The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 March 2020 to March 31 2020. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

  • 03/03/2020: 03/03/2020, the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the citizens, on the pretext that they were thrown with stones, which resulted in the wounding of the child, Muhammad Awni Atiyah, 15 years old.ding of the child, Muhammad Awni Atiyah, 15 years old during the storming of Al-Isawiya village.
  • On the evening of 04. 03. 2020, during the storming of Al-Isawiya village, the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the citizens, under the pretext that they were throwing stones, which resulted in the injury of 10-year-old child Fawzi Atta Obeid.
  • On 04/03/2020, the occupation forces located in the vicinity of the "Eyal" crossing, north of Qalqilya, fired metal bullets coated with rubber and sound and tear gas canisters towards the citizens, on the pretext that they were thrown with stones, which resulted in the wounding of the child Bilal Dawoud, 13 years old.
  • On 05/03/2020, the occupation forces opened fire near the village of Deir Nizam, targeting 2 children, on the pretext of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the occupation soldiers, which resulted in the injury of one of them: Usama Muhammad Yahya Al-Tamimi, 17, and arrested them.
  • On 16/03/2020, the occupation forces, near Habla, fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the demonstrators, under the pretext that they were stoned, which resulted in the wounding of the child Omar Jawad Al-Durrah, 15.
  • On 16/03/2020, the occupation forces, south of Burin village, fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the citizens as they tried to confront a group of settlers who attacked the citizens ’homes, which resulted in the injury of 2 civilians, one of them child Jibril Bashar Jibril Qadus, 17 years old.
  • On 20/03/2020, the occupation forces located in the vicinity of the "Eyal" crossing north of the city of Qalqilya, fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the protesting citizens, on the pretext that they were throwing stones, which resulted in the injury of the child Ahmed Hassan Salami, 14 years old.
  • On 21/03/2020, the occupation forces near the eastern (closed) entrance in Kafr Qaddum village fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the protesting citizens, protesting the closure of the village entrance, on the pretext that they were throwing stones, which resulted in the wounding of the child Youssef Abdel Al-Fattah Taha, 16, and a number of citizens - suffocated due to inhaling tear gas.
  • On 22/03/2020:, the Israeli occupation forces shot at a vehicle as it passed on the main street near the entrance to the town of Naalin, killing Sufyan Nawwaf Abdel-Halim Al-Khawaja, 32, a resident of the village of Naalin, and wounding another in the back.
  • On 24/03/2020, the occupation forces, near the entrance to Deir Nizam village, fired live and metal rubber-coated bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the citizens, under the pretext that they were throwing stones, which resulted in the wounding of a 16-year-old child, Muhammad Abdel Hakim Ahmed Zahran - residents of the village of Deir Abu Mash’al.

  •     On the evening of 04.03.2010, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen: Najeh Bakirat (Deputy Director General of the Endowments of Jerusalem and President of the Al-Aqsa Academy for Science and Heritage), for a week from the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

  • On 03/03/2020, the occupation forces demolished a 200-square-meter house, owned by Citizen: Rami Subeih Al-Khatib, in the town of Hazma, on the pretext of not licensing.
  • On 04/03/2020, Israeli forces demolished the town of Bir Zeit, using the bulldozer of the family house: of Yazan Maghamis {a Palestinian detainee}.
  • On 04/03/2020, the Israeli occupation forces demolished the walls of the house of the family: Walid Hanatasha {a Palestinian detainee} by using iron hammers.
  • On 04/03/2020, the Israeli occupation forces demolished, in the Jabal Al-Mukabbar neighbourhood of Jerusalem, part of a house owned by Iyad Al-Fatafta, on the pretext of not licensing.
  • On 12/03/2020, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a 130-square-meter house, owned by Hazem Hashem Abu Muhaimid, in the village of Fureidis, on the pretext of not licensing.
  • On 13/03/2020, occupation authorities in The Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem, Tarek Mohammed Ali, were forced to demolish a residential building (consisting of four floors - two of which are under construction), after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of an operation by the occupation authorities Demolition, under the pretext of not authorizing.

  • On the morning of 26. 03. 2020, the Israeli occupation forces demolished 3 houses owned by citizens in the village of Al-Dyuk Al-Tahta, west of Jericho: Yasser Mofeed Abu Ubaid, Yasser Alayyan, and Thaer Al-Sharif, on the pretext of not being licensed and located in the classified area (C) under Israeli control.
  • On 31.03.2020, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a house (under construction) owned by Khaled Rashid Sheikh Hussein, in the village of Khirbet Jbara, on the pretext of not being licensed and because it was near the separation wall.

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of February 2020,he Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 206 flying checkpoints in March 2020 (319 in February 2020 compared with 317 in January and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

  • On 18.03.2020, Israeli occupation forces confiscated a vehicle belonging to a resident during their raid into Al-Bireh city.
  • At dawn on 31.03.2020, Israeli forces confiscated a private vehicle owned by Mahmoud Ahmed Marar during his arrest in Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities.

Tubas:

  • On 10.03.2020, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated 12,000 shekels from the house of the citizen: Abdullah Nawwaf Abu Mohsen during their raid into Tayasir village.
  • On 26.03.2020,The occupying forces in the village of Ibadiq confiscated 8 unbuilt tents, sun cells, 6 spray pumps, and brick units for construction that were intended for the mosque, the health clinic and the village council, under the pretext of building in closed military zones.

Nablus:

  • At dawn on 04.03.2010, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated, during the storming of Nablus, an amount of money from the house of the citizen: Ahmed Musleh.
  • On 25.03.2020, the occupying forces confiscated a private vehicle belonging to a resident of the family, Zidan, a few residents of the village of Kafal, after he managed to escape.

Salfit:

  •  On 04.03.2020, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated 13,000 shekels {NIS} from the house of the citizen: Ahmed Hamdan Musleh, 22,000 shekels {NIS} from the house of the citizen: Alyan Rashid Abdullah Muqadi, and 3,000 shekels {NIS} from the citizen’s house: Raafat Rashid Abdullah Muqadi.

Hebron:

  • On 09.03.2020, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated two bulldozers owned by Maher Abu Turki - residents of the city of Hebron.

 Settlement Activity:

  •     On 23.03.2020, one of the settlers, taking advantage of the lack of mobility (due to the state of emergency to reduce the spread of the Corona virus), bulldozed a plot of land between the villages of Ravat and Kalandia, tried to plant it and put a fence in its vicinity in an attempt to capture it, where the residents were able to expel the settler from the site later.
  •    On 31.03.2020, a settler near the town of Hazma opened fire at the settler, Hammam al-Helou, and his sisters, while hiking east of the town
  •    On the evening of 31. 03. 2020,2 settlers from the settlement of "Ramot" located on the land of the village of Beit Exa, located at Aqaba Zayed Road in the village of Beit Ikksa and contaminated the vehicles of citizens and street facilities by spiting on them, in an attempt to intimidate the citizens with the Corona Virus during which villagers were able to confront them and were expelled from the premises and the citizens' vehicles and the street were sterilized as a precaution for fear that they would be infected with the Corona virus.

Ramallah &Al-Bireh:

  • On 01.03.2020, a group of “Adi Aad” settlers entered the agricultural lands of Al-Mughair village, and cut about 200 olive seedlings owned by Hussein Abu Alia. They also plowed the land after uprooting the olive seedlings.
  • On 09.03.2020, a group of settlers stormed, Al-Tirah neighborhood, in Ramallah, and opened fire indiscriminately at the place. As a result, the Israeli forces intervened and fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the citizens as they tried to confront the settlers.
  • On 10.03.2020, a number of settlers from " Shelo settlement infiltrated the village of Turmus'ya, and attacked the memorial of the martyr Ziad Abu Ain, then fled the scene.
