Monthly Summary of Israeli Violations

The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 February 2017 to 28 February 2017. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of February 2017

  • February 2nd 2017: Israeli forces positioned near Salem, Azzmout and Deir Al-Hatab villages in east Nablus city fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 3 residents {including 2 children}: Ahmad Yusef Mohammad Abu Daoud {17 years old}, Alaa Nassar Ahmad Zaghal {16 years old} and Hadi Mohammad Musa Mesimi leaving them hospitalized.
  • February 3rd 2017: A demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum village against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach the demonstration site and as a result injured Nisreen Al-Shami {after she was struck by a rubber coated steel bullet to the eye} and left several demonstrators suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • February 3rd 2017: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green line opened fire towards several residents located east Al-Buriej camp as they were participating in demonstrations protesting the Israeli Military and settler attack on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and as a result injured the child: Ali Nabeel Washah {17 years old}.
  • February 6th 2017: Israeli Military Jets launched missiles towards Palestinian gunmen located in North West Beit Lahiya town and as a result injured 2 residents: Mohammad Sa'edallah {70 years old} and Ahmad Farid Sa'edallah {27 years old}.
  • February 8th 2017: A Israeli settler vehicle travelling along road {60} near “Danaiel” settlement located in Al-Khadar town ran over Suliman Hamad Mohammad Hamad {81 years old} {A resident of Al-Khader town} and as a result killed him
  • February 10th 2017: Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets; stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning during clashes in Dura' Al-Qari' town and as a result injured the child: Mohammad Hazim Sami Farhoud {16 years old}.
  • February 10th 2017: The Palestinian Detainee Mohammad Ammar Thabet Al-Jallad (24 years old) {A cancer Patient} {A citizen of the United States of America} {A resident of Tulkarem} died as a result Medical negligence by medical staff as he was in a Israeli Hospital after he was shot in the abdomen by Israeli soldiers on November 9th 2016 while being detained at Huwara checkpoint in Nablus.
  • February 10th 2017: Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators participating in a demonstration against the closure of Kafr Qaddum village’s east entrance and as a result injured Nidal Ishtayeh leaving him hospitalized.
  • February 16th 2017: Samid Fihmi Abu Shanab {29 years old} {A resident of Khan Yunis city} died of injuries sustained in 2005 as he was receiving treatment at a hospital in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
  • February 19th 2017: Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Bazariya village fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Osama Yusef Abdel-Latif Odah {15 years old} {A resident of Bazariya village} leaving him hospitalized.
  • February 24th 2017: demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum village against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach the demonstration site and as a result injured 2 residents including a child: Mohammad Hilmi Ishtewi {11 years old} and Abdallah Saleem {26 years old} and left several demonstrators suffocated from tear gas inhalation then temporarily detained a Palestine Television news crew and several local and International journalists and released then at a later time.
  • February 24th 2017: demonstration took place in the old city of Hebron protesting against settlement construction , demanding the reopening of Al-Shuhada road and peoples freedom of movement during which Israeli Military forces clashed with protesters and as a result injured 4 residents{including 2 women and a child}: Siham Musa Abu Aram, Sana Abdel-Qadder Amro, Mufid Mohammad Shaker Al-Sharabati (13 years old) and Mohammad Hisham Obied leaving them hospitalized with contusions and also assaulted Imad Assa'ied (A journalist) leaving him hospitalized with contusions.
  • February 27th 2017: Israeli forces positioned at Qalandiya checkpoint opened fire towards and injured Manar Rbhi Mujahid {30 years old} {A resident of Kafr Aqab} and Khadijah Khalaf Mohammad Saramih {65 years old} {A resident of Al-Eizariya} leaving them hospitalized then detained them.
  • February 27th 2017: the child Abdallah Billal Mohammad {14 years old} {A resident of Al-Mughier village} was injured after an Israeli Military UXO detonated in east Al-Mughier village.
  • February 28th 2017: Israeli forces positioned near "Bargha" settlement junction opened fire towards Hussein Hassan Ibrahim Qawariq {57 years old} {A special needs patient} {A resident of Awrata village} and as a result left him hospitalized with leg injury.

  • On January 31st 2017, Israeli Military forces served Military order T/15/08 for the confiscation of 36.88 acres of land in Bardala village located near the wall in the North Jordan valley.
  • On January 31st 2017, Israeli Military forces served a Military for the confiscation of 17 dunums {acres} of land located in Qabalan and Aqraba town and Osarin and Yatma villages for alleged security purposes.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli forces served a military order for the extension of order T/12/03 which confiscates 274.5 acres of residential owned land for Military purposes until December 31st 2019.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli forces served a military order for the extension of order T/71/06 which confiscates 0.208 acres of residential owned land for Military purposes until December 31st 2019.
  • On February 16th 2017, Israeli Authorities in Jerusalem city approved the confiscation of a plot of land {approximately 300 square meters} owned by Ghazlan Family in Silwan neighborhood then proceeded to post signs in Arabic and Hebrew stating {That the plot will be used as a public park} as well as a Map of the area confiscated.

During the month of February  2017, the Israeli military Occupied  9 Palestinian homes and converted their rooftops into Military posts which consisted of the following: 

 

Jerusalem:

  • On February 9th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military forces stormed Hush Qara’in area in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city and seized the home of Arraf Qara’in including 2 rooms owned by the Qara’in families after they removed old doors and installed new ones as they occupied the home.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • On February 5th 2017, Israeli forces occupied the home of Ahmad Saleem Mohammad Safwan which is located near "Psagot" settlement on the east area of the city then converted its rooftop into a Military post during their raid into Al-Bireh city.

Bethlehem:

  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli forces occupied the home of Tayseer Ahmad Sa’id Al-Sha’er during their raid into Teqou’ town and converted its rooftop into a military post.
  • On February 17th 2017, Israeli forces occupied 2 homes owned by Daoud Ahmad Al-Amour and Ahmad Musa Al-Amour then converted their rooftops into Military posts during their raid into Teqou' town.
  • On February 21st 2017, Israeli forces occupied a home owned by Mohammad Judah Abu Aher during their raid into Wadi Rahal village and converted its rooftop into a military post.

Hebron:

  • On February 7th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Khursa village and occupied a home owned by Yusef Shahatit then converted its rooftop into military post.
  • On February 17th 2017, Israeli forces occupied the rooftops of 2 homes owned by Ahmad Al-Subati and Khalid Al-Subati during their raid into Beit Awwa town

During the month of February 2017, the Israeli military demolished 20 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

Jerusalem:

  • On February 7th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Beit Hanina town and demolished a home {consisting of 4 floors and 3 separate apartments} owned by Adel Abu Sineneh and Zakaraiya Musa Anati for allegedly being built without a license.
  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Tel Al-Fol area located in Beit Hanina town and demolished a home {under construction} owned by Ameen Abu Rumeleh for allegedly being built without a license.
  • On February 14th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Al-Eisawiya village and demolished a home {under construction} owned by Hassan Yassin Mustafa for allegedly being built without a license.
  • On the morning of February 14th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Al-Eisawiya village and demolished a home owned by Salah Tarak for allegedly being built without a license
  • On February 15th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Hizma town and forced Malik Al-Khatib to demolish a section of his home{ A Bathroom made from cement blocks and a tin steel roof} after he received a military order for its demolition and was ordered to pay a financial penalty.
  • On February 15th 2017, Israeli forces demolished 2 homes {one of which is under construction} and a storage room owned by Abdel-Azziz Al-Khatib {Owner of a home}, Jaber Akrama Othaman Hassan {Owner of the home under construction} and Abdallah Al-Khatib { owner of the storage room} during their raid into Hizma town.
  • On February 18th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Al-Farouq area located in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city and forced a resident from Al-Qara'in family to demolish his 60 m home and imposed a hefty fine for being built without a license.
  • On February 18th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Ayoub area in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city and forced Saleh Shweiky demolish his 80 m home and imposed a hefty fine for being built without a license.
  • On February 20th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Al-Khan Al-Ahmar area near a Bedouin community and demolished a trailer.
  • On February 22nd 2017, Israeli forces stormed Beit Hanina town and demolished a home {120 m} owned by Loai Awni Abu Ramouz for allegedly being built without a license.

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of January the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 368 in February 2017 (compared with 508 in January 2017 and 457 in December 2016) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli forces occupied the home of Tayseer Ahmad Sa’id Al-Sha’er during their raid into Teqou’ town and converted its rooftop into a military post.
  • On February 17th 2017, Israeli forces occupied 2 homes owned by Daoud Ahmad Al-Amour and Ahmad Musa Al-Amour then converted their rooftops into Military posts during their raid into Teqou' town.
  • On February 21st 2017, Israeli forces occupied a home owned by Mohammad Judah Abu Aher during their raid into Wadi Rahal village and converted its rooftop into a military post.
  • On February 7th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Khursa village and occupied a home owned by Yusef Shahatit then converted its rooftop into military post.
  • On February 17th 2017, Israeli forces occupied the rooftops of 2 homes owned by Ahmad Al-Subati and Khalid Al-Subati during their raid into Beit Awwa town

 

 Attacks on Public and Private Property

Attack on Public and Private property occurred as follows per District:

Jerusalem:

  • On February 14th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Hizma town and forced Malik Al-Khatib to demolish a section of his home{ A Bathroom made from cement blocks and a tin steel roof} after he received a military order for its demolition and was ordered to pay a financial penalty.
  • On February 20th 2017, Israeli forces positioned in Ras Al-Amoud area in Jerusalem city installed a fence around the home of Owies family for alleged vandalism of a Jewish cemetery by the children of the family.

Ramallah:

  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli forces positioned in Turmus'aya town prevented residents from entering their agricultural land which is under threat of confiscation by the Israeli Military.
  • On February 16th 2017, Israeli forces closed a steel mill after confiscating its equipment during their raid into Beit Liqya village.

 

Tubas:

  • On February 7th 2017, Israeli forces demolished 2 structures owned by Bassam Ali Radi Fuqaha {A resident of Bardala village} near Bardala village located in the North Jordan valley.
  • On February 7th 2017, Israeli forces demolished a livestock structure owned by Ali Izat Yusef Bani Odeh in Al-Ras Area located in the North Jordan Valley.
  • On February 20th 2017, Israeli forces destroyed a water pipeline approximately 8.5 {km long} in the area between Khirbeit Attuf and Al-Hadadiya villages in the North Jordan valley.

 

Nablus:

  • On February 4th 2017, Israeli forces escorting a group of Israeli settlers from "Alon Moriya" settlement located near Salim village and chased away several shepherds herding their sheep near the village.
  • On February 16th 2017, Israeli forces broke down the doors of 3 Apartment entrances owned by Nassar Jihad Mufdi as they stormed and searched an apartment building during their raid into Huwara town.
  • On February 22nd 2017, Israeli forces removed 30 families from their homes in Khirbiet Tana area located in east Beit Furiq until 17:00 for alleged military training in the area.

Hebron:

  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli forces sealed off the entrances of a home owned by Mahmoud Yassin Ibrahim Khalil Abu Munshar located along Al-Shuhada road located in the old city of Hebron.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli forces prevented several residents and international peace activists from entering land located near Al-Nubani village in east Yatta town which is under threat of Israeli Military confiscation from entering the area.
  • On February 13th 2017, Israeli forces closed Al-Okhwa {Brothers} Association during their raid into Deir Samit village during which local residents were able to reopen it at a later time.

 

Confiscation of Property:

Jerusalem:

  • On February 18th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a computer from the home of Eyad Eliyas Rabi' during their raid into Beit Anan town.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • On February 16th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated equipment form a steel mill then closed down the mill.

Jenin:

  • On February 14th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a computer and a cellular telephone owned by Abdallah Ali Al-Khalili after storming and searching his home as they detained him during their raid into Faqou'a village..
  • On February 23rd 2017, Israeli forces confiscated clothing shipments from a merchant shop owned by Mohammad Al-Makhzami during their raid into in Barta'a Al-Sharqiya village.

Tubas:

  • On February 6th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Bardala village in the North Jordan Valley and confiscated 3 Bulldozers {2 are owned by Al-Jara'i Company and 1 is owned by Abdel-Ghaffar Abdel-Raziq} as they were paving a road between Bardala and Khirbiet Ibziq villages.
  • February 11th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated 4 water pipe lines as they stormed Al-Hadadiya village in the North Jordan valley and temporarily seized a vehicle owned by Nassar Mohammad Bani Odeh then took him to "Roghi" settlement.
  • February 21st 2017, Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near Ein Al-Bayda village junction confiscated a vehicle owned Qadri Yusef Bisharat for containing soil pesticides as they temporarily detained him.
  • February 27th 2017, Israeli forces positioned in Khirbit Al-Ras Al-Ahmar area located in the North Jordan valley confiscated 4 construction vehicles {2 trucks and 2 bulldozers} owned by Mohammad Fakhri Daraghmeh, Ahmad Thiyab Ab u Khiziran, Mo'ayad Fakhri Daraghma and Mohammad Eid Basharat.

Qalqiliya:

  • On February 3rd 2017, Israeli forces confiscated 840 NIS from children: Sabri Mohammad Ahmad {16 years old} and Mahdi Mohammad Ahmad {13 years old} after temporarily detaining them near the wall gate in Azzun Atma village.
  • On February 4th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Kamal Bayan Al-Habash after they stormed and searched a vehicle spare parts shop during their raid into Qalqilya city.

Nablus:

  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a Solid waste truck owned by The Village Council of Hajja village located near a dumping site between Jayyous and Sa’ir village.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Samer Rawhi Mahmoud Adeli after detaining him during their raid into Osarin village
  • On February 16th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Mohammad Ali Ahmad Sa'adeh {A resident of Huwara town} along the main road of Huwara town then detaining him.

Salfit:

  • On February 5th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage after an alleged firebombing attack near the main road during their raid into Qurwat Bani Hassan town.

Jericho:

  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated farming equipment after storming and searching an agricultural storage room owned by Na’el Mustafa Yusef Bani Odeh during their raid into Al-Jiftlik village.

Bethlehem:

  • On February 2nd 2017, Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from the shop owned by Ramzi Amereh during their raid into Husan village.
  • On February 9th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated 1000 NIS from Waseem Fawaz Shuhan {A resident of Yatta town in Hebron city} after searching his vehicle near the entrance of Beit Fajjar town.
  • On February 27th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from Nimr Issa Awad's home during their raid into Beit Sahour city.

Hebron:

  • On February 9th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Nafith Rasmi Al-Shawamrah after storming and searching his home during their raid into Deir Al-Assal village.
  • On February 17th 2017, Israeli forces confiscated computers and document files owned by Majdi Al-Karaki as they stormed and searched the Polytechnic University during their raid into Hebron city.
  • On February 20th 2017, Israeli forces positioned neat the entrance of Beit Ummar town confiscated A Fuel storage tank truck owned by Sabri Zamal Abu Mariya for not being licensed.
  • On February 22nd 2017, Israeli forces confiscated 3 vehicles owned by Riziq Al-Rajoub, Nayef Al-Rajoub and Imad Jadallah during their raid into Dura town.

North Gaza:

  • On February 21st 2017, Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat after detaining 5 fishermen off the shores of Al-Waha area located in North West Beit Lahiya.

Land Confiscation:

During the Month of February 2017, the Israeli Military served 5 Military Orders for the confiscation of Public and privately owned property which includes:

  • On January 31st 2017, Israeli Military forces served Military order T/15/08 for the confiscation of 36.88 acres of land in Bardala village located near the wall in the North Jordan valley.
  • On January 31st 2017, Israeli Military forces served a Military for the confiscation of 17 dunums {acres} of land located in Qabalan and Aqraba town and Osarin and Yatma villages for alleged security purposes.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli forces served a military order for the extension of order T/12/03 which confiscates 274.5 acres of residential owned land for Military purposes until December 31st 2019.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli forces served a military order for the extension of order T/71/06 which confiscates 0.208 acres of residential owned land for Military purposes until December 31st 2019.
  • On February 16th 2017, Israeli Authorities in Jerusalem city approved the confiscation of a plot of land {approximately 300 square meters} owned by Ghazlan Family in Silwan neighborhood then proceeded to post signs in Arabic and Hebrew stating {That the plot will be used as a public park} as well as a Map of the area confiscated.

Settlement Activity:

  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli authorities approved plans for the construction of 1162 new settlement units on several Israeli settlements scattered across the West Bank on land occupied in 1967.
  • On February 8th 2017, Israeli Authorities in the Municipality of Jerusalem city approved plans for the construction of 181 settlement units on “Ramat Shlomo” and “Gilo” settlement located in North and South Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.
  • On February 9th 2017, Israeli authorities opened a path “The Pool of the Temple" near the area of the historic Umayyad palaces which is located south of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the old city of Jerusalem on Land occupied in 1967.
  • On February 23rd 2017, Israeli forces levelled land located near "Avni Havits" settlement on land in Izbit Shufa village.
  • On February 23rd 2017, Israeli forces levelled a plot of land in Saq'ir town owned by Al-Shaladah family.

40 incidents of Settler violence occurred during the month of February 2017 including:

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • On February 5th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers escorted by Israeli Military forces stormed agricultural land in Sahil area located in Turmus'aya town during which they detained 2 residents: Hijaz Abdel-Qadder Hijaz and Mazin Ibrahim Hijaz as they attempted prevent the settler attacks.
  • On February 7th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Ofra" settlement located in Silwad town threw stones at Zuheir Abu Hassan {A journalist} as he was exiting his vehicles to film the evacuation of "Amona" settlement and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
  • On February 10th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land near Turmus'aya town then uprooted and chopped the limbs of several Olive trees which planted by several International peace activists and residents on land under threat of confiscation by the Israeli Military.

 

Jenin:

  • On February 28th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Homish" settlement junction {which was previously abandoned} stoned residents and vehicles passing near the area.

Tubas:

  • On February 7th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Samra area located in the North Jordan valley attacked several shepherds who were herding their goats and also damaged crops owned by Imad Abdel-Rahman Daraghmeh.
  • On February 9th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Ein Al-Hilwah area located in the North Jordan valley as they chased several Sheppard’s who were herding their sheep in the area and then raised Israeli flags near "Miskot" settlement.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli settlers stormed Ras Al-Hamra area in the North Jordan valley and placed mobile homes in the area
  • On February 17th 2017, a group of armed Israeli settlers stormed Jabal Al-Lahif area located in east Tubas city then proceeded to storm Khirbiet Yarza and terrorized several shepherds herding sheep in the area during which the killed a goat owned by Mahmoud Awad Mohammad Ayoub.
  • On February 18th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khilat Hamad area located in the North Jordan valley and threatened several residents in the area.
  • On February 19th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khilat Hamad area located in the North Jordan valley and prevented several residents from herding live stock on agricultural land in the area.
  • On February 21st 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khilat Hamad located in the North Jordan valley assaulted several shepherds herding their livestock thus forcing them to leave the area.
  • On February 22nd 2017, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military stormed Khilat Hamad area located in the North Jordan Valley area and prevented several shepherds from herding their livestock in the area.

Nablus:

  • On February 4th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar"settlement located near Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road near the settlement and also assaulted Salamah Saleem Odeh {A resident of Huwara town}.
  • On February 6th 2017, Israeli settlers stormed Madma village and occupied a plot of land and a water well during which Israeli Military forces temporarily detained a Palestine Television news crew as they were reporting on the incident then released them at a later time.
  • On February 6th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Burqa village and chopped off the limbs of 409 Olive trees owned by Khalid Hussien Salah.
  • On February 6th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in east Burin village and forcibly removed Mohammad Raja Al-Zien from the area as he was farming his land.
  • On February 6th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military forces stormed Qaryout village then placed a barbed wire fence around a plot of agricultural land which was confiscated by the Israeli Military at a previous time.
  • On February 8th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the area between Mukhmas and Burqa villages and installed several tents in the area.
  • On February 8th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Jalloud village and levelled 15 dunums of agricultural land.

  • On February 9th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Kafr Qaddum village {which is located near “Qadumim” settlement} and assaulted Mohammad Rashid Mohammad Abdallah {A resident of Kafr Qaddum village} thus preventing him from farming his land.
  • On February 10th 2017, Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military stormed agricultural land in Madma village during which Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards residents who attempted to prevent the Israeli settler attack and as a result injured 2 residents: Mahmoud Abdel-Ghani Ziyadeh and Mohammad Na'im Nassar and also left Salah Mohammad Jaber suffocated from tear gas inhalation and left them hospitalized.
  • On February 10th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Burin village located near "Bargha" settlement
  • On February 11th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the bypass road near Burqa village and stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the road.
  • On February 17th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers {Under the protection of Israeli Forces} stormed Madma village during which Israeli soldiers fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack.
  • On February 23rd 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Jabal Al-Qa'da area located near Madma village
  • On February 23rd 2017, a group of Israeli settlers assaulted Nasser Ghassan Tumayzi {A resident of Huwara town} and as a result left him hospitalized
  • On February 28th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Deir Sharaf village junction {located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem} stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the road.
  • On February 28th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitzhar" settlement located in North Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles travelling in the area.

Salfit:  

  • On February 20th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the south area of Deir Istiya town and demolished a Water well network owned by Jaber Aqel.
  • On February 25th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near “Immanuel” settlement stoned residents and vehicles travelling near Wadi Qana road {which connects Qalqiliya and Salfit districts}.

Jericho:

  • On February 9th 2017, Israeli settlers stormed Al-Sad area located in Al-Oja village.

 

Bethlehem:

  • On February 9th 2017, Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Khader town and uprooted approximately 400 Olive trees owned by Ali Ahmad Ismail Issa
  • On February 16th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military stormed the entrance of Husan village, closed the main road with their vehicles thus impeding the free flow of traffic.
  • On February 24th 2017, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military forces stormed the west entrance of Teqou' town, closed the steel gate entrance and impeded the free flow

 

Hebron:

  • On February 4th 2017, two Israeli settler riding a vehicle stormed the south entrance of Hebron city during which it was stopped by Palestinian Intelligence officers and turned over to the Israeli Military.
  • On February 15th 2017, Israeli settlers attacked a home owned by Al-Fakhouri family in the old city of Hebron.
  • On February 16th 2017, a Israeli settler vehicles travelling near the entrance of Beit Ummar town ran over Ra'fat Shihadeh Mohammad Masalmat {35 years old}{A resident of Deir Sammit village} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions
  • On February 21st 2017, a group of Israeli settlers attacked several homes as they stormed Tel Al-Rumyada neighborhood in the old city of Hebron.

Closure of Crossing Points

The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 145 occasions during the month of February 2017. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 94 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 24 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 22 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.

 

 

 

The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 51 occasions. Rafah Crossing was open for 4 days to allow access to civilians departing the Gaza Strip and to those arriving from Egypt. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
