MONTHLY SUMMARY OF ISRAELI VIOLATIONS

The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 November 2021 to 30 November 2021. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of  November  2021

11/03/2021: The Israeli occupation forces, present in the vicinity of the settlement of Tekoa, fired stun and tear gas canisters towards farmers, accompanied by the South African ambassador, “Liseba Matchapa” to the State of Palestine, while they were harvesting olives from their land belonging to the town of Tekoa, which is located near the colony. and forced them to leave the area. 11/05/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned near the village of Deir al-Hatab fired live ammunition and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning which led to the death of a child: Amjad Salem Da'dis, 15 years old (a tenth grade school student) - a resident of Askar refugee camp in Nablus. 11/05/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, injuring 5 civilians: Fayez Hamid Hamayel (he was hit in the eye with rubber-coated metal bullets), and 55 civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation. 11/05/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched a number of houses during their raid into the city of Al-Bireh and as a result injured two children. 11/11/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned near the northern entrance to the city of Al-Bireh fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards protesting citizens and as a result injured 14 civilians, and left 26 citizens - suffocated due to tear gas inhalation, then detained 2 civilians (including an injured civilian). 11/12/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning during their raid into the town of Bedo and as a result injured a child. 11/16/2021: the occupation forces fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets, stun , and tear gas canisters towards citizens, for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched a number of houses during their raid into the city of Tubas and as a result killed a citizen: Saddam Hussein Abdel-Wali Bani Odeh, 26 years old - a resident of the town of Tamoun  11/17/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Old City of Jerusalem shot and killed a child: Omar Ibrahim Abu Asab, 16 years old - a resident of Al-Isawiya village, under the pretext that he had stabbed two Israeli policemen. 11/17/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several citizens for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched a number of houses during the storming of the city of Al-Bireh and as a result injured 2 children. 11/18/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens while they were on patrol, in the village of Al-Isawiya for alleged stoning and as a result injured 17 citizens, and left 95 citizens suffocated due to gas inhalation. 11/18/2021: The prisoner: Sami Abed Al-Amour, 39 years old - a resident of Deir Al-Balah died inside Israeli occupation prisons while serving 19 years in prison since 2008, after his health deteriorated and he was subsequently transferred to Soroka Hospital, as a result of Medical negligence. 11/21/2021: the Israeli occupation forces positioned near Bab al-Silsila (one of the doors leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the Old City of Jerusalem, fired towards and killed a civilian:  Fadi Muhammad Abu Shkhaydam, 42 years old (works as a teacher at Rashidiya School in Jerusalem) - resident of Shuafat camp, after he had allegedly opened fire at a Israeli settler and Israeli occupation soldiers, which resulted in the killing of a settler and wounding 3 Israeli occupation soldiers -including one seriously injured. 11/26/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of Jabal Sobeih area in Beita town fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, and as a result injured 17 civilians (including two journalists) and left a number of citizens suffocated as a result of inhaling tear gas. 11/29/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning as they were filling a well to collect water for agricultural purposes during their raid into Ni’lin town and as a result injured 6 civilians.

Attacks	149	63	212	A total of 212 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of November 2021 (149 in the West Bank and 63 in the Gaza Strip) which included 34 from raids into Palestinian towns, villages and camps,115 from positions at Military checkpoints,30 from positions at Military posts and 33 from Naval vessels.

Temporary Detention	23	3	26	On 11/02/2021, the Israeli occupation forces prevented a foreign diplomatic delegation comprising about 30 international figures that included ambassadors, consuls and representatives of diplomatic missions in Palestine from entering Al-Shuhada Street in the old city of Hebron, while they were on their way to tour and review settlement plans targeting the old city of Hebron. On the evening of 11/11/2021, the Israeli occupation forces detained the citizen: Muawiya Abu Haikal in the old city of Hebron, and released him after they took him to the Israeli police station in the old city. On 11/13/2021, the Israeli occupation forces detained Iyad Kamal Al-Masari -a resident of the Shallal area of ​​Al-Auja village, and released him later. On the evening of 11/17/2021,the Israeli occupation forces temporarily detained the father and brother of the martyr: Omar Ibrahim Abu Asab (who was killed in the Old City of Jerusalem, for allegedly stabbing two Israeli occupation police officer) in the village of Al-Isawiya, and released them at a later time. On 11/21/2021, the Israeli occupation forces detained 3 citizens of the relatives of the martyr: Fadi Abu Shkhaydam (who was martyred near Bab al-Silsilah in the Old City of Jerusalem),his daughter Aya, his brother Shadi, and his nephew Ahmed and released them after taking them for interrogation at the Israeli occupation police station in Jerusalem and handed his brother Wissam a notification for review by the Israeli intelligence. On 11/22/2021, the Israeli occupation forces temporarily detained the citizen: Hamza Nidal Ghaith {Palestinian Governor of Jerusalem district} as they stormed the Jerusalem Governors house, and released him after they took him to interrogation in the “Al-Maskobiya” detention and investigation center. On 11/22/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to imprison the citizen: Rasha Tariq Ahmed Al-Issawi - residents of Al-Isawiya village, for a period of 3 days, in addition to a fine of 5000 shekels, as a condition for his release after she had been arrested earlier. On 11/26/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision imposing house arrest on 5 citizens - residents of the village of Al-Isawiya, for a period of 5 days, as a condition for their release after they arrested them earlier: Mansour Mahmoud and his two brothers, Ahmed, Loay, Muhammad Al-Masry, and Muhammad Mustafa. On 11/26/2021, The 3 fishermen who were temporarily detained by the gunboats at sea off the shore of the city of Rafah, and released at a later time, are: Jamal Jihad Al-Hassi, Muhammad Rashad Al-Hassi, and Nour Rajab Al-Hassi. On 11/28/2021, the Israeli occupation forces in the Umm al-Abar area in the northern Jordan Valley detained 5 citizens: Kamal Adel Daraghmeh, his two brothers Muhammad, Hilal, Louay Qadri Daraghmeh, and his brother Muhammad shepherds after being pursued by settlers, and later released them.

Land Confiscation	5		5	On 11/01/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated an area of ​​10 dunums of citizens’ lands belonging to the town of Beit Furik and the village of Beit Dajan, which are located next to an old (abandoned) camp of the Israeli occupation forces, east of Beit Furik town and Beit Dajan village, under the pretext of establishing a security point to secure a road for settlers in Their movement between the outposts established on the lands of the towns of Beit Furik and Aqraba and the village of Beit Dajan. On 11/30/2021, the Israeli occupation forces issued a military order to confiscate areas of agricultural lands belonging to the citizens of the villages of Qaryut and Al-Sawiya, and convert them from agricultural lands to settlement residential areas, public facilities and roads for the “Eli” settlement, which is built on the lands of the villages of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, Al-Sawiya, Qaryut and Talfit. On 11/30/ 2021, the occupation forces issued a military order to confiscate a 2.5-dunum plot of land near the western entrance to the city of Beit Jala, in favor of settlement projects to expand the bypass road leading to the tunnels road and the “Harjelo” settlement built on the lands of the city of Beit Jala and the village of Al Walaja.

Settlement Activity	4		4	11/08/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces erected an Israeli communication tower on the ruins of the (Ush Ghorab) camp, east of the city of Beit Sahour. 11/12/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces carried out engineering surveying works in the agricultural lands of citizens in the areas of Aqabat Jarda and Al Mugheba, located west of Deir Istiya town, with the aim of extending a sewage line to the settlements. 11/24/ 2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem approved a plan to build a huge new settlement neighbourhood (which includes about 11 thousand settlement units, hotels, facilities, public parks, commercial, tourist and industrial areas) to be built on 1,243 dunums of the land of Jerusalem International Airport (Qalandia) north of the city. Jerusalem, within the territories occupied in 1967. 11/25/ 2021: the Israeli occupation authorities approved a plan to build 372 new settlement housing units in the “Kiryat Arba” settlement, located east of Hebron, within the occupied territories in 1967.

Arrests

During the month of November 2021, the Israeli military arrested 407 Palestinians {397 in the West Bank and 10 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of  98 Jerusalem, 64 Ramallah, 34 Jenin, 3 Tubas,  28 Tulkarm,25 Qalqilya, 36  Nablus, 7 Salfit, 11 Jericho, 38 Bethlehem, 53 Hebron. 4 North Gaza, 1 Gaza, 2 Khan Younis and 3 Rafah,

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of November 2021 ,the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 276  flying checkpoints in November 2021 ( compared 261flying checkpoints in October 2021 and compared 312 flying checkpoints in September  2021 and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military set up 276 Flying checkpoints in the month of November 2021 and searched Palestinian civilians and vehicles in and around Palestinian residential areas in the districts of Jerusalem (2); Ramallah (34); Tubas (2); Jenin (6) Qalqiliya (52); Nablus (12); Salfit (45); Jericho (47); Bethlehem (52); Hebron (24).

The Israeli military carried out a total of 410  raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of  November 2021, including 403 in the West Bank and 7 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (34); Ramallah (73); Jenin (55); Tubas (9)Tulkarem (37); Qalqiliya (27); Nablus (39); Salfit (6); Jericho (16); Bethlehem (63); Hebron (44), North Gaza (3),Gaza (1) and  Khan Yunis (3).

 

 

A total of 212 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of November 2021 (149 in the West Bank and 63 in the Gaza Strip) which included 34 from raids into Palestinian towns, villages and camps,115 from positions at Military checkpoints,30 from positions at Military posts and 33 from Naval vessels.

During the month of November  2021, the Israeli military demolished 22 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

• 11/01/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished 3 tents used for housing, in addition to demolishing 3 sheep sheds and a tent used to store fodder, and destroyed 3 water tanks and a solar cell system to generate electric power in the area of ​​Khirbet al-Mitah in the northern Jordan Valley.
• 11/03/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished a 150-square-meter house in al-Jawaya community of al-Carmel town, east of Yatta, owned by: Ismael Hussein al-Nawaja, under the pretext of not having a license.
• 11/03/ 2021:  The Israeli occupation forces demolished a house (consisting of one floor and two residential apartments) in the Jabal Al-Mukabber neighborhood in Jerusalem, owned by the citizen: Muhammad Al-Hroub, under the pretext of not having a license.
• 11/07/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished 4 tents used for housing, in addition to two tents and a sheep pen owned by the citizen: Muhammad Alyan Awadin the Umm al-Jamal area in the northern Jordan Valley.
• 11/09/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished 3 houses in the village of Al Walaja owned by the citizens: Muhammad Hussein Nasr Abu al-Teen, Tariq Nasr Abu al-Teen, and his brother Ahmed under the pretext of not having a permit.
• 11/09/ 2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the town of Beit Hanina forced the family of the citizen: Maya Al-Nashashibi, to demolish her two-floor house herself, after notifying her earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities on the pretext of not having a permit.
• 11/09/ 2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Aziz Owaisat to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event the occupation authorities carry out the demolition process, on the pretext of not having a permit.
• 11/10/ 2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood in Jerusalem demolished a house (partially - some of its internal facade) before a bulldozer was intercepted and prevented from entering the yard of the house, owned by the captive: Mahmoud Jawad Jaber, and his family was given a notice to continue Demolition and a fine of 100,000 NIS if the external walls are not self-demolished until 11/17/ 2021, under the pretext of not having a permit.

• 11/02/ 2021:  a Israeli settler ran over while he was driving his vehicle, the citizen: Hamza Issa Mahasneh - a resident of the town of Ithna, which led to him being bruised, and he was admitted to the government hospital in Hebron for treatment.
• 11/03/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers on Al-Shuhada Street in the Old City of Jerusalem chased the child: Abdul Majeed Hamouda Jaber, 12 years old, resulting in him being injured and bruised as a result of hitting a wall as a result of his pursuit, and he was subsequently transferred to the hospital for treatment.
• 11/04/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers, east of Al-Dhahirah town, closed the road to a number of Palestinian farmers, preventing them from reaching their lands.
• 11/05/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers entered the agricultural lands of the citizens of the town of Surif, and attacked a number of citizens from the family: Agnimat, while they were harvesting olives from their land.

(Caravan) owned by the citizen: Khalil Abu Ayhour, as the residents were able to confront the settlers and drive them away from the place.
• 11/06/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers near the village of Susiya, east of Yatta, attacked a children’s park in the Nawaja family gathering, which was set up by Action Against Hunger for the children of the community, and tried to sabotage the games in it, as the citizens managed to confront the settlers and force them to leave the area .
• 11/07/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers in the Tha’ala Gathering area, east of Yatta, assaulted a number of citizens with batons, as a result injured 3 citizens (including two female citizens) Youssef Hammad Makhamra, Naima Naim Makhamra, and Suad Muhammad Awad leaving them hospitalized with contusions.
• 11/10/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers in the Khallet al-Dabaa area, east of Yatta town, set up a residential tent on the citizens' lands, in preparation for their seizure.
• 11/10/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers attacked the houses of citizens in the Khallet al-Dabaa area, east of Yatta town, and opened fire at the civilians, as a result of which 2 civilians (one of them a child) were injured as a result of the severe beating.
• 11/15/ 2021:  a group of Israeli settlers in the Al-Masara area of ​​the town of Al-Shuyoukh entered the citizens’ agricultural lands, which led to the burning of 50 fruitful olive trees owned by the citizen: Muhammad Badawi, and his two brothers Naim and Nasser, and two mobile homes (caravans) were set up in the area.
• 11/17/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers from the “Asfar” settlement, which is built east of the town of Al-Shuyoukh, attacked the team of engineers of the land settlement project in the Sarara area of ​​Al-Shuyoukh town, with stones and sticks, as a result of which one of them was injured - in the head.
• 11/20/ 2021:  a group of Israeli settlers in the Taybeh area of ​​Tarqumiya town razed agricultural lands for citizens, and built a settlement road linking the settlements of “Telem” and “Adora”.
• 11/21/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers near the "Kiryat Arba" settlement, east of Hebron, threw stones at Palestinian vehicles passing by bypass road 60.
• 11/29/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers from the settlement of “Bani Hefer” stormed the archaeological tomb of “Yaqin” south of the town of Bani Naim, and destroyed and took off iron corners erected by the municipality of Bani Naim to protect it.

 

 

Border crossings with Israel: were closed 102 times (Beit Hanoun - Erez crossing was open 26 times  , with the exception of humanitarian cases, the Shejaiya crossing - Nahal Oz was completely and unilaterally closed by the Israeli side on 01/04/2010, as well as the Muntar-Karni crossing was closed unilaterally from Before the Israeli side, on 02/03/2011, the Kerem Shalom-Kerem Shalom crossing opened for 22 days for the entry of food, humanitarian aid, fodder and a quantity of cooking gas, cement and iron for the benefit of UNRWA projects and internationally funded projects, while the Sufa crossing was closed throughout the month.
