Mukabbir neighborhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 4th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Mohammad Husssien Abu Teir in Sur Bahr village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 8th 2018: Israeli Authorities forced Juhar Hashimat and his brother Murad to demolish their apartments in Wadi Qaddim area in Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem city and forced them to pay heft financial penalties for allegedly building without a license.
  • December 11th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction} owned by Omar Abdel-Karim Rahalat in Al-Jiftlik village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 15th 2018: Israeli forces demolished the family home of Islam Abu Hamadin {A Palestinian Detainee} consisting of 4 floors during their raid into Al-Amari camp located in Al-Bireh city.
  • December 16th 2018: Israeli forces demolished the interior walls located the first floor of a 3 floor home owned by Ashraf Na'awla {who was killed by Israeli forces} during their raid into Shewika neighborhood in Tulkarem city.
  • December 18th 2018: Israeli Forces demolished a home {200 m2} owned by Moath Aqil located in Jabal Al-Mukkabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.

 Israeli settler raided the vicinity of Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem on several occasions

  • December 3rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers lead by Israeli MP Yahuda Glick under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.
  • December 3rd 2018: a group of settlers under the protection of Israeli Military forces erected a huge candlestick on the roof of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City of Hebron, under the pretext of celebrating the Hanukkah holiday.
  • December 9th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers lead by Ori Arail (Israeli Minister of Agriculture) under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.
  • December 11th  2018: Israeli forces forces stormed the Dome of the Rock mosque and Al-Aqsa mosque and prevented several employees from Al-Waqf { Jerusalem Islamic Waqf} from cleaning up rubble located inside the mosque during which they clashed with several residents who opposed the Israeli raid on the mosque thus prevented employees from entering then withdrew at a later time.
  • December 11th 2018: Israeli Police forces stormed the Dome of the Rock mosque and Al-Aqsa mosque while escorting 30 employees from The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the Israeli Archaeological Authority then withdrew at a later time.
  • December 12th 2018: Israeli forces closed down Al-Aqsa Mosque compound {after Israeli forces opened fire towards and killed a resident in the old city} thus prevented residents from conducting dawn prayers in the mosque forcing worshipers to pray on the streets near the mosque.
  • December 23rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers lead by "Yehuda Glick" {an Israeli Knesset Member} under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.

  • December 8th 2018: The Israeli occupation forces issued a military order no. (06/966/2018) extending the water tanker from the settlement of Shvut Rachel to the settlement of Magdulim, 7 km above the lands of Qusri and Jalud villages and of the lands of the citizens in the village of Jalud with a length of more than 4 km. The land to be penetrated by the water line in 7 basins of the lands of Jalud village, the ponds carrying the numbers (23,22,19,18,16,14,13) The village of Qasri will be divided into 3 basins which are the basins carrying the numbers (4,3,1). The water line will destroy large areas of the land of the citizens in the villages of Jalud and Qasr. Work on meters of water pipes, in addition to what they will have Israeli bulldozers ruined the land while working in the D water line.
  •  December 27th 2018: Israeli authorities approved plans for the construction of 1450 settlement units which include 220 housing units in the Givat Ze'ev settlement, 180 settlement units in the Neve Daniel settlement, 120 settlement units in the Karmei Tzur settlement, and 129 settlement units In the settlement of "Efni Hefetz", 62 settlement units in the Colony of "Maaleh Makhmash", 61 settlement units in the settlement of Tsufim, 42 settlement units in the colony of Alfe Menashe, 55 settlement units in the settlement of Tomer, "Adora", 16 settlement units in the colony "Matasad", and one settlement unit in the settlement of "Shilo", was also approved to expand the eastern settlement in the colony (Including 135 settlement units), and another 13 building plans are in the advanced stages of planning for approval (152 settlement units in Shavei Shamron settlement, 94 settlement units in the Hagai settlement and 100 settlement units). A settlement unit in the settlement of Helmish - Neve Tzuf, 75 settlement units in the settlement of Shvut Rachel-Shilo, 98 settlement units near the settlement of Ma'ale Amos, 82 settlement units in the settlement of Ofra, and two settlement units in Tsufim settlement) on the land Palestinian owned land occupied in 1967.

  • December 28th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city participating in the right of return march and as a result killed a resident {A special needs patient: Karam Mohammad Nu'man Fayad {26 years old}{A resident of Khan Yunis camp}{A Special needs patient} }, injured 3 residents {including 2 Paramedics} and left 7 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Injuries

A total of 329 injuries were reported in the month of December 2018 (121 Palestinians in the West Bank and 208 in the Gaza Strip). Injuries included 20 children, 5 Journalists and 1 Paramedic.

Arrests

During the month of December 2018, the Israeli military arrested 592 Palestinians (284 in the West Bank and 8 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (161); Ramallah (128); Jenin (29); Tubas (12); Tulkarem (23); Qalqiliya (17); Nablus (45); Salfit (14); Jericho (9); Bethlehem (68); Hebron (78),North Gaza (4) and Central Gaza (4) Among those arrested by the Israeli military were: 32 children, 5 women, 11 University students, 1 PLC members, 1 Journalist, 6 fishermen, and 3 Security Force Officers.

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of August  2018  the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 388 flying checkpoints in December 2018 (compared with 322 in November and 320 in October) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military set up 388 Flying checkpoints in the month of December 2018 and searched Palestinian civilians and vehicles in and around Palestinian residential areas in the districts of Jerusalem (10); Ramallah (115); Jenin (6), Tulkarem (3); Qalqiliya (55); Nablus (38); Salfit (37); Jericho (24); Bethlehem (45) and Hebron (55).

 

 

 

 

Raids

The Israeli military carried out a total of 611 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of December 2018, including 601 in the West Bank and 10 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (49); Ramallah (142); Jenin (84); Tubas (12); Tulkarem (53); Qalqiliya (27); Nablus (64); Salfit (25); Jericho (7); Bethlehem (61); Hebron (77), North Gaza (6),Gaza (1) and Central Gaza (3).

Attacks

A total of 335 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of December 2018 (213 in the West Bank and 122 in the Gaza Strip).

The Israeli military carried out 89 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property, 124 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 89 during raids into Civilian populated areas. In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 32 attacks on Palestinian fishermen and territory and 1 from air strikes

Palestinian Attacks:

During the month of December 2018, Palestinian gunmen broke the ceasefire agreement on 130 occasions by launching projectiles towards the Green Line.

 

Attacks on residential areas in West Bank & Gaza districts

 

Home Demolition

During the month of December 2018, the Israeli military demolished 11 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • December 3rd 2018: Israeli forces demolished 2 home owned by Ayman Yusef Qarinat and Hassan Abu Kharabish during their raid into Fasayil village for allegedly being built without licenses.
  • December 4th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction} owned by Na'im Abu Dawij located in Jabal Al-Mukabbir neighborhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 4th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Mohammad Husssien Abu Teir in Sur Bahr village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 8th 2018: Israeli Authorities forced Juhar Hashimat and his brother Murad to demolish their apartments in Wadi Qaddim area in Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem city and forced them to pay heft financial penalties for allegedly building without a license.
  • December 11th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction} owned by Omar Abdel-Karim Rahalat in Al-Jiftlik village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 15th 2018: Israeli forces demolished the family home of Islam Abu Hamadin {A Palestinian Detainee} consisting of 4 floors during their raid into Al-Amari camp located in Al-Bireh city.
  • December 16th 2018: Israeli forces demolished the interior walls located the first floor of a 3 floor home owned by Ashraf Na'alwa {who was killed by Israeli forces} during their raid into Shewika neighborhood in Tulkarem city.
  • December 18th 2018: Israeli Forces demolished a home {200 m2} owned by Moath Aqil located in Jabal Al-Mukkabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.

Jerusalem:

  • December 3rd 2018: Israeli authorities forced Ahmad Awni Siyam to demolish parking space and a parking garage near his home in Ein Al-Louza area of Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city after serving a military order for its demolition at an earlier time for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 12th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a vehicle driveway near the home of Anwar Dolat in Beit Hanina town for allegedly being built without a license.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • December 10th 2018: Israeli forces stormed and searched WAFA {Palestine News Agency} in Ramallah city, temporarily detained 2 employees and inspected surveillance camera footage after they broke into the main doors the computer room and electronic servers was removed in the editing room.
  • December 13th 2018: Israeli forces stormed The Palestinian Olympic Committee headquarter, stormed and searched and attempted to confiscate surveillance camera footage but were prevented by the employees from taking them during their raid into Al-Bireh city.

Tubas:

  • December 16th 2018: the Israeli military removed 14 families from their homes in Khiriet Ibziq village located in the North Jordan valley from 12:00 on December 16th 2018 until 06:00 December 17th 2018 for alleged military training in the area.
  • December 18th 2018: Israeli forces uprooted 200 cactus seedlings owned by Firas Nimr Sawafta which were planted 5 months ago near Bardala village in the North Jordan valley.
  • December 23rd 2018: the Israeli Military forced 14 families out of their homes in Ibziq village located in the North Jordan valley {after serving military orders at an earlier time} from 12:00 on December 23rd 2018 until 06:00 on December 24th 2018 for alleged military training in the area.
  • December 26th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Khirbeit Ibziq village located in the North Jordan valley forcibly removed residents from their homes from 12:00 on December 26th 2018 until 06:00 on December 27th 2018 for alleged military training in the area.
  • December 31st 2018: , the Israeli Military forced 14 families out of their homes in Ibziq village located in the North Jordan valley {after serving military orders at an earlier time} from 12:00 on December 31st 2018 until 06:00 on January 1st 2019 for alleged military training in the area.

Nablus:

  • December 26th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed east Khilat Al-Mak'houl area in the North Jordan valley and installed several tents in the area.

Salfit:

  • December 3rd 2018: Israeli forces demolished a car wash owned by Hassan Salah Soliman located along the road connecting Bidiya town and Harris village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 4th 2018: Israeli forces demolished 3 merchant shops {a dry clean shop, Carpentry shop and a Steel mill} owned by Fadi Soliman, Nadi Soliman and Salah Solimna in the west area of Harris village for allegedly being built without a license because of their location in area C which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control.

Hebron:

  • December 5th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a school {consisting of 7 rooms} located near Al-Samiya village in North west Al-Samou' town for allegedly being built without a license.
  • December 5th 2018: Israeli forces demolished an agricultural greenhouse located near Al-Fuwar camp.
  • December 23rd 2018: Israeli forces demolished a gas station located near Beit Ummar town and closed it down.
  • December 31st 2018:  Israeli forces demolished a livestock den owned by Ahmad Mohammad Hamdan Abu Mariya located along road 60 in Biet Ummar town.
  • December 31st 2018: Israeli forces demolished an agricultural storage den owned by Sa'ed Al-Amour located in Al-Masafar area in east Yatta town and also uprooted several Olive trees.

Rafah:

  • December 25th 2018: Israeli Naval vessels damaged a fishing boat off the shores of Rafah city.

  • December 11th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a computer and a cellular Telephone from the home Ahmad Mohammad Darbas during their raid into Al-Eisawiya village.
  • December 12th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from the student Union offices as they stormed and searched Al-Quds University campus in Abu Dis town.
  • December 18th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated 3 vehicles owned by Dabras family near the entrance of Al-Eisawiya village.

  • December 2nd 2018: Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near Atarah Town Bridge confiscated a vehicle owned by Muntasir Waleed Abdel-Jaleel Ahmad after detaining him.
  • December 6th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated equipment and documents as they stormed and searched a print shop during their raid into Ramallah city.
  • December 9th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated confiscated surveillance camera footage from "Al-Mustaqbal" car rental company and the home of Abdel-Hafith Al-Shayib and Silwad Poultry company during their raid into Silwad town.

  • December 3rd 2018: Israeli forces confiscated 50000 NIS and gold jewelry from the home of Mahmoud Hussien Nuwarat during their raid into Fasayil village.

Bethlehem:

  • December 19th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated farming equipment owned by Musa Hussien Tanouh after detaining him and his son near "Nikkodim" settlement located in east Teqou' town.

Hebron:

  • December 4th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle from the home of Yusef Ahmad Abu Hisham during their raid into Beit Ummar town.
  • December 5th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Adnan Abu Tabanat during their raid into Al-Thahriya town.
  • December 5th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Maher Abdel-Muh'sien Al-Atrash after detaining him as they stormed and searched his home during their raid into Halhul town.

Khan Yunis:

  • December 15th 2018: Israeli naval forces confiscated a fishing boat off the shores of Al-Nussirat camp after detaining 4 fishermen {including a child}.

Rafah:

  • December 10th 2018: Israeli Naval forces confiscated a fishing boat after detaining 2 fishermen off the shores of Rafah city.
  • December 25th 2018: Israeli Naval vessels confiscated a fishing boat off the shores of Rafah city.

 Settlement Activity:

  • December 8th 2018: The Israeli occupation forces issued a military order no. (06/966/2018) extending the water tanker from the settlement of Shvut Rachel to the settlement of Magdulim, 7 km above the lands of Qusri and Jalud villages and of the lands of the citizens in the village of Jalud with a length of more than 4 km. The land to be penetrated by the water line in 7 basins of the lands of Jalud village, the ponds carrying the numbers (23,22,19,18,16,14,13) The village of Qasri will be divided into 3 basins which are the basins carrying the numbers (4,3,1). The water line will destroy large areas of the land of the citizens in the villages of Jalud and Qasr.   • December 10th 2018: , a group of Israeli settlers organized a provocative march in the Old City of Jerusalem on the occasion of the end of the Hanukkah festival. The Talmudic rituals were held near the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. They shouted racist slogans calling for the expulsion of Islamic Waqfs from the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
  • December 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Kiryat Zever" settlement assaulted Nidal Al-Fuqiya {A resident of Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem city}.
  • December 16th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned in Bab Al-Khalil area in the old city of Jerusalem attacked a vehicle and broke its windshield.
  • December 16th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Bab Al-Amoud area in Jerusalem city, held signs inciting for violence and for the assassination of Mahmoud Abbas { The President of the State of Palestine} and also chanted racist slogans and called for killing of Arabs and the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in-order to replace it with the Jewish Temple.
  • December 20th 2018: Israeli settlers stormed Beit Hanina town, slashed the tires of approximately 40 vehicles owned by Awad, Al-Gharbali and Bruqan families {who homes are located near "Pesgat Za'iv" settlement} and spray painted anti-arab and racist slogans on the outer walls of several homes.
  • December 20th 2018: , a group of Israeli settlers assaulted Yusef Awaydat {A resident of Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

Ramallah &Al-Bireh:

  • December 5th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers attempted to enter agricultural land located in Al-Jiljil archaeological sites in Deir Abu Mash'al village {which consists of several archaeological land marks and caves} during which local residents were able to prevent the settlers from reaching the area.
  • December 5th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Turmus'aya village attacked a vehicle owned by Sa'id Talib {A town council member} and as a result damaged his vehicle.
  • December 9th 2018: An Israeli settler driving his vehicle near the entrance of Ni'lin town ran over Yusef Nafa' {60 years old} and as a result left him hospitalized with critical injuries and contusions.
  • December 11th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near the entrance of Beitin village located near "Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint near "Bet El" Settlement and stoned several vehicles passing in the area and as a result damaged several vehicles then withdrew at 02:25.
  • December 10th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Shilo" settlement stoned residents and vehicles passing along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus.

  • December 17th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Mazra'a Al-Gharbiya village and damaged several Green Houses and stole water-pipe hoses owned by Kamal Abdel-Hafith Shartih.
  • December 18th 2018: Israeli settlers from "Bet El" settlement stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road leading to Al-Jalazoun camp.
  • December 20th 2018: a group of Israeli settler under the protection of the Israeli military leveled 500 dunums of agricultural land owned by residents of Um Safa village and located near "Atarit" settlement in an attempt to confiscate the land.
  • December 31st 2018: An Israeli settler vehicle travelling along the bypass road near Al-Mughier village ran over a herd of goats and as a result killed 30 goats owned by Khalid Soliman Abu Aliya and Salem Soliman Abu Aliya {Both residents of Al-Mughier village}.

Tubas:

  • December 12th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers riding a truck stormed Al-Farisiya area located in the North Jordan valley.
  • December 26th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed east Khilat Al-Mak'houl area in the North Jordan valley and installed several tents in the area.

Nablus:

  • December 10th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar" settlement junction located in North Huwara town chased a child who was collecting metal scrap in the area.
  • December 10th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Huwara town and stoned the home of Ahmad Lutfi.
  • December 10th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Huwara military checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles passing through the checkpoint.
  • December 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar" settlement located in North Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles and as a result injured a resident who was struck in the head.
  • December 13th 2018: Israeli settlers opened fire towards the home of Abdel-Bassit Ahmad {A resident of Assira Al-Qabliya village} which is located near "Yits'har settlement.
  • December 14th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Sahil area located in Deir Sharaf village stoned residents and vehicles.
  • December 14th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar" settlement junction located in North Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles.
  • December 15th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at the entrance of Qabalan town assaulted Rabi' Ratib Daraghma {A resident of Al-Libban Al-Sharqiya village}.
  • December 15th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Shavie Shamron" settlement junction stoned residents and vehicles.
  • December 16th 2018: Israeli settlers opened fire towards Al-Libban Al-Sharqiya village then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli military.
  • December 17th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed the entrance of Burqa village and removed several Palestinian flags.
  • December 18th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Nablus city to enter Joseph's Tomb then proceeded to curse at and slander Palestinian Police officers guarding the Tomb then withdrew at a later time.
  • December 18th 2018: Israeli settlers stormed Al-Kharoub area located in Assira Al-Qibliya village located near "Yitshar" settlement and leveled approximately 5 dunums of agricultural land then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
  • December 18th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem stoned residents and vehicles and as a result shattered the windshield of a vehicle owned by Jihad Nasser Abu Bakr{A resident of Jenin city}
  • December 19th 2018: an armed Israeli settler stormed the Al-Kharoub area of ​​the village of Asira al-Qibliya, located near the settlement of Yitzhar pointed his pistol towards and threatened to fire at a Palestinian TV news crew and near the Colonization and wall resistance committee during the filming a set piece about land that was recently razed by Israeli settlers.

  • December 23rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed the east area of Huwarat town and attempted to attack a home during which local residents were able to prevent them.
  • December 23rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitmar" settlement leveled a plot of land in Awarta village which is located near the settlement in an attempt to confiscate it.
  • December 25th  2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near the entrance of Burqat village stoned residents and vehicles and as a result smashed the windshields of several vehicles and then proceeded to stone several shops in the area and chopped of the limbs of several trees near the village entrance.

Qalqiliya:

  • December 11th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military stormed and mapped residential owned land located in east Jit village.
  • December 11th 2018: An Israeli settler opened fire towards vehicles travelling along the main road leading to Azzun town after unidentified individuals hurled a Molotov cocktail bomb towards his vehicle.
  • December 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Jit village, stoned several homes during which Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack.
  • December 15th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Kafr Laqif village junction stoned residents and vehicles traveling along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Nablus.
  • December 15th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers attempted to stormed Kafr Qaddum town during which several residents prevented Israeli settlers from storming the village.

Salfit:

  • December 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Zatara junction military checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles passing through the checkpoint and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Assad Salah Abdallah {A resident of Nablus city}.
  • December 14th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Thaer Sabah area located in Kafr Al-Dik town assaulted Raed Mohammad Abu Sayaef and his son.
  • December 15th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Za'tara junction military checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles.
  • December 18th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Yasuf village, slashed the tires of 8 vehicles owned by Ahmed Yassin, Nazmi Yassin, Mohammed Hamouda, Mujahid Atiani, Samer Yassin, Samir Yassin, Atiyani Atiyani, and Osama Yassin then spray-painted racist and anti-arab graffiti onto the outer walls of a home and mosque.
  • December 25th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Za'tara junction checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles and as a result left 2 residents: Osama Adel Hassan Dudan {a resident of Balata camp in Nablus city} and Ehab Majed Hassan Nada {A resident of Bethlehem city} hospitalized with contusions.

Bethlehem:

  • December 10th 2018: A group of settlers driving a private car near the village of Husan, stopped the vehicles of citizens, and offered them the amount of NIS 2000, in return for smashing the glass of their vehicles
  • December 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Kafr Itsiyon" settlement closed the main road connecting Bethlehem and Hebron districts then stoned several vehicles and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Kathim Mohammad Hamdan.
  • December 14th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned in the area between Nihalin and Al-Ju'ba villages stoned residents and vehicles travelling in the area.
  • December 15th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned near the south entrance of "Evrat" settlement stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road.
  • December 16th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned in the area between Nihalin and Al-Ju'ba villages stoned residents and vehicles passing through the area.
  • December 16th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Teqou' town assaulted Firas Antwan Jirieyis Dabdoub and as a result left him hospitalized with a fractured nose and contusions.
  • December 17th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Deir Mar Saba area located in Al-Ubidiya town and performed Talmudic rituals.
  • December 17th 2018: An Israeli settlers driving his vehicle near Al-Minat village junction ran over Mohammad Mahmoud Oda Ghazzal {A resident of Kisan village} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
  • December 19th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Khimar area located in North West Beitar village and leveled a plot of land and paved a 1 km long road in order to establish a settlement outpost in the area during which local residents were able to prevent them from continuing.
  • December 24th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Khamar area located in North east Beitar village, installed mobile homes in the area in an attempt to confiscate and set up a new settlement outpost during which Israeli forces prevented the local land owners from reaching the area.
  • December 25th 2018: An Israeli settlers vehicle traveling along the main road in Al-Waljat village ran over Dalia Omar Mahmoud Hamdan {19 years old} and as a result left her hospitalized with contusions.

Hebron:

  • December 2nd 2018: An Israeli settler stormed Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron and assaulted Bassam Abu Aisha and his family.
  • December 14th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Tuwani village located near "Migon" settlement in east Yatta towm and uprooted and sawed off the limbs of several Olive trees.
  • December 15th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned near "Hagi" settlement located in south Hebron city stoned residents and vehicles.
  • December 18th 2018: Israeli settlers from "Ador" settlement stormed agricultural land in Al-Taybeh area located in Tarqumiya town and chopped off the limbs of approximately 100 Olive trees.
  • December 19th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned in Khrobat area located in east Yatta town assaulted several members of Al-Ruba'i family as they attempted to confiscate their agricultural land.
  • December 25th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Beit Beitar" settlement located in south east Yatta town uprooted 200 Olive trees owned by Barakat Mohammad Mar.
  • December 25th 2018: Israeli settlers from "Susiya" settlement located in south east Yatta town ploughed approximately 12 dunums of land owned by Al-Nawaj'at family.
  • December 25th 2018: Israeli settlers stormed Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood on the old city of Hebron installed several tents in the area in an attempt to confiscate the land and add it to "Ramat Yasha" settlement.
  • December 28th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned in Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron assaulted Hatem Samih Al-Muhtasib and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

Closure of Crossing Points

The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 147 occasions during the month of December 2018. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 107 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 26 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 22 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.

 

 

The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 40 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed on 9 occasions. has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
