The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 March 2019 to March 31 2019. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

  • March 4th 2019: Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Kafr Ni'ma village opened fire towards a vehicle carrying 3 residents and as a result killed 2 residents: Ameer Mahmoud Jum'a Daraj {20 years old} {A resident of Khirbithat Al-Misbah village} and Yusef Raed Mohammad Anqouri {20 years old} {A resident of Beit Sira village} and injured another who was detained.
  • March 6th 2019: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Gaza city during the march of return and as a result killed the child: Sayef Al-Din Imad Abu Zied {15 years old}{A resident of Gaza city} and injured 5 residents.
  • March 8th 2019: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Rafah city participating in the right of return march and as a result killed Tamer Khalid Mustafa Arafat {23 years old} {A resident of Rafah city}, injured 5 residents {including a Journalist} and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 10th 2019:  Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint along road (90) near Al-Oja village opened fire towards Salamat Saleh Salamat Kaabna {21 years old} {a resident of Al-Oja village} and as a result killed him for allegedly not stopping at the checkpoint.
  • March 11th 2019:  Bassam Sami Othman Safi {22 years old}{a resident of Khan Yunis camp} died of serious injuries sustained during clashes in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city during the right of return march on February 22nd 2019.
  • March 11th 2019:   Musa Mohammad Musa {23 years old} {a resident of Deir Al-Balah city} died of serious injuries sustained during clashes in Central Gaza district on March 1st 2019.
  • March 12th 2019: Israeli forces raided Salfit city, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and merchant shops and as a result killed Mohammad Abdel-Fattah Shaheen {23 years old}, injured another and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 12th 2019: Israeli forces killed Yasser Fawzi Mohammad Shwiki {36 years old} an employee in the Hebron Judicial court} after opening fire towards him for allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier in the old city of Hebron.
  • March 19th 2019: Israeli forces raided Eibwein town, opened fire and launched "Energa"- anti-tank rifle grenades as they surrounded a home and as a result killed Omar Amin Yusef Abu Liela {19 years old}{A resident of Al-Zawiya town in Salfit district} {whom Israeli forces suspect opened fire towards "Arail" settlement junction which killed 2 Israeli soldiers and seriously injured 3 Israeli settlers} during which they clashed with several residents and they stormed and searched several homes which injured 3 residents, detained 5 others then withdrew at a later time.
  • March 19th 2019: Israeli forces raided Nablus city as they escorted Israeli settlers who stormed Joseph's Tomb during which they clashed with several residents and as a result injured 13 residents and left 15 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation during which they opened fire towards a vehicle near the Tomb area and as a result killed 2 residents: Raed Hisham Mohammad Hamdan {21 years old} and Imad Mohammad Nuri {29 years old}{Both are residents of Nablus city} 
  • March 20th 2019: Israeli forces killed Ahmad Jamal Mahmoud Manasra {26 years old}{A resident of Wadi Fukin village} after opening fire towards him after he exited his vehicle and attempted to attend to an injured resident near a Military observance tower located at Al-Nashash area junction {located at the south entrance of Bethlehem city}.
  • March 22nd 2019: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Gaza city during the march of return and as a result killed Jihad Muneer Khalid Harara {23 years old} {A resident of Gaza city}, injured 30 residents and left 44 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 22nd 2019: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators near east Al- Buriej camp during the march of return and as a result killed Nidal Abdel-Karim Ahmad Shatat {29 years old} {A resident of Al-Magharqa area}, injured 14 residents and left 51 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 23rd 2019: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Beit Hanun town during the march of return and as a result killed Habib Hamza Al-Masri {22 years old}{A resident of Beit Hanun town}.
  • March 27th 2019: Israeli forces fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Al-Duhishat camp in Bethlehem city and as a result killed Sajed Abdel-Hakim Hilmi Mizhir {17 years old}{a paramedic} and injured 3 others.
  • March 29th 2019:  Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Gaza city during the march of return and as a result killed Mohammad Jihad Jawdat Sa'ed {20 years old} {a resident of Al-Shija’iya neighbourhood in east Gaza city} and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 30th 2019:  Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Gaza city during the march of return and as a result killed the child:  Adham Nidal Amarat {17 years old} {a resident of Al-Nassr neighbourhood in Gaza city}, injured 17 residents and left 91 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 30th 2019:  Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city participating in the right of return march and as a result killed 2 children: Billal Mahmoud Al-Najjar {17 years old}{A resident of Bani Suhila town} and Tamer Hisham Abu Al-Khier {17 years old}{a resident of Khan Yunis city} , injured 23 residents and left 18 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

  • March 29th 2019:  Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued orders banning Alaa Hadad from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem for a period of 1 week as a condition for his after being detained at an earlier time.
  • March 29th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued orders banning Majed Al-Ju'ba from entering the city of Jerusalem for a period of 6 months.

  • March 31st 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Jihad Nasser Qus from entering Al-Aqsa mosque for a period of 6 months.
  • March 31st 2019: Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city issued an order banning Wissam Al-Hasheem {A Security Guard at Al-Aqsa mosque compound} from entering Al-Aqsa mosque for a period of 15 days as a condition for his release after he was temporarily detained for opening Bab Al-Rahma prayers area in Al-Aqsa mosque that same morning.

  • March 13th 2019: Israeli forces raided Hebron city and stormed the secondary school in the old city of Hebron then fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several school children and as a result left Hani Hadoush {A teacher} and several school children suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 20th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Zied Jaber secondary school located in the old city of Hebron and temporarily detained a child inside his classroom then released him after the vice principle.
  • March 24th 2019: Israeli forces positioned near Al-Nahda boys school in Hebron city fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several school children and teachers and as a result left several school children and teachers suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • March 26th 2019: Israeli forces raided Bir Ziet University campus and stormed the student dormitories then detained 3 University students.

During the month of March  2019, the Israeli military demolished 16 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • March 2nd 2019: Israeli authorities forced Husam Mohammad Al-Abbassi to demolish his home {65 square meters} in Ras Al-Ammoud neighborhood in Jerusalem city and threatened to fine him if Israeli forces demolish the home for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 7th 2019: Israeli forces demolished the family home of Issam Omar Al-Barghouthi during their raid into Kobar town.
  • March 7th  2019: , Israeli forces demolished a home {consisting of 2 floors} owned by Mushier Soliman Sayef {A resident of Burqa village} located in Al-Masaudiya area of Burqa village for allegedly being built without a licence because of its location in area C which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control.
  • March 7th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 3 residential tents owned by Ismail Al-Arda, Issa Al-Na'amin and Ibrahim Awad in Khirbiet Al-Fakhit, Khirbiet Al-Majaz and Khirboet Al-Daqiqa located in south east Yatta town.
  • March 8th 2019: Israeli authorities in Silwan neighborhood located in Jerusalem city forced Attallah Alawat to demolish his home after receiving a military order so he can avoid paying a fine in the event Israeli forces demolished the home for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 9th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jabal Al-Mukkabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city forced Al-Ja'abis family to demolish their home after receiving a military order so they can avoid paying a fine in the event Israeli forces demolished the home for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 13th  2019:   Israeli forces demolished 2 home owned by Eyad Id'is and Uday Idi'is located near Billal Bin Rabah Mosque located in south Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • March 20th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Ali Mohammad Ali Abu Arram located in Khirbeit Al-Halawa area located in south east Yatta town.
  • March 20th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Issa Ali Awad Zien in Tuba village located in south east Yatta town.
  • March 25th 2019:  Israeli airstrikes destroyed Al-Multtazem Insurance Company Building in east Gaza city.
  • March 25th 2019: Israeli airstrikes destroyed a building west Gaza city.

  • March 4th 2019: Israeli forces opened killed 2 residents: Ameer Mahmoud Jum'a Daraj {20 years old} {A resident of Khirbithat Al-Misbah village} and Yusef Raed Mohammad Anqouri {20 years old} {A resident of Beit Sira village} after opening fire towards their vehicle near the entrance of Kafr Ni'ma village.
  • March 6th 2019: Israeli forces killed the child Sayef Al-Din Imad Abu Zied {15 years old} {A resident of Gaza city} after opening fire towards demonstrators in east Gaza city.

A total of 397 injuries were reported in the month of March 2019 (90 Palestinians in the West Bank and 317 in the Gaza Strip). Injuries included 6 children, 2 Women, 3 Paramedics, 3 Journalists and a Fisherman.

Arrests

During the month of March 2019, the Israeli military arrested 503 Palestinians (470 in the West Bank and 33 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (129); Ramallah (97); Jenin (41); Tubas (5); Tulkarem (10); Qalqiliya (18); Nablus (33); Salfit (20); Jericho (17); Bethlehem (56); Hebron (44),North Gaza (13), Gaza (5),Khan Yunis (13)and Rafah (2) Among those arrested by the Israeli military were: 41 children, 6 women, 5 fishermen, and 2 Security Force Officers.

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of August  2018  the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 368 flying checkpoints in March 2019 (compared with 364 in January 2019 and  301 in February 2019) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military set up 368 Flying checkpoints in the month of March 2019 and searched Palestinian civilians and vehicles in and around Palestinian residential areas in the districts of Jerusalem (15); Ramallah (81); Jenin (11), Tubas (1),Tulkarem (2), Qalqiliya (42); Nablus (49); Salfit (54); Jericho (14); Bethlehem (44) and Hebron (55).

 

 

Raids

The Israeli military carried out a total of 481 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of March 2019, including 475 in the West Bank and 6 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (39); Ramallah (82); Jenin (52); Tubas (6); Tulkarem (39); Qalqiliya (35); Nablus (41); Salfit (52); Jericho (11); Bethlehem (51); Hebron (67), North Gaza (2), Gaza (2), Central Gaza (1) and Rafah (1).

 

 

 

 

Attacks

A total of 453 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of March 2019 (142 in the West Bank and 311 in the Gaza Strip).

The Israeli military carried out 164 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property, 84 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 58 during raids into Civilian populated areas. In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 37 attacks on Palestinian fishermen and territory and 110 from air strikes.

Home Demolition

During the month of March  2019, the Israeli military demolished 16 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • March 2nd  2019: Israeli authorities forced Husam Mohammad Al-Abbassi to demolish his home {65 square meters} in Ras Al-Ammoud neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and threatened to fine him if Israeli forces demolish the home for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • March 7th 2019: Israeli forces demolished the family home of Issam Omar Al-Barghouthi during their raid into Kobar town.
  • March 7th  2019: , Israeli forces demolished a home {consisting of 2 floors} owned by Mushier Soliman Sayef {A resident of Burqa village} located in Al-Masaudiya area of Burqa village for allegedly being built without a licence because of its location in area C which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control.
  • March 7th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 3 residential tents owned by Ismail Al-Arda, Issa Al-Na'amin and Ibrahim Awad in Khirbiet Al-Fakhit, Khirbiet Al-Majaz and Khirboet Al-Daqiqa located in south east Yatta town.
  • March 8th 2019: Israeli authorities in Silwan neighbourhood located in Jerusalem city forced Attallah Alawat to demolish his home after receiving a military order so he can avoid paying a fine in the event Israeli forces demolished the home for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 9th 2019: Israeli authorities in Jabal Al-Mukkabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem city forced Al-Ja'abis family to demolish their home after receiving a military order so they can avoid paying a fine in the event Israeli forces demolished the home for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 13th  2019:   Israeli forces demolished 2 home owned by Eyad Id'is and Uday Idi'is located near Billal Bin Rabah Mosque located in south Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 20th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Ali Mohammad Ali Abu Arram located in Khirbeit Al-Halawa area located in south east Yatta town.

  • March 3rd 2019: Israeli forces demolished a car wash in Beit Safafa village for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 19th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Qalandiya camp and served a military order to halt construction on an expansion project for Equestrian Club for allegedly being built without a license.
  • March 19th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a building {consisting of 2 floors} which is part of Al-Razi school during their raid into Shu'fat camp for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • March 29th 2019:  Israeli forces stormed Hizma town and forced Mohammad Askar {a resident of Hizma town} to demolish his livestock den for allegedly being built without a licence in the center of "Pzgat Za'iv" settlement to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the Israeli authorities.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • March 11th 2019: Israeli forces seized a water tank truck owned by Ali Filfi in Kobar town for a period of 30 days.

Tubas:

  • March 25th 2019: Israeli forces positioned in the North Jordan valley served a military order to halt construction of a storage den and water well owned by Khier Al-Din Mohammad Saleh Talib {owner of the water well} and Mo'ayad Ahmad Abdel-Rahman Subieh {owner of the storage den} for allegedly being built without licences.
  • March 27th 2019: Israeli forces damaged home furniture after a stun grenade fired towards a home exploded and caused a fire inside the home of Hamada Rayiq Abu Nassar during clashes in Tubas city.

Qalqiliya:

  • March 6th 2019:  Israeli forces damaged a vehicle owned by Majed Odat during their raid into Halbat town.

Salfit:

  • March 3rd  2019: Israeli forces demolished a car-wash,a restaurant and an underground concrete floor on half a dunum of land owned by Hassan Saleh Soliman {A resident of Harris village}located in the western area of Harris village.
  • March 18th 2019: Israeli forces used explosive detonation to stormed and searched a merchant shop owned by the family Omar Amin Yusef Abu Liela {who Israeli authorities suspect opened fire towards "Arail" settlement junction} during their raid into Bidya town.

Bethlehem:

  • March 13th 2019: Israeli forces demolished an agricultural storage den and a livestock den owned by Khalid Hisham Ahmad Himour {a resident of Beit Jalla city} in Al-Makhmour area located in Beit Jalla town.
  • March 24th 2019: Israeli forces positioned at Rahma area located in Teqou' town forced several construction workers to halt construction on a 2km agricultural road which leads to agricultural land.

Hebron:

  • March 7th 2019: Israeli forces uprooted 100 Olive trees owned by Azziz Jamil Ja'afra located in Al-Tabiba area in Tarqumiya town.
  • March 9th 2019: ,Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near Khursa village junction damaged a vehicle owned by Sanad Jum'a after firing stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents and vehicles as they were travelling through the checkpoint,
  • March 10th 2019:  Israeli forces demolished a home , a chicken coop {approximately 600 m2} and uprooted several trees owned by Khalid Mohammad Soliman in ​​Abu-Souda area near the Hebron-Jerusalem road in front of Beit El Baraka, which was seized by the settlers earlier near the Arroub refugee camp .
  • March 18th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Um Nir area located near "Sussiya" settlement located on civilian owned land in Yatta town and demolished a water well owned by Farid Ahmad Al-Jabour for allegedly being built without a licence.
  • March 20th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a livestock den owned by Salama Shihada Makhamra in Maghayer Al-Abied located in south east Yatta town

North Gaza:

  • March 18th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from the home of Murad Doud Mafarjat during their raid into Beit Liqya town.
  • March 25th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated 5000 NIS from the home of Taysir Al-Khatib during their raid into Jifna town.

Jenin:

  • March 16th 2019: Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near the bypass road in east Jenin city confiscated a vehicle after detaining 2 residents.

Tubas:

  • March 12th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated an agricultural tractor owned by Nasser Abdel-Raziq in Al-Buqaya area located in the North Jordan valley.
  • March 27th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a Water Well Drilling Rig owned by Mohammad Hussien Dar Yassin as he was working on his land located in Al-Ras Al-Ahmar area in the North Jordan valley.

Tulkarem:

  • March 21st 2019: Israeli forces confiscated 1000 NIS after storming and searching the home of Daud Abdel-Rahman Jaber during their raid into Tulkarem city.

Nablus:

  • March 5th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated 2787 NIS and 335 JD from the home of Huthayfa Al-Shuli during their raid into Nablus city.
  • March 13th 2019:  Israeli forces confiscated 2 water tank trucks owned by Husni Abu Ridat {A resident of Qusra town} in North Aqraba town.

  • March 25th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Samar land area located in Al-Shiekh Jarrah neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and slashed the tires of 28 vehicles and spray-painted anti-Arab and racist graffiti on walls of homes.

  • March 17th 2019: Israeli settlers positioned near "Bet El" settlement located in North Al-Bireh city stoned several vehicles.
  • March 18th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Bet El" settlement located in North Al-Bireh city stoned vehicles travelling along the main road near the settlement.
  • March 30th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Al-Taybeh junction {located along Al-Murajat road which connects Ramallah and Jericho districts} stoned vehicles traveling along the road.

Jenin:

  • March 10th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Homish" settlement {which was abandoned} and set fire to tires along the main road connecting Jenin and Nablus.
  • March 18th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near the entrance of "Homish" settlement stoned vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Jenin and Nablus and as a result injured 2 residents leaving them hospitalized.

Tubas:

  • March 1st 2019: An Israeli settler from Miqsout" settlement in the North Jordan valley installed a tent and herded 20 cattle on land owned by Abu Miuhbis Family.
  • March 1st 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Lahamat and Jabaris area's in the North Jordan valley.
  • March 1st 2019: a group of Israeli settlers chased several Sheppard in Ein Al-Hilwa area in the North Jordan valley.
  • March 3rd 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Suwadiyat area in the North Jordan valley and chased away several Sheppard's who were herding their sheep in the area.
  • March 5th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khilat Hamad and Al-Farisiya area's located in the North Jordan valley and herded their goats.
  • March 6th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khilat Hamad and Al-Farisiya area's located in the North Jordan Valley and chased away several shepherds who were herding livestock in the area.
  • March 8th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed Shawa'ir, Al-Farisiya and Al-Hamat area in the North Jordan valley area and chased away several Sheppard's who were herding their livestock in the area.
  • March 10th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Bayoud area located in Ein Al-Hilwa in the North Jordan valley and used attack dogs to chase several residents whom were herding live stock in the area and as a result left several goats which are owned by Fathi Aliyan Abu Muh'sin injured after the dogs attacked them.
  • March 13th 2019: An Israeli settler stormed Al-Saqut area located in the North Jordan valley and placed a steel fencing around a plot of land approximately 20 dunums and installed a mobile home in an attempt to confiscate it.
  • March 14th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khirbeit Ibziq village in the North Jordan valley and walked near Al-Tahadi school in the village then withdrew at 15:00.
  • March 14th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Suwadiyat area in the North Jordan valley and chased several Sheppard's and stormed agricultural land then withdrew at 15:15.
  • March 18th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned in Al-Swuidat and Mazhouq area's located in the North Jordan valley chased away several Sheppard's who were herding their goats in the area.
  • March 25th 2019: Israeli settlers stormed Al-Malah area in the North Jordan valley then damaged and stole a stack of hay owned by Soliman Ahmad Abu Awad.
  • March 29th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Rotim" settlement located in the North Jordan Valley planted Olive tree on land owned by local residents in an attempt to confiscate it.

Jenin:

  • March 17th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed the ruins of the former settlement of Tarsulah, located between the town of Jab'a and the village of Sanur then preformed Talmudic rituals and chanted anti arab and racist slogans.

Nablus:

  • March 5th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement stormed land in Orif village during which Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settlers near the village school and as a result injured a resident then withdrew at 13:10.
  • March 10th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed an area in Jalloud village and leveled and damaged 15 dunums of land located near "Ahiya" and Aish Kodash" settlements then proceeded to steal soil and taking them to the settlements.
  • March 10th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Shavie Shamron" settlement stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Nablus and Jenin.
  • March 11th  2019:  At 12:15, a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement stormed agricultural land in Burin village and attacked several farmers.
  • March 12th 2019: a group of Israeli settler stormed agricultural land in Burin village located near the bypass road of Yitshar settlement and chopped down 33 Olive trees owned by Riziq Yusef Qaddus and chopped of the limbs of several trees owned by Waleed Sa'eed and Akram Musbah Imran.
  • March 17th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Assira Al-Qibliya village, stoned several homes and as a result injured 2 residents and shattered the windows of Abdel-Rahma Mohammad Ahmads home.
  • March 17th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar" settlement junction located in North Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Mahrij Al-Damidi.
  • March 17th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Shavie Shamron" settlement junction assaulted 3 residents: Nash'at Dwikat, Samer Abu Al-Hayat and Raed Al-Thulth {All are employees of the Electrical Company} and as a result left them hospitalized with contusions.
  • March 18th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Yitshar settlement junction located in North Huwara town stoned several vehicles and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Ismail Yusef Misimi {A resident of Balata camp in Nablus city}.
  • March 19th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed Madma village, stoned several homes during which local residents were able to chase the settlers from the area.
  • March 19th  2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Huwara military checkpoint stoned vehicles passing through the checkpoint.
  • March 19th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Al-Libban Al-Sharqiya village stoned several vehicles.
  • March 20th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Burqa village, stone the home of Mahmoud Kamil Hajat which is located at the village entrance and damaged 2 vehicles parked in front of the house then opened fire after local residents attempted to prevent their attack.
  • March 21st 2019:  Israeli settlers from Yitshar settlement stormed agricultural land in Orif village and stoned several homes during which local residents were able to chase away the settlers from the area.
  • March 22nd 2019: a group of Israeli settlers driving a vehicle opened fire as they were travelling along the main road {connecting Nablus and Jenin} in Bazariya village.
  • March 23rd 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar" settlement junction located in North Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road then withdrew at 00:55.
  • March 29th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement stormed agricultural land in Al-Midan area located in Burin village and chopped off the limbs of several Olive trees owned by Majed Rajazin.

Qalqiliya:

  • March 1st 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in east Far'ata village, temporarily detained several residents and threatened to burn their crops during which Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle then escorted the settlers 
  • March 2nd 2019:  an Israeli settler herded his live stock on agricultural land in Far'ata village.
  • March 16th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Far'ata village opened fire towards several farmers who were farming agricultural land.
  • March 18th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Jinsafut village, stoned several homes and vehicles and an as a result shattered the windows of several homes and vehicles.

Salfit:

  • March 1st 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in the west area of Al-Zawiya town then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
  • March 18th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Kafil Harris town, stoned several homes and vehicles and as a result broke the widows of 2 homes owned by Maher Yacoub and Baher Yacoub and also shattered the windows of several vehicles.

Jericho:

  • March 10th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Al-Oja village attacked a Bedouin community located in Al-Kharabish area in Ras Al-Oja during which they withdrew under the protection of Israeli forces and detained a resident.

Bethlehem:

  • March 20th 2019:  Israeli settlers stormed Beitir village, slashed the tires of several vehicles and spray painted anti Arab and racist slogans on the walls of a mosque.
  • March 26th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers surrounded two main mixed male and female schools near the entrance to the town of Taqu'a, closing the road to traffic. The Israeli forces intervened and evacuated the settlers.

Hebron:

  • March 7th 2019: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli military stormed the home of Tawfiq Abdel-Hay Arafa located in Al-Ein Al-Jadida area of Tel Al-Rumayda neighbourhood in the old city of Hebron and installed steel doors and windows in an attempt to seize the home.
  • March 11th 2019:  An Israeli settler positioned near a military checkpoint located in the old city of Hebron harassed and provoked several school children.
  • March 12th 2019:  a Israeli settler positioned along Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Jerusalem assaulted and slandered Ahmad Hisham Al-Aza and as a result left him injured with contusions to the head.
  • March 17th  2019: a group of Israeli settlers positioned along road 6 in Al-Buq'q area near "Kiryat Arba" settlement in east Hebron city stoned residents and vehicles.
  • March 17th 2019:  a group of Israeli settlers from "Migon" settlement located in east Yatta town attacked several homes near the settlement and stoned Musa Jibril Al-Ruba'i.
  • March 21st 2019: An Israeli vehicle ran over Jum'a Qafishat {A member of the construction committee in Hebron city} and as a result left him hospitalized with a fractured arm and contusions.
  • March 23rd 2019: A group of Israeli settlers positioned in Wadi Al-Hasin area located near "Kiryat Arba" settlement in east the old city of Hebron stoned several homes and vehicles and as a result damaged several vehicles.
  • March 25th 2019: A group of Israeli settlers from "Kiryat Arba" and "Kharsana" settlements located in east Hebron city stormed agricultural land in Buwirat area and chopped off the limbs of several Olive and Almond trees owned by Khalifa Da'ana.
  • March 30th 2019:  An Israeli settler opened fire after exiting his vehicle towards several homes near the entrance of the Al-Arrub camp for alleged stoning.

Closure of Crossing Points

The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 154 occasions during the month of March 2019. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 115 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 23 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 17 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.

 

The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 39 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed on 8 occasions. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
