The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 July 2021 to 31 July 2021. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

 

 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of  July  2021

  • On 07/01/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Jabal Sobeih area in the town of Beita, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects and as a result injured 6 civilians, and left 55 civilians suffocated due to inhalation of tear gas.
  • On 07/02/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita fired live ammunition and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects and as a result wounded 50 civilians (7 Citizens of them were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the others were treated on the field), and 79 civilians suffocated as a result of tear gas inhalation.
  • On 07/03/2021, a group of settlers entered the agricultural lands of the citizens in the southern area of ​​the town of Qusra, and attacked a number of citizens during which Israeli occupation forces intervened and fired live ammunition and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens while they were trying to confront the settlers, and as a result killed Muhammad Farid Ali Hassan, 20 years old, while he was on the roof of his house and injured 4 civilians , as they tried to confront the settlers.
  • On 07/05/202, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita, fired stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, for alleged stoning and as a result left 11 citizens suffocated from tear gas canisters.
  • On 07/08/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned near the entrance to the town of Qusra fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas at citizens participating in a demonstration to demand the handover of the body of: Muhammad Farid Hassan, wounding 17 citizens, and lefts 27 citizens suffocating from tear gas inhalation.

  • On 07/27/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets, stun
    and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, wounding 20 civilians and left 72 civilians suffocated from tear gas inhalation then detained 2 citizens.
  • On 07/27/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned near Ain al-Hilweh area in the northern Jordan Valley fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a mass activity against settlements in the Ain al-Hilweh area, wounding 20 citizens, and left 42 citizens suffocated from tear gas, including The governor of Tubas Governorate, and the head of the Settlement and Wall Resistance Committee.
  • On 07/28/2021, Muhammad Muayyad Al-Alami, 11 years old - a resident of Beit Ummar town was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards his father's car while he was inside it at the entrance to the town of Beit Ummar

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of December 2020,he Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

Home Demolition

●       On 07/01/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the village of Beit Safafa forced the citizen: Izzat Ziada to demolish his apartment himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a license.

●       On 07.02. 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Ayman Badr Abu Al-Dawla, to personally demolish his 40-square-meter house (consisting of a second floor), which was built of reinforced iron and gypsum, after notifying him at an earlier time in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carry out the demolition process, on the pretext of not having a license.

●       On 07.04. 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the village of Al-Isawiya forced the citizen: Muhammad Adnan Darwish, to personally demolish his house (under construction), after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carry out the demolition process, on the pretext that there was no licensing.

●       On 07.06. 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the family of the citizen: Ahmed Abu Ghannam, to demolish their 3-storey house themselves, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities under the pretext of not having a license.

●       On 07.07. 2021, the occupation forces in the village of Khirbet Humsa al-Fouqa in the northern Jordan Valley demolished 11 citizens’ homes and animal pens (for the seventh time in a row).

●       On 07.07.2021,  the Israeli occupation forces demolished a house owned by the prisoner: Montaser Al-Shalabi., in the town of Turmusaya,

●       On 07/12/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Wadi Qaddoum area in the Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Muhammad Nassar Al-Husseini, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit.

●       On 07/12/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Jamal Ajaj, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit.

●       On 07/12/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities forced the citizen: Ezzat Khalil Issa Ziada to demolish his house himself, after I notified him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines, near the tunnel street behind the racist separation wall near the settlement of Gilo, which is built on the lands of the city of Beit Jala. In the event that the occupation authorities carry out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit.

●       On 07/14/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Bedouin community of al-Qaboun near the village of al-Mughayer, demolished 5 houses, tents and (barracks) used for housing the Bedouin citizens, under the pretext of not having a permit.
