The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 June 2018 to June 30 2018. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations... The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

  • June 1st 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards towards several demonstrators in east Khan Yunis city in commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Al-Nakba {Catastrophe} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Razan Ashraf Abdel-Qadder Al-Najjar {21 years old} {A Paramedic}{A resident of Khuz'a town}}, injured 9 residents and left 40 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 1st 2018: Safiya Omar Qa'awer {a journalist} was hospitalized after being struck in his back by a tear gas canister during clashes in Wadi Al-Hums area located in North Dar Salah village as he was attempting to enter Jerusalem for prayers in Al-Aqsa mosque compounds .
  • June 2nd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed the east area of Orif village, attacked several residents and as a result injured 3 residents: Salim Jameel Shehadeh {73 years old}, Obada Mohammed Shehadeh, and Raed Mahmoud Sabah during which Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack and as a result injured 3 residents {including a child}:Bahjat Mustafa Ahmed Safadi, Bilal Yousef Safadi {16 years old}, and Anas Malik Mahmoud Sabah.
  • June 2nd 2018: Israeli forces opened fire towards and killed: Rami Wahid Hassan Sabarneh {36 years old} {A resident of Beit Ummar town} as he was operating a small bulldozer with a contractor to expand the street and rehabilitation of infrastructure in Jaber neighborhood in the old city of Hebron for allegedly not stopping work and attempting to run over a soldier.
  • June 3rd 2018: Mohammad Na'im Hamadah {30 years old}{A resident of Jabaliya town} died of serious injuries sustained after being wounded by the Israeli Military during clashes in east Jabaliya town on May 14th 2018.
  • June 4th 2018: Israeli forces opened fire towards 2 residents who attempted to climb the border fence into Israel from east Khan Yunis city and as a result killed Ramzi Mohammed Salim Al-Najjar {30 years old} {A resident of Khuz'a town} {then seized his corpse} while the other resident managed to flee the area.
  • June 6th 2018: Israeli forces opened fire towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Nabi Saleh village and as a result killed Iz Al-Din Abdel-Hafeeth Al-Tamimi {21 years old}.
  • June 7th 2018: Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed several homes and as a result injured 8 residents {including 1 critically injury and a child}:Mohammad Jamil Mohammed Esteitah, Madin Rabah Dawood (seriously injured), Ali Wajih Ali Zerba, Raed Ammar Joury {17 years old}, Hamza Yahya Saeed Awartani, Said Hossam Saeed Dasouki, Fadi Kamal Jamil Sualma and Azzeddine Abdel Haq during their raid into Nablus city.
  • June 8th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in North Beit Hanuon town in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Imad Nabil Ali Darbi {20 years old} {A resident of Beit Lahiya town}, injured 26 residents {including a journalist and Paramedic}:{of those identified are}: Mohammad Abdel-Raziq Al-Baba {A journalist} and Rami Khamis Ali {A paramedic}  and left 102 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 8th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Gaza city in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Yusef Salim Khalil Al-Fasih {29 years old}{A resident of Gaza city}, injured 31 residents and left 84 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 8th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuza'a town in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Ziyad Jadallah Abdel Kader Al-Burim {28 years old}{A resident of Bani Shila town} injured 39 residents {including a paramedic} and left 139 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 8th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards towards several demonstrators in east Rafah city in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed the child: Hytham Mohammad Khalil Al-Jamal {15 years old}{A resident of Rafah city} injured 9 residents and left 77 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 14th 2018: Ahmad Ziyad Tawfiq {21 years old}{A resident of Khan Yunis city} died of serious head injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrator's in east Khan Yunis city on June 8th 2018.
  • June 14th 2018: Israeli forces injured Ali Mohammad Hamad Talib after ramming him with an Israeli Military Jeep during their raid into Jenin camp.
  • June 18th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents near the border fence in east Gaza city and as a result killed Sabri Ahmad Abu Khdeir {24 years old}{A resident of Gaza city}and injured another unidentified resident.
  • June 18th 2018: the Child :Zakariya Hussien Bashbash {13 years old}{A resident of Al-Maghazi camp} died of serious injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Al-Buriej camp on June 8th 2018.
  • June 20th 2018: Mohammad Ghassan Abu Daqa {22 years old} {a resident of Khan Yunis city} died of serious injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Khan Yunis city on June 14th 2018.
  • June 21st 2018: Israeli forces fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Beit Fajjar town and as a result injured 5 residents including 2 children: Khalil Ibrahim Thawabta, Kamil Mahmoud Taqatqa {12 years old}, Mohammad Waleed Abu Halil {11 years old}, Hisham Mohammad Dariya and Mohammad Ahmad Abdel-Lattif Thawabta.
  • June 24th 2018: Osama Khalil Abu Khater {29 years old} {a resident of Khan Yunis city} died of injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Khan Yunis city on June 22nd 2018.
  • June 25th 2018: Israeli forces raided Nablus city and Kafr Qalil village as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers who stormed the site of Joseph's Tomb in the city during which they clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured 5 residents {including a child}:Abdallah Mohammad Ibrahim Mir'i, Ahmad Abdallah Mir'i, Nisrin Al-Shami, Yamen Allan Al-Shami {14 years old} and Tariq Abdallah Al-Bana {All are residents of Marj Na'ja village located in Jericho district}  and detained 7 residents then withdrew at 08:00.
  • June 27th 2018: Israeli forces positioned at Military checkpoint (300} located at the North entrance of Bethlehem city assaulted Farouq Hana Sa'ed Insatas {73 years old} {mental disability patient} {A resident of Beit Jalla city and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
  • June 28th 2018: the child Abdel-Fattah Mustafa Mohammad Abu Azzam {17 years old} {a resident of Rafah city} died of injuries sustained after he was struck by a tank artillery shrapnel launched towards 2 residents in Rafah city on June 27th 2018.
  • June 29th 2018:  Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents participating in protests commemorating the Right of Return in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city and as a result killed the child:  Yasser Amjad Musa Abu Al-Najja {14 years old}, injured 26 residents and left 85 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

During the Month of June 2018 Israeli courts in Occupied Jerusalem issued the following expulsion orders:

  • June 5th 2018:  Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued military orders for Kareem Alqam {A resident of Jerusalem city} banning him from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound for a period of 15 days as a condition for his release after he was detained by Israeli forces at an earlier time.
  • June 5th 2018:   Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued military orders for Ahmad Al-Shafadi {A resident of Jerusalem city} banning him from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound until July 1st 2018 as a condition for his release after he was detained by Israeli forces at an earlier time.
  • June 26th 2018:  Israeli Authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order for the deportation of Uday Sinokrot {A resident of Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood in Jerusalem city} from his home in Jerusalem city to the West Bank for a period of 6 months as a condition for his release from Israeli Police custody after being detained and imprisoned for 32 days.

  • June 30th 2018:    Israeli forces stormed Al-Shuhada' road in the old city of Hebron and occupied a home owned by Muffed Al-Sharabati then converted its rooftop into a military post after forcibly removing residents from their home and preventing them from returning their home for alleged stoning towards Israeli settlers in the area.

During the month of June 2018, the Israeli military demolished 9 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • June 20th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Hussien Mohammad Khalil Wihiesh in Abu Dis town for allegedly being built without a license.
  • June 20th 2018:  Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Ali Hassan Imteir in Qalandiya village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • June 21st 2018: Israeli forces demolished the apartment of Ala Ratib Qubha {A Palestinian Detainee} {the 150 square meters located on the 4th floor of a building owned by his father} during their raid into Bart'a Al-Sharqiya village.
  • June 25th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Wadi Yasoul area in Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem city forced Assad Al-Shuwiky to demolish 2 homes {under construction} for allegedly being built without a license and fined him.
  • June 25th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Sur Baher village and forced Ibrahim Amayra to demolish his home {after removing his personal belongings} for allegedly being built without a license and fined him.
  • June 26th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Hussien Izat Al-Kiswani and Mohammad Izat Al-Kiswani in Beit Hanina city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • June 26th 2018: the Israeli military dismantled a residential trailer owned by Al-Hamamda family in Khirbeit Al-Al-Mafaqra village located in south east Yatta town and confiscated it.

  • June 7th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers during which Israeli Police forces sprayed pepper spray onto the face of several worshipers.
  • June 21st 2018: a group of Israeli settlers, several Rabbis and The Israeli Minister of Interior stormed Al-Ibrahimi Mosque compound in the old city of Hebron and performed Talmudic rituals thus preventing the call to evening prayers at the mosque.
  • June 25th 2018: The Israeli Minister of Religious Services David Azulai under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound in the old city of Hebron.

  • June 2nd 2018: Israeli forces began to expand the settlement of "Negohot" located residential owned land in Faqiqis located west of Dura town, after it decided about 3 months ago to confiscate about 210 dunums near the settlement and put two houses on it.
  • June 10th 2018: Israeli forces positioned in Thaghrat Hamad area located in Al-Kahder town installed a steel gate at the entrance of a plot of land owned by Ghnayim family and also installed 10 storage containers on a plot of land owned by Dabash family.
  • June 19th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Khilat Makhoul area located near "Hemdat" settlement in the North Jordan valley and leveled approximately 40 dunums of privately owned land.

Analysis of Events

Killings

A total of  17 residents were killed by Israeli forces during the month of June  2018 {2 in the West Bank and 15 in Gaza}:

  • June 1st 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khan Yunis city in commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Al-Nakba {Catastrophe} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Razan Ashraf Abdel-Qadder Al-Najjar {21 years old} {A Paramedic}{A resident of Khuz'a town}}, injured 9 residents and left 40 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation
  • June 2nd 2018: Israeli forces opened fire towards and killed: Rami Wahid Hassan Sabarneh {36 years old} {A resident of Beit Ummar town} as he was operating a small bulldozer with a contractor to expand the street and rehabilitation of infrastructure in Jaber neighborhood in the old city of Hebron for allegedly not stopping work and attempting to run over a soldier.
  • June 3rd 2018: Mohammad Na'im Hamadah {30 years old}{A resident of Jabaliya town} died of serious injuries sustained after being wounded by the Israeli Military during clashes in east Jabaliya town on May 14th 2018.
  • June 4th 2018: Israeli forces opened fire towards 2 residents who attempted to climb the border fence into Israel from east Khan Yunis city and as a result killed Ramzi Mohammed Salim Al-Najjar {30 years old} {A resident of Khuz'a town} {then seized his corpse} while the other resident managed to flee the area.
  • June 6th 2018: Israeli forces opened fire towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Nabi Saleh village and as a result killed Iz Al-Din Abdel-Hafeeth Al-Tamimi {21 years old}.
  • June 8th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in North Beit Hanuon town in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Imad Nabil Ali Darbi {20 years old} {A resident of Beit Lahiya town}, injured 26 residents {including a journalist and Paramedic}:{of those identified are}: Mohammad Abdel-Raziq Al-Baba {A journalist} and Rami Khamis Ali {A paramedic}  and left 102 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 8th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Gaza city in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Yusef Salim Khalil Al-Fasih {29 years old}{A resident of Gaza city}, injured 31 residents and left 84 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 8th 2018: : Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuza'a town in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed Ziyad Jadallah Abdel Kader Al-Burim {28 years old}{A resident of Bani Shila town} injured 39 residents {including a paramedic} and left 139 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation
  • June 8th 2018: : Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards towards several demonstrators in east Rafah city in commemorating the 51st Anniversary of Al-Naksa {The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967} and protesting against the moving of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and as a result killed the child: Hytham Mohammad Khalil Al-Jamal {15 years old}{A resident of Rafah city} injured 9 residents and left 77 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • June 14th 2018: : Ahmad Ziyad Tawfiq {21 years old}{A resident of Khan Yunis city} died of serious head injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrator's in east Khan Yunis city on June 8th 2018.
  • June 18th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents near the border fence in east Gaza city and as a result killed Sabri Ahmad Abu Khdeir {24 years old}{A resident of Gaza city}and injured another unidentified resident.
  • June 18th 2018: : the Child :Zakariya Hussien Bashbash {13 years old}{A resident of Al-Maghazi camp} died of serious injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Al-Buriej camp on June 8th 2018.
  • June 20th 2018: Mohammad Ghassan Abu Daqa {22 years old} {a resident of Khan Yunis city} died of serious injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Khan Yunis city on June 14th 2018.
  • June 24th 2018: Osama Khalil Abu Khater {29 years old} {a resident of Khan Yunis city} died of injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Khan Yunis city on June 22nd 2018.
  • June 28th 2018: the child Abdel-Fattah Mustafa Mohammad Abu Azzam {17 years old} {a resident of Rafah city} died of injuries sustained after he was struck by a tank artillery shrapnel launched towards 2 residents in Rafah city on June 27th 2018.
  • June 29th 2018:  Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents participating in protests commemorating the Right of Return in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city and as a result killed the child Yasser Amjad Musa Abu Al-Najja {14 years old}, injured 26 residents and left 85 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

June 29th 2018: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents participating in protests commemorating the Right of Return in east Rafah city and as a result killed Mohammad Fawzi Mohammad Al-Hamayda {24 years old} {A resident of Rafah city} injured 12 residents and left 58 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Injuries

A total of 393 injuries were reported in the month of June 2018 (66 Palestinians in the West Bank and 327 in the Gaza Strip). Injuries included 7 children, 3 Journalists, 1 Women and 1 Paramedic.

Arrests

During the month of June 2018, the Israeli military arrested 419 Palestinians (408 in the West Bank and 11 in the Gaza Strip). Among those arrested by the Israeli military were: 21 children, 8 women, 5 University students, 1 Journalist and 8 Security Force Officers. The majority of Israeli military arrests were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (89); Ramallah (53); Jenin (23); Tubas (6); Tulkarem (26); Qalqiliya (17); Nablus (39); Salfit (17); Jericho (4); Bethlehem (65); Hebron (69); North Gaza (4),Gaza (4) and  Khan Yunis (3).

The Israeli Military Temporarily detained 61 residents during the month of June 2018 including 5 children, 2 Women, The Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education, 2 Journalists and 3 fishermen.

 

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of June 2018  the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 270 flying checkpoints in June 2018 (compared with 259 in May 2018 and 347 in April) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military set up 270 Flying checkpoints in the month of June 2018 and searched Palestinian civilians and vehicles in and around Palestinian residential areas in the districts of Jerusalem (11); Ramallah (51); Jenin (11);Tubas (6), Tulkarem (4); Qalqiliya (56); Nablus (32); Salfit (10); Jericho (13); Bethlehem (27) and Hebron (49).

Raids

The Israeli military carried out a total of 420 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of June 2018, including 413 in the West Bank and 7 in the Gaza Strip.

The majority of Raids took place in the districts of Jerusalem (31); Ramallah (53); Jenin (42); Tubas (19); Tulkarem (53); Qalqiliya (23); Nablus (40); Salfit (15); Jericho (10); Bethlehem (45); Hebron (82),Gaza (3) Central Gaza (1) and  Khan Yunis (3).

Attacks

A total of 256 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of June 2018 (113 in the West Bank and 143 in the Gaza Strip).

The Israeli military carried out 87 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property, 46 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 67 during raids into Civilian populated areas. In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 17 attacks on Palestinian fishermen and territory and 39 from air strikes.

  • June 1st 2018:  Palestinian gunmen opened fire towards Israeli forces near the border fence in east Gaza city.

Attacks on residential areas in West Bank districts

Home Demolition

During the month of June 2018, the Israeli military demolished 7 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • June 20th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Hussein Mohammad Khalil Wihiesh in Abu Dis town for allegedly being built without a license.
  • June 20th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Ali Hassan Imteir in Qalandiya village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • June 21st 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Ali Hassan Imteir in Qalandiya village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • June 25th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Wadi Yasoul area in Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem city forced Assad Al-Shuwiky to demolish 2 homes {under construction} for allegedly being built without a license and fined him.
  • June 25th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Sur Baher village and forced Ibrahim Amayra to demolish his home {after removing his personal belongings} for allegedly being built without a license and fined him.
  • June 26th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Hussien Izat Al-Kiswani and Mohammad Izat Al-Kiswani in Beit Hanina city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • June 26th 2018: the Israeli military dismantled a residential trailer owned by Al-Hamamda family in Khirbeit Al-Al-Mafaqra village located in south east Yatta town and confiscated it.

Attack on Public and Private property occurred as follows per District:

Jerusalem:

  • June 9th 2018: Israeli Police forces in Jerusalem prevented The Chamber of Commerce is hosting a breakfast for journalists at a hotel in Nablus Street then forcibly removed those inside the hotel and sealed off the entrances of the hotel based on an order made by the Israeli Ministry of Interior under the pretext that the Palestinian Authority was hosting of the breakfast dinner then detained 2 residents including the head of Chamber of Commerce and a board member.
  • June 17th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Jabal al-Rahma hill (east of Al-Aqsa Mosque) in Jerusalem city and uprooted Olive groves which were planted during the Month of Ramadan and also damaged stone seats and stairs in the area.
  • June 18th 2018: Israeli forces raided the Ambassador Hotel in Jerusalem city during a reception for the National Day of the Russian Federation, which was hosted by the Russian Federation Embassy and the Palestinian-Russian Friendship Association during which they temporarily detained 7 residents then released them after halting the reception.
  • June 25th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Hizma town and demolished 7 structures {4 plants shops, 2 stone cutting factories and  another structure} owned by: Ibrahim Mohammad Salem, Mohammad Fayez Al-Khatib and Affif Al-Khatib.
  • June 26th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a vehicle parking lot owned by Eyad Ramadan in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without license.
  • June 26th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a structure {made of Tin metal} owned by Amer Hadi in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without license and also up rooted several Olive trees.
  • June 27th 2018: Israeli forces closed a merchant shop owned by Ahad Hisham Abu Dheim in Jabal Al-Mukkabbir neighborhood in Jerusalem city.

Tubas:

  • June 3rd  2018: A landmine left by the Israeli occupation forces destroyed a herd of cattle as they were herding in the al-Sakout area near Bardala village in the northern Jordan Valley, killing three of the cows owned by Fayez Yousef Mohammed Abu Mutawa {A resident of Ein Al-Bayda village}.
  • June 5th  2018: the Israeli military forced 5 families out of their home in Khirbeit Humsat area located in the North Jordan valley region from 06:00 until 14:00 for alleged military training in the area {which was based on a prior military order given to local residents}.
  • June 13th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Bardala village located in the North Jordan valley region and served a military order to halt the installation of Solar Panels {Used to generate electricity for a water pump installed on Ortozi Well}.
  • June 18th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Al-Buqay'a area located in the North Jordan valley and damaged a bulldozer owned by Khalid Ibrahim Bani Oadah.
  • June 26th  2018: ,the Israeli military forced 21 families out of their home in Khirbeit Humsat area located in the North Jordan valley region from 06:00 until 20:00 for alleged military training in the area {which was based on a prior military order given to local residents}.

Qalqiliya:

  • June 4th 2018: Israeli Military forces positioned near the entrance of Azzun town prevented Abdallah Radwan from renovating his plot of land which is located in Thaher Al-Hami area near the town entrance and then threatened to confiscate the plot of land if he attempted to continue with his work.

Nablus:

  • June 23rd 2018: Israeli forces closed the entrance of a solid waste dumping site located in Rujib village with dirt mounds thus preventing Solid waste trucks from reaching the area.

Jericho:

  • June 10th 2018: Israeli forces issued a military order for the eviction and demolition of Bedouin several families from their homes which include Mahmoud Hussein Mohamed Zayed and Ali Mohamed Hussein Zayed.

Hebron:

  • June 7th  2018: Israeli forces stormed the home of Samer Zuhdat located in Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron and temporarily detained several members of the household then main door of the house was sealed with electric welding, and the family members were kept inside the house to force residents to evacuate.
  • June 8th 2018: the Israeli military forced 3 families out of their homes located on Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron owned by Samer Zahida, Musa Zahida, and Amer Zahida and sealed off the entrances of the home owned by Samer Zahida.
  • June 10th 2018: Israeli forces raided Al-Shuhada' road in the old city of Hebron and stormed the home of Samer Zuhada and sealed off the main entrances while leaving members of his house hold inside the home then removed the residents from the home the after opening an entrance then assaulted Mufeed Al-Sharabati as several residents gathered to prevent the sealing of the home and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

North Gaza:

  • June 26th 2018: Israeli Military drones destroyed a Motorcycle located in North east Beit Hanun town after launching a missile towards it.

 Gaza:

  • June 16th  2018: a vehicle was destroyed after Israeli Military drones launched a missile towards it in east Al-Shaj'ya neighborhood located in east Gaza city
  • June 26th 2018: Israeli Military drones destroyed a vehicle after launching a missile towards it in east Al-Shija’iya neighborhood located in east Gaza city.

Central Gaza:

  • June 27th 2018: Israeli Military drones destroyed a vehicle after launching a missile towards it in An Nussierat camp.

Confiscation of Property:

Jerusalem:

  • June 18th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated equipment from a vehicle rapier shop during their raid into Al-Ram town.
  • June 27th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated Jabal Al-Mukkabbir neighborhood and confiscated 43000 NIS and a Gold Bar from the family home of Alaa Abu Dhaim after storming and searching it.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • June 20th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated approximately 1000 bullets from the home of Salem Barbara during their raid into Bir Ziet town.

Jenin:

  • June 2nd 2018: Israeli forces positioned in Imrayih village confiscated construction equipment and material owned by the local village school and served a military order to halt construction for allegedly being built without a license.

Tulkarem:

  • June 19th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated 3500 NIS and 150 JD from the home of Rami Al-Tiyah during their raid intro Tulkarem city.
  • June 25th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated several computers and cellular telephones from a cellphone and computer shop owned by Jihad Adnan Mustafa Idhayla during their raid into Shwikiya neighborhood in Tulkarem city.

Nablus:

  • June 16th 2018: Israeli forces positioned at Huwara military checkpoint confiscated a vehicle owned by Anas Ahmad Mohammad Salah {A resident of Kafr Dan village in Jenin district} after detaining him.

Bethlehem:

  • June 7th  2018: Israeli forces confiscated 4000 NIS from the home of Diya' Hamamra during their raid into Husan village.
  • June 20th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated construction equipment and an Excavator owned by Mohammad Al-Wah'sh as he was doing construction work on a road in Jib Al-Thib village which is located in south Bethlehem city.

Hebron:

  • June 7th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a computer, a cellular telephone and Gold Jewelry from the home of Mu'tasim Tayseer Yassin Al-Natsha and confiscated a computer owned by Omar Al-Qawasmi.
  • June 11th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a computer owned by Bilal Taweel {A journalist} after detaining him as they stormed and searched his home during their raid into Hebron city.
  • June 19th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated 2000 NIS from the home of Mohammad Jibril Makhamra during their raid into Yatta town.
  • June 26th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated residential trailer owned by Al-Hamamda family in Khirbeit Al-Al-Mafaqra village located in south east Yatta town after dismantling it.
  • June 27th  2018: Israeli forces confiscated 25000 NIS from the homes of Ismail Al-Shalhamoun and his sons Suhyib and Hamza during their raid into Hebron city

 Settlement Activity:

  • June 2nd 2018: Israeli forces began to expand the settlement of "Negohot" located residential owned land in Faqiqis located west of Dura town, after it decided about 3 months ago to confiscate about 210 dunums near the settlement and put two houses on it.
  • June 10th 2018: Israeli forces positioned in Thaghrat Hamad area located in Al-Kahder town installed a steel gate at the entrance of a plot of land owned by Ghnayim family and also installed 10 storage containers on a plot of land owned by Dabash family.
  • June 19th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Khilat Makhoul area located near "Hemdat" settlement in the North Jordan valley and leveled approximately 40 dunums of privately owned land.

Settler Violence

  1. incidents of Settler violence occurred during the month of June 2018 including:

Jerusalem:

  • June 14th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers attempted to storm Al-Aqsa mosque compound by breaking through the gates of Hatta and King Faisal (from the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the Old City of Jerusalem during which residents and security guards prevented them from breaking into the mosque. A group of extremist settlers estimated about 30 settlers stormed the Bab al-Asbat area in the Old City of Jerusalem, and then performed dances and Talmudic rituals.
  • June 21st 2018: a group of Israeli settlers in Jerusalem city assaulted Samer Al-Salayma and as a result left him injured with contusions.

Ramallah &Al-Bireh:

  • June 10th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Thahrat area located in Turmus'aya town and chopped down approximately 300 Olive trees.
  • June 11th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Bet El" settlement stoned several residents near UNRWA school in Al-Jalazoun camp.
  • June 12th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Bet El" settlement stoned homes near UNRWA schools in Al-Jalazoun camp.
  • June 27th  2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Deir Ijrier village and set fire to wheat crops owned by Hussien Ka'abna and 40 Olive tree owned by Mohammad Khamis Abu Thra' during which civil defense forces were able to put out the fire.
  • June 28th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers set fire to agricultural land in Safa village located behind the wall and as a result destroyed 60 dunums land planted with Olive trees.

Nablus:

  • June 2nd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed the east area of Orif village, attacked several residents and as a result injured 3 residents: Salim Jameel Shehadeh {73 years old}, Obada Mohammed Shehadeh, and Raed Mahmoud Sabah during which Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack and as a result injured 3 residents {including a child}.
  • June 5th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers leveled a plot of agricultural land in Jabal Sbieh area located in south Beita town.
  • June 8th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Beit Furiq town and set fire to several Olive trees.
  • June 8th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Burin village and set fire to 55 stacks of hay used as livestock feed owned by Taysir Jibril Qaddus.
  • June 11th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitzhar" settlement stormed agricultural near the outskirts of Burin village and stoned several home and vehicles during which Israeli military forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack and as a result injured 2 residents.
  • June 12th 2018: a group of Israeli settler gathered along the main road near Deir Sharaf village junction {located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem districts}, stoned residents and vehicles then withdrew at 22:15.
  • June 20th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Huwara Military checkpoint stoned vehicles passing through the checkpoint.
  • June 21st 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land near the entrance of Burqa village and set fire to approximately 30 Olive trees then stoned several vehicles travelling near the village entrance and as a result injured Darrin Mustafa Abu Al-Hieja {A resident of Jenin city} and as a result left her hospitalized with contusions after being struck in the face.
  • June 22nd 2018: Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement located in south Burin village set fire to several plots of agricultural land planted with Olive trees located in Burin village.
  • June 24th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Givat Gilad" settlement outpost located in land in Tel village launched an Incendiary balloon near agricultural land planted with Olive trees near Tel village and as a result set fire to approximately 300 Olive trees owned by Fathi Al-Hassan, Musa Al-Shartuq and a unidentified resident from Far'ata village in Qalqiliya district.
  • June 27th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers set fire to several Olive trees located in the north area of Azzmout village.
  • June 28th 2018: Israeli settlers from "Yitzhar" settlement stormed Orif village and slashed the tires of 2 vehicles owned by Ghalib Radwan Ammar and his son Mohammad and spray painted death threats, racist and anti-Arab graffiti on the walls of a Den owned by another resident.
  • June 29th 2018: : a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Shararbah area located in Beit Furiq town and set fire to several Olive trees during which Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack then Palestinian civil defense forces were able to put out the fire.

Qalqiliya:

  • June 7th  2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned along the main road near "Immanuel" settlement stoned a bus and as a result damaged it.
  • June 19th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed the outskirts of Kafr Laqif village and entered a home {which is under construction} owned by Ameen Awad Jabr and raised Israeli flags on the rooftop.
  • June 28th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Kedumim" settlement stoned civilian vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Nablus and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Sameh Al-Sarafandi.

Salfit:

  • June 6th 2018: 3 Israeli settler driving a vehicle stormed Kafil Harris town then withdrew at a later time.
  • June 20th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers blocked the road leading to Iskaka village and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Bethlehem:

  • June 4th 2018: a group of armed Israeli settlers positioned at bypass road (5) located near Al-Tahadi school in Jib Al-Dib village and opened fire towards several construction workers as they were constructing a road {which will allow school children to travel to the school}.
  • June 14th 2018:  Israeli settler stormed agricultural land in Khirbeit Beit Iskariya village located near "Kafr Itsiyoun" settlement located in south Bethlehem city then up rooted 200 Olive trees owned by Jamil Khalil Sa'ed and Amer Hussien Odah.

Hebron:

  • June 1st   2018: a group of Israeli settlers attacked the home of Bassam Abu Ashyat in Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron.
  • June 4th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed a house {located in the military-coated area since 2001}, near the Abu Rish checkpoint leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque and next to the Qaitoun mosque, after smashing its windows and removing gates, and raising the Israeli flag inside it in an attempt to seize it. Hebron Rehabilitation Committee removed the settlers and took down the flags from inside the home.
  • June 7th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron and assaulted the wife of Imad Abu Shamasna "Um Amjad Ramadan and attempted to storm her home.
  • June 8th  2018: group of Israeli settlers stormed 3 home near Al-Ibrahimi mosque in the old city of Hebron which are owned by the family of Hussien Al-Khatib then attacked and as a result injured Khitam Hussien Al-Khatib leaving her hospitalized.
  • June 12th 2018: a group of Israeli settler positioned near the entrance of "Kiryat Arba" settlement stoned vehicles.
  • June 19th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli military leveled a plot of land owned Abu Qbeitah and Mughnam families which is located near Migon settlement near Al Tuwani village in east Yatta town for the purpose of expanding "Migon" settlement and "Havat Migon" settlement out post.
  • June 20th  2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Hamra area located in Bani Na'im town which is near "Pnei Hever" settlement and installed a tent, a mobile home {Caravan} and a livestock den on a plot of land owned by Id'ies family for the purpose of establishing a new settlement outpost.
  • June 29th 2018: Israeli settlers assaulted Sundous Al-Izzat and Ahmad Abu Haykal in Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron and as a result left them hospitalized with contusions.
  • June 30th 2018: Israeli settlers from "Ramat Yishi" and Beit Haddasa" settlement outposts in Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood and near Al-Shuhada' road in the old city of Hebron and assaulted several residents including Rida Abu Aysha {75 years old}, Mohammad Abu Hayka {60 years old}, Shahr Abu Aysha {58 years old} and Bassam Abu Aysha {55 years old} of Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron .

Closure of Crossing Points

The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 138 occasions during the month of June 2018. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 105 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 25 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 20 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.

 

The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 33 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed on 3 occasions. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
