MONTHLY SUMMARY OF ISRAELI VIOLATIONS

The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 October 2017 to October 31 2017. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

 

 

 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of October  2017

  • 3 October: Israeli forces fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Shu'fat camp in Jerusalem city and as a result injured 3 residents including a child.
  • 5 October: Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Al-Jalmah Military checkpoint located in east Jenin city opened fire towards and injured the child Adham Mustafa Ibrahim Abu Kharouj {17 years old} {A resident of Jenin camp}.
  • 5 October: Israeli settlers positioned near "Kiryat Arba'" settlement located in east side of the old city of Hebron stoned residents and vehicles and as a result injured Yafa Nimr Fihmi Jaber {7 years old}leaving him hospitalized.
  • 6 October: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire and launched tear gas grenades towards several demonstrators in east Al-Buriej camp and as a result injured a child.
  • 10 October: Israeli forces positioned in Al-Thaher area located in Beit Ummar town and near "Karmi Tsur" settlement fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured a child {with a leg injury} and several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • 12 October: Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Ma'moun Mahmoud Al-Ramahi {17 years old}.
  • 15 October: Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Rujaib village and as a result injured Bara Ayman Sabri Dwikat {12 years old}.
  • 16 October: Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Eisawiya village and as a result injured the child Majd Nayef Shhadeh {16 years old}.
  • 18 October: Israeli forces positioned near "Kafr Itsiyon" settlement junction opened fire towards a child: Ahmad Nafaz Al-Masri {14 years old} {A resident of Hebron city} {for allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli Soldier} and as a result left him hospitalized.
  • 20 October: Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, and stun and tear gas canisters towards residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Hebron city and as a result injured the child: Uday Ibrahim Abu Aysheh {15 years old}.
  • 30 October: Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Qalandiya camp and as a result injured 3 residents: Mohammad Khalid Hussien [17 years old}, Kamal Yunis Abu Usba' and Osama Mahmoud Hamad.

  • October 5th 2017: Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint at Sarah village junction {located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqilya} temporarily seized a Palestinian Police vehicle then released it at a later time.
  • October 10th 2017: Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards Palestinian Police Force vehicles in Deir Nathim town and as a result damaged the vehicle.
  • October 11th 2017: Israeli forces summoned 2 residents {including a National Security forces officer} Mohammad Awadallah Kawazba {a National Security forces officer} and Mahmoud Awadallah Kawazba to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning during their raid into Sa'ir town.
  • October 25th 2017: Israeli forces positioned near a checkpoint set up by Palestinian National Security forces in North Jericho city for the alleged shooting incident during which Palestinian forces retreated as Israeli forces searched the area.

* October 23 2017: Israeli forces issued a military order confiscating 4.7 dunums of agricultural land in Deir Nizam village (a strip of width 4 meters long and extending between the settlement of Halamish and the village of Deir Nizam) to erect a fence along the settlement of Halamish, In addition, a 9-dunum area of ​​agricultural land planted with olive trees was erected along with a gate at the entrance to the settlement, owned by Ahmed Faraj Al-Tamimi.

  • October 15th 2017: Israeli authorities announced the implementation for the construction of 2600 settlement units in "Givat Hamatos" settlement located in south Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.
  • October 25th 2017: Israeli authorities issued permits for the construction of 176 settlement units in "Nov Itsiyon" settlement located in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.

Bethlehem:

  • October 24th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Al-Walja village and installed a 10 meter long steel fence along the wall gate near the north entrance of the village near Al-Carmisan area.

Hebron:

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of January the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 397 flying checkpoints in October 2017 (compared with 356 in September 2017 and 405 in August 2017) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military carried out a total of 557 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of October 2017, including 550 in the West Bank and 7 in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military carried out 10 attacks during confrontations between the Israeli military and Palestinians, 16 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property, 64 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 62 during raids into Civilian populated areas. On October 11th 2017, Palestinian gunmen positioned near the border fence in east Al-Buriej camp opened fire towards an Israeli Military Jeep.

On October 8th 2017, Palestinian gunmen launched projectiles towards the Green Line {which landed inside the Gaza strip}.

Home Demolition

During the month of October 2017, the Israeli military demolished 12 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

Jerusalem:

  • October 25th 2017: Israeli forces prevented a special seminar on "the Jordanian guardianship of Islamic and Christian endowments in Jerusalem" from being held at Saint George Hotel in Jerusalem city and summoned 4 residents hosting the seminar: Mazen Al-Ja'bari, Maher Suhliyat, Khalil Al-Tafkaji and Abdel-Qadder Al-Husini to Israeli police for questioning.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • October 22nd 2017: Israeli forces damaged the windshield of a vehicle owned by Hytham Mohammad Hussien Wahdan during their raid into Rantis village.

Jenin:

  • October 16th 2017: Israeli forces prevented Raghib Mahmoud Al-Hamed's family {residents of Rumana village} from collecting Olive harvest on their agricultural land which is located near Salem military base.
  • October 28th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated 4 cellular telephones after storming the family home of Mohammad Abu Al-Rub during their raid into Qabatiya town.

Tulkarem:

  • October 20th 2017: Israeli forces prevented several residents from reaching their agricultural land to collect Olive harvest in Kafr Sur village after they closed wall gate {#839} leading to the village.

Qalqiliya:

  • October 1st 2017: Israeli forces removed several farmers and residents of Azzun town from their agricultural land near "Malee Shamron" and prevented them from collecting Olive harvest during this period for alleged Jewish Holidays.
  • October 13th 2017: Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate located in Al-Razazat area in Qalqilya city kicked out several workers in the area.

Nablus:

  • October 13th 2017: Israeli forces prevented several residents from collecting Olive harvest on agricultural land located in Salem village near "Alon Muriya" settlement.
  • October 13th 2017: Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Qaryout village located near "Shilo" settlement with dirt mounds in order to prevent residents from reaching their agricultural land to collect Olive harvests during which several residents reopened the entrance at a later time.

Bethlehem:

  • October 10th 2017: Israeli forces detonated a room inside the home of Hamza Suliman Nuwarat {A Palestinian Detainee} during their raid into Bethlehem city.
  • October 30th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated 2 bulldozers owned by Nidal Shweiky in Teqou' town.

Hebron:

  • October 11th 2017: Israeli forces prevented residents from collecting Olive harvest in B'ir Salem area located near Tarqumiya town and forcibly removed them from the area.
  • October 19th 2017: Israeli forces demolished a storage den owned by Saber Zamal Abu Mariya in Za'ta area located along road 60 in east Beit Ummar town and confiscated his equipment.
  • October 19th 2017: Israeli forces demolished a storage den owned by Mohammad Issa Tayim located in Al-Tuwani village in east Yatta town.
  • October 23rd 2017: Israeli forces positioned in Ein Al-Far'a area located in Dura town near "Adora" settlement levelled a plot of land owned by Hajja family.

Confiscation of Property:

Jerusalem:

  • October 13th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Daoud Khalid Muhsin during their raid into Abu Dis town.

Ramallah & Al-Bireh:

  • October 18th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated media equipment after closing down several Media office including: Pal Media, the Al-Aqsa and Palestine Alyoum channels during their raid into Ramallah city.
  • October 19th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated 70000 NIS after storming and searching the homes of Mohammad Al-Dibsi and Hani Al-Dibsi during their raid into Jifna village
  • October 22nd 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a laptop computer owned by Hytham Mohammad Hussien Wahdan during their raid into Rantis village.

Jenin:

  • October 18th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a cement truck owned by Al-Joulany Cement factory during their raid into Jenin city.
  • October 19th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated money from the home of Khalil Abdallah Khalil Abu Al-Rub during their raid into Qabatiya town.

Tubas:

  • October 3rd 2017: Israeli forces confiscated construction equipment owned by Yusef Basharat in Khilat Al-Makhoul area located in the North Jordan valley.
  • October 6th 2017: Israeli forces positioned in Al-Ras Al-Ahmar area located in the North Jordan Valley confiscated a tractor owned by Ahmad Thiyab Abu Khizran.
  • October 14th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated 2 bulldozers owned by Lafi Mufdi Sawafta and Yasser Fareeh Mohammad Khamam as they were paving a road in Khirbeit Al-Deir area located in east Ein Al-Bayda village in the North Jordan valley.

Nablus:

  • October 2nd 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a Bulldozer as it was working on paving a road in Sabastiya village for allegedly working in Area C {which is under Israeli Military administrative control}.
  • October 18th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated electronic equipment after storming and searching several media outlets during their raid into Nablus city.
  • October 24th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a bulldozer in east Beit Dajan village as it was working on paving a road because of its located in area C which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control.

Bethlehem:

  • October 3rd 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a tractor owned by Mahmoud Salah as he was working on his agricultural land during their raid into Al-Walaja village.
  • October 6th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Ibrahim Sami Al-Faghouri after detaining his son during their raid into Abu Najim village.
  • October 19th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Hanadi Al-Magharbi during their raid into Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city.

Hebron:

  • October 4th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a tractor owned by Mohammad Rumi during their raid into Yatta town.
  • October 4th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated 1000 NIS from the home of Ibrahim Abdel-Hameed Abu Mariya, 1540 NIS from the home of Maher Odah Sabarnah and surveillance camera footage from the home of Ali Ayad Awwad as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Beit Ummar town.
  • October 9th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated 30000 NIS after storming and searching the home of Khadija Jibril Musa Al-Ruba'i after detaining her during their raid into Yatta town.
  • October 15th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Salibi as they detained him during their raid into Beit Ummar town.
  • October 19th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated equipment owned by Saber Zamal Abu Mariya in Za'ta area located along road 60 in east Beit Ummar town.
  • October 20th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage after storming and searching the electricity company in Dura town.
  • October 24th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated 80000 NIS from the home of Mahmoud Masalmah during their raid into Beit Awwa town.

North Gaza:

  • October 15th 2017: Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat off the shores of Al-Waha area located in west Beit Lahiya town after detaining 4 fishermen.

Settlement Activity:

Jerusalem:

  • October 15th 2017: Israeli authorities announced the implementation for the construction of 2600 settlement units in "Givat Hamatos" settlement located in south Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.
  • October 25th 2017: Israeli authorities issued permits for the construction of 176 settlement units in "Nov Itsiyon" settlement located in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.

Bethlehem:

  • October 24th 2017, Israeli forces stormed Al-Walja village and installed a 10 meter long steel fence along the wall gate near the north entrance of the village near Al-Carmisan area.

Hebron:

  • October 16th 2017: Israeli authorities approved plans for the construction of 31 settlement units in the central bus station {Old Garage} located along Al-Shihada road in the old city of Hebron on land occupied in 1967.

Settler Violence

                  54 incidents of Settler violence occurred during the month of October 2017 including:

Jerusalem:

  • October 12th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers attacked several home and merchant shops in the old city of Jerusalem and in Wadi Al-Juz neighborhood.
  • October 22nd 2017: Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Police forces stormed Wadi Al-Rababa area located in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
  • October 25th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Jerusalem city and assaulted Rateb Alqam {A resident of Beit Hanina town} and as a result him hospitalized with a fractured arm.

Ramallah &Al-Bireh:

  • October 5th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Shilo" settlement stoned residents and vehicles travelling along {the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus} and as a result injured Mohammad Mahmoud Jarrar'a {A resident of Assira Al-Shamaliya town in Nablus district} leaving him hospitalized with a fractured skull as he was driving his vehicle.
  • October 13th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers positioned along the main road connecting Kafr Malik and Deir Jarir villager stoned residents and vehicles.
  • October 16th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Janiya village and stole Olive harvest owned by Ayad Mathloum.
  • October 25th 2017: Israeli settlers from "Halmish" settlement stoned several residents and farmers as they were collecting olive harvest on their land in Deir Nathim village near the settlement.
  • October 28th 2017: Israeli settlers positioned near "Bet El" settlement stoned residents and vehicles passing along the main road near the settlement.

Tubas:

  • October 10th 2017: Israeli settlers stormed Khilat Hamad area located in the North Jordan valley, chased away several farmers and shepherds from the area October 11th 2017: two Israeli settlers driving a motorcycle stormed Salhab area in North Aqaba town then withdrew at a later time.
  • October 12th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers driving a vehicle stormed Al-Buqi'ya and Einoun area's located in east Tubas city then withdrew at a later time.
  • October 22nd 2017: An Israeli settler from "Migola" settlement positioned near Ein Al-Bayda village in the North Jordan valley chased several school children near the settlement.
  • October 24th 2017: an armed Israeli settler from "Migola" settlement located near Ein Al-Bayda area in the North Jordan Valley region dug a trench between a local school and agricultural land near the school.
  • October 24th 2017: Israeli settlers from "Ro'i" settlement located in the area between Al-Hadideiya and Khirbniet Humsa villages in the north Jordan valley assaulted several residents as they were herding their goats in the area.
  • October 30th 2017: Israeli settlers stormed Mazqouh area in the North Jordan valley and kicked several residents from the area as they were herding their goats.

Tulkarem:

  • October 8th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli military forces stormed Babor Al-Biek area in Ramin village and performed Talmudic rituals.
  • October 13th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers driving 15 vehicles stormed Khirbeit Al-Hamam area located in east Al-Nazlah Al-Sharqiya village

Qalqiliya:

  • October 25th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Azzun town and chopped off the libs of several Olive trees owned by Abdel-Qadder Abu Haniya.
  • October 29th 2017: Israeli settlers stormed the west area of Jinsafut village and uprooted several Olive trees owned by Subhi Abdel-Raziq Obied and Abdel-Hafith Odah Abdel-Hafith

Nablus:

  • October 6th 2017: 2 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Ameir area in Azzmout village and attempted to abduct Ahmad Samara and his wife then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
  • October 7th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers from"Yitshar" settlement stormed agricultural land in Huwara town, attacked several residents who were collecting Olive harvest then withdrew at a later time.
  • October 10th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in south Birin village and uprooted 5 Olive trees owned by Hassan Bani Khalid Al-Shalatit {A resident of Burin village}.
  • October 10th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers positioned in the vicinity of Huwwara military checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles passing through the checkpoint
  • October 10th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Za'tara junction checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles passing through the checkpoint
  • October 11th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Kafr Qalil village and near "Huwara" Military checkpoint and chased out several farmers collecting Olive harvest
  • October 13th 2017: Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Qaryout village and stole 300 trees worth of Olive harvests owned by Jibril Musa and 120 trees worth of Olive harvest owned by other residents.
  • October 16th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Al-Sawiya village located near "Rahalim" settlement and stole Olive harvests owned by Ali Taher.
  • October 21st 2017: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitmar" settlement assaulted Jihad Wasef Ibrahim Mayadma {A resident of Yanoun village} as he was herding his goats.
  • October 22nd 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in east Burin village and stole Olive harvest then provoked several residents while they were collecting olive harvest in the area then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military
  • October 23rd 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Huwara town and provoked several residents who were collecting Olive harvest then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
  • October 24th 2017: The residents of Deir Al-Hatab village discovered that an Israeli settler from "Alon Moriya"settlement had pumped raw sewage from the settlement unto agricultural land in the village and as a result destroyed several agricultural crops during which Israeli forces prevented residents from reaching their land.
  • October 26th 2017: Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Deir Al-Hatab village, assaulted Jibril Abdel-Latif and his wife as they were harvesting Olives.
  • October 28th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitmar" settlement stormed agricultural land in Awarta village and stole Olive harvest owned by Attah Hassan Darwish.
  • October 28th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khirbiet Yanoun village then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
  • October 28th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Sawiya village, assaulted several residents as they were collecting Olive harvest during which Israeli forces assaulted Rana Al-Barq and an International Peace Activist assisting locals in Olive harvest.
  • October 29th 2017: The residents of the village of Jit, whose land is located near the settlement of Kedumim, were surprised when the Israeli occupation forces allowed them to reach their land planted with olive trees. The olive harvest was stolen by the settlers and a number of trees were destroyed by spraying them with chemical pesticides and diverting a sewage line from a mobile home inhabited by a settler to the land of the citizen: Omar Yamin.

Bethlehem:

  • October 9th 2017: Israeli settlers assaulted Mohammad Ibrahim Ahmad Abu Sabhiya in the area between Nihalin and Al-Ju'ba villages as well as smashing his vehicle windshield.
  • October 14th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers positioned along the main road near Al-Ju'ba village stoned residents and vehicles and as a result damaged 3 vehicles.
  • October 20th 2017: Israeli settlers from "Sedi Bughar" settlement outpost stormed agricultural land in Ein Al-Qassis area in Al-Khader town and assaulted Ibrahim Mohammad Saleem Subieh {A resident of Al-Khader town} as he was harvesting olives and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

Hebron:

  • October 5th 2017: Israeli settlers positioned near "Kiryat Arba'" settlement located in east side of the old city of Hebron stoned residents and vehicles and as a result injured a child leaving him hospitalized.
  • October 9th 2017: armed Israeli settlers stormed Um Al-Khier village located near "Karma'il" settlement located in Yatta town stoned residents and vehicles then threatened to open fire towards several vehicles.
  • October 14th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Tuwani village located near "Magon" settlement in south east Yatta town, threw glass bottles and stones towards homes and vehicles as they were heading towards a local mosque during which Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards residents as they attempted to prevent the settlers from attacking the mosque and left several of them suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • October 15th 2017: An Israeli settler positioned along Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron assaulted 2 children: Yara Ibrahim Ramadan {13 years old} and Ameera brahim Ramadan {10 years old} leaving them hospitalized with contusions.
  • October 21st 2017: a Israeli settler positioned in Um Al-Khus area located near "Mitspi Ba'ir" settlement located in south Yatta town installed a steel fence around a plot of land owned by Al-Hareni, Mar, Rashid, Abu Samara and Al-Nawaj'a families in an attempt to confiscate the land during which local residents were able to chase the settler away from the area.
  • October 21st 2017: Israeli settlers from "Ramat Yashay" settlement outpost located in Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron stormed Al-Ein Al-Jadida area {which an archaeological area}.
  • October 21st 2017: a group of armed Israeli settlers stormed el Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron and stoned several homes and slandered several residents in the area.
  • October 23rd 2017: Israeli settlers stormed Um Al-Kheir village near "Karmiel" settlement in east Yatta town and stoned several homes then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
  • October 25th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers from "Karma'il" settlement stormed Um Al-Khier village located in east Yatta and threw stones and glass bottles towards several homes in the area.
  • October 27th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in south east Yatta town and assaulted Ribhiya Raba'i and Ahmad Ibrahim Raba'i {17 years old} as they were collecting Olive harvest on their land near "Magon" settlement.
  • October 27th 2017: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Ras area in the old city of Hebron then stoned residents and vehicles.
  • October 30th 2017: Israeli settlers from "Magon" settlement located the south east entrance of Yatta town opened fire towards several farmer as they were collecting Olive harvest in Al-Hamra area located near Al-Tuwani village near the settlement.

 Closure of Crossing Points

The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 171 occasions during the month of October 2017. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 109 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 25 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 21 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.

 

 

 

The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 62 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
