The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 September 2021 to 30 September 2021. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of  September  2021

 

  • 9/01/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned at the entrance to the town of Beit Ur al-Tahta opened fire towards and killed Raed Yousef Jadallah, 39 years old - a resident of the town of Beit Ur al-Tahta.
  • 9/02/2021: the citizen: Amid Anan Mara’beh - was injured in the village of Fahma as a result of being bitten by trained (police) dogs while the occupation forces arrested his brother as they stormed and searched their house.
  • 9/02/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets , and tear gas canisters from their positions on the Green Line, towards the demonstrators near the border fence east of Jabalia camp, which led to the death of a citizen Ahmed Mustafa Mahmoud Musleh, 27, resident of Jabalia camp, and the injury of 10 civilians ( Including 2 children - one of them - with serious injuries, and a photojournalist), and a number of citizens - who suffocated as a result of inhaling tear gas.
  • 09/03/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces positioned in Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, wounding 12 civilians, and left 51 civilians suffocated due to inhalation of tear gas.
  • 9/07/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards participants in a demonstration against the attack on citizens and their property and the confiscation of land for the benefit of settlement projects in the village of Al-Tawani, east of Yatta and as a result left a number of them suffocated due to tear gas inhalation and also temporarily detained foreign solidarity activists and 3 citizens (including a journalist), and released them later.
  • 9/08/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned at the Bab al-Amoud area of ​​Jerusalem fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens, under the pretext that they had been stoned, injuring 3 civilians.
  • 9/10/2021:  The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects and as a result wounded 18 civilians (including a journalist) and left 97 civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
  • 9/10/2021: The civilian Doctor Hazem Al-Jolani, 50 years old, a resident of Shuafat neighborhood in Jerusalem was killed after he was shot by the Israeli occupation forces in the Old City of Jerusalem.
  • 9/13/2021: The Israeli occupation forces, present in the vicinity of Hawara Checkpoint, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards demonstrators for alleged stoning and as a result injured 10 citizens (including a journalist and a woman citizen), and left several others suffocated due to inhalation of tear gas.
  • 9/16/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning while raiding a number of houses and as a result left the infant baby baby girl: Sila Sami Abu Bakr (4 months old) suffocated due to inhalation of tear gas, and she was treated at the medical center in the town.
  • 9/24/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita, fired live ammunition and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects and as a result killed of Muhammad Ali Khabisa, 28 years old, from the town of Beita, injured 8 Citizens, and left 18 other civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
  • 9/26/2021: the Israeli occupation forces raided the city of Jenin and its camp, the town of Burqin and the village of Kafr Dan, where confrontations took place with the citizens during which they opened heavy fired towards a house while it was besieged in the town of Burqin - there were citizens (whom the occupation forces describe as wanted), and as a result killed 2 civilians (one of whom was seized by the Israeli occupation forces)  Osama Yasser Muhammad Sobh, 22 years old, and Youssef Muhammad Fathi Sobh, 16 years old - (both of them are residents of Kafr Dan village), 9 others were injured ,detained 2 civilians then withdrew at 08:00.
  • 9/26/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired and shelled at an agricultural room while besieging it in the Khallet al-Ain area in the town of Beit Anan and as a result killed 3 citizens: Ahmed Ibrahim Musa Zahran, 32 years old, Mahmoud Mustafa Abdel Fattah Humaidan, and Zakaria Ibrahim Saleh Badwan, 36 years old - (all of them are residents of Bedouin town). (who the occupation forces describe as wanted persons) were holed up inside.
  • 9/26/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning while escorting a group of settlers to visit (Joseph’s Tomb) and as a result injured 2 civilians (One of whom was run over by a military vehicle of the occupation forces) during their raid into city of Nablus.
  • 9/30/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned near Bab al-Silsila (one of the doors leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the Old City of Jerusalem fired at a female citizen: Israa Khaled Aref Khuzaymah, 30 years old, a resident of Qabatiya town, Jenin governorate, under the pretext of her attempt to stab a soldier, which led to her death.
  • 9/30/2021: Muhammad Muhammad Abd al-Karim Abu Ammar, 40 years old, a resident of Al-Bureij refugee camp was killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards him as he was hunting birds near the border fence northeast of Al-Bureij camp.

  • 09/01/2021: The Israeli occupation forces detained the citizen: Ikram Al-Wahidi - the director of the Young Muslim Women School, and the citizen - Rana Obeidat - an administrative employee, under the pretext of meeting with employees of the Palestinian Ministry of Education office, and released them at a later time.
  • 09/02/2021, the Israeli occupation forces detained a number of students, the director and teachers of Al-Sawiya Mixed School while they were leaving the school located along the main street of Nablus - Ramallah near the village of Al-Sawiya.

  • 09/14/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned at a checkpoint located entrance to Al-Shuhada Street in the old town of Hebron prevented the citizen: Mofeed Al-Sharbati from passing through the barrier to reach his home on Al-Shuhada Street in the Old City of Hebron, forcing him to sleep outside his house. For 5 hours near the checkpoint before letting him reach his home.

  • On 09/07/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the family of: Dweik, to demolish their 80-square-meter house themselves, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carry out the demolition operation, on the pretext of not being licensed.
  • On 09/21/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Jabal Al-Mukabber neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Muhammad Ouda Obedia to personally demolish two rooms attached to his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the Israeli occupation authorities carry out the demolition operation, on the pretext of not being licensed
  • On 09/27/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the village of Sur Baher forced the citizen: Kamel Abu Sarhan, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit.

  • 09/03/ 2021, a group of settlers in the Wadi Al-Faw area in the northern Jordan Valley built a settlement road that leads to the outpost that was established in the Abu Qandul area.
  • 09/05/ 2021,  the Israeli occupation forces razed the Martyrs Cemetery, which is part of the Yusufiya cemetery in the city of Jerusalem, in order to establish a “Biblical” garden and a public garden in the place.
  • 09/21/ 2021, a group of settlers from the outpost “Ibi Hanahel” built on the lands of Kisan village, south of Tekoa town, began constructing a settlement road about 2 km long and 4 meters wide in the mountainous lands overlooking Wadi Al-Hajar northwest of Kisan village, with the aim of Linking the settlement outpost to the industrial settlement zone established between the villages of Kisan and Miniyeh, which includes solar energy units and factories for the recycling of Israeli waste.
  • 09/22/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities razed the lands of the village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley, to establish a water tank in the place.

Killings

A total of 12 residents were killed by Israeli forces during the month of September 2021 {10 in the West Bank and 2 in Gaza}:

  • 09/1/2021: Raed Yousef Jadallah, 39 years old - a resident of the town of Beit Ur al-Tahta was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards his vehicle at the entrance to the town of Beit Ur al-Tahta.
  • 09/2/2021: Ahmed Mustafa Mahmoud Musleh, 27 years old, a resident of Jabalia refugee camp was killed during clashes with Israeli occupation forces near the border fence east of Jabalia camp.
  • 09/10/2021: The civilian Doctor Hazem Al-Jolani, 50 years old, a resident of Shuafat neighborhood in Jerusalem was killed after he was shot by the Israeli occupation forces in the Old City of Jerusalem.
  • 09/24/2021: Muhammad Ali Khabisa, 28 years old, from the town of Beita was killed during confrontations with Israeli occupation forces in Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita.

  • 09/30/2021: Israa Khaled Aref Khuzaymah, 30 years old, a resident of Qabatiya town, Jenin governorate was killed as result of being shot by the Israeli occupation forces near Bab al-Silsila (one of the doors leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the Old City of Jerusalem.
  • 09/30/2021: Muhammad Muhammad Abd al-Karim Abu Ammar, 40 years old, a resident of Al-Bureij refugee camp was killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards him as he was hunting birds near the border fence northeast of Al-Bureij camp.

Injuries

A total of 183 injuries were reported in the month of September 2021 {163 Palestinians in the West Bank and 20 in the Gaza Strip).

Including 9 children, 5 journalists, 2 Woman, 1 Fisherman and 1 Doctor.

Arrests

During the month of September 2021, the Israeli military arrested 372 Palestinians {366 in the West Bank and 6 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of 92 Jerusalem, 58 Ramallah, 49 Jenin, 3 Tubas, 13 Tulkarm, 15 Qalqilya, 17 Nablus, 15 Salfit, 10 Jericho, 30 Bethlehem, 63 Hebron. 1 North Gaza,4 Gaza and 1 Khan Yunis,

Among them: 34 children, 4 female citizens,2 patients with special needs, 1 journalist, 2 University Students and 2 Security Force Officers.

Closure

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of August 2021 ,the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 312 flying checkpoints in September 2021 (compared 321 flying checkpoints in August 2021 and compared 320 flying checkpoints in July 2021 and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

Raids

The Israeli military carried out a total of 323 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of September 2021, including 319 in the West Bank and 4 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (22); Ramallah (54); Jenin (72); Tubas (6) Tulkarem (16); Qalqiliya (13); Nablus (32); Salfit (12); Jericho (14); Bethlehem (43); Hebron (36), North Gaza (2), and Central Gaza (2).

Attacks

A total of 331 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of September 2021 (290 in the West Bank and 29 in the Gaza Strip) which included 56 from raids into Palestinian towns, villages and camps,234 from positions at Military checkpoints, 17 from positions at Military posts and 12 from Naval vessels.

Home Demolition

During the month of September 2021, the Israeli military demolished 7 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following: 

  • 09/01/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a house (under construction) owned by the citizen: Nasri Muhammad Attia Sobeih, in the village of Harmala, under the pretext of not having a license.
  • 09/01/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished, in the village of Beit Tamar, a house (under construction) owned by: Elyan Salah Zawahra, under the pretext of not having a license.
  • 09/01/2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished a house (under construction) owned by: Nasr Muhammad Hassan Abu Hamda, under the pretext of not having a permit.
  • 09/04/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Ayman Abu Hadwan to demolish his 50-square-meter house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities. under the pretext of not having a license.
  • On 09/07/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the family of: Dweik, to demolish their 80-square-meter house themselves, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carry out the demolition operation, on the pretext of not being licensed.
  • On 09/21/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the Jabal Al-Mukabber neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Muhammad Ouda Obedia to personally demolish two rooms attached to his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the Israeli occupation authorities carry out the demolition operation, on the pretext of not being licensed.
  • On 09/27/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in the village of Sur Baher forced the citizen: Kamel Abu Sarhan, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit

  • 09/08/ 2021,the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a bulldozer owned by the citizen: Naim Al-Khatib in the village of Beit Iksa, under the pretext that it was working on agricultural land near the settlement of “Ramot” established on the village lands.
  •  09/10/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities placed a decision on a plot of land in the Al-Bustan area in the Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem, a decision to confiscate it for use as a parking lot, on the grounds that the land is devoid of buildings.

Ramallah &Al-Bireh:

  • 09/02/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a private vehicle owned by the citizen: Hassan Shtayyeh after detaining him as they stormed and searched his home during their raid into the city of Ramallah .
  • 09/10/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a bulldozer (Bajr) owned by: Othman Mahmoud Othman - residents of Beit Ur al-Tahta town, while he was working to reclaim a piece of land owned by: Raif Muhammad Injas.

Jenin:

  • 09/26/2021, the Israeli occupation forces positioned at Barta'a checkpoint confiscated a private vehicle owned by: Wael Salman Sadiq Al-Sha'er -{a resident of Arrabeh town} as they detained him

Tubas:

  • 09/01/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces demolished 3 tents used as sheep pens, owned by the citizens: Muhammad Ali Nasrallah Al-Hroub, and Adel Nasrallah Al-Hroub in the village of Khirbet Ibziq in the northern Jordan Valley.

Nablus:

  • 09/01/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces in Duma village demolished an agricultural facility owned by: Abdullah Fares Salouda, and a water collection well owned by: Fahmi Shalouda, under the pretext of not having a license.
  • 09/23/2021.  the Israeli occupation forces in Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya village confiscated a bulldozer (Bager) while it was working to rehabilitate a road, and prevented the workers from completing work on the road inside the village.

Salfit:

  •  On 09/18/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a bulldozer belonging to the municipality of Qarawat Bani Hassan, while it was working to rehabilitate an agricultural street north of the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan,
  • On 09/19/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a bulldozer belonging to the municipality of Salfit, in the Al-Marahat area, west of the city of Salfit, while it was working in the reclamation of agricultural land.

Bethlehem:

  • 09/21/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a truck owned by the citizen: Murad Muhammad Al-Mahsiri,in the town of Al-Khader while it was working in the Abu Al-Soud area, west of the town, and transported it to the “Gush Etzion” settlement complex.

Hebron:

  • 09/05/ 2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a bulldozer near the settlement of "Nogohot", which is built between the towns of Dura and Beit Awa, while it was working on agricultural land owned by the citizen: Amir Muhammad Abu Rahma.
  • 09/20/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated 150,000 shekels from the home of Munir Farah Manasra, during his detention during their raid into town of Bani Naim.
  • 09/22/2021, he Israeli occupation forces confiscated an electricity generator owned by one of the families, in the Al-Musafer area near the village of Susiya, east of Yatta, which they used to light their homes.
  • 09/30/2021, the Israeli occupation forces confiscated a bulldozer (Bajr) owned by the citizen: Hamza Abu Saleh, while working in the reclamation of agricultural land owned by the citizen: Rami Saeed in the Ain Fares area, west of the town of Dura on the pretext that the land was under the control of the Israeli occupation.

  • 09/03/ 2021, a group of settlers in the Wadi Al-Faw area in the northern Jordan Valley built a settlement road that leads to the outpost that was established in the Abu Qandul area.
  • 09/05/ 2021,  the Israeli occupation forces razed the Martyrs Cemetery, which is part of the Yusufiya cemetery in the city of Jerusalem, in order to establish a “Biblical” garden and a public garden in the place.
  • 09/21/ 2021, a group of settlers from the outpost “Ibi Hanahel” built on the lands of Kisan village, south of Tekoa town, began constructing a settlement road about 2 km long and 4 meters wide in the mountainous lands overlooking Wadi Al-Hajar northwest of Kisan village, with the aim of Linking the settlement outpost to the industrial settlement zone established between the villages of Kisan and Miniyeh, which includes solar energy units and factories for the recycling of Israeli waste.
  • 09/22/ 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities razed the lands of the village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley, to establish a water tank in the place.

  • 09/12/ 2021,  a settler ran over while he was driving his vehicle in the Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem, the citizen: Walid Samir Abu Al-Hawa, resulting in him - fractures and bruises, and he was admitted to Al-Makassed Hospital for treatment.
  • 09/27/ 2021, an Israeli settler positioned in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood in Jerusalem fired indiscriminately towards school students while they were leaving the School Street.

Ramallah:

  • 09/10/ 2021. a group of settlers entered the Dahr Hashem area, located between the town of Turmusaya and the village of Al-Mughayer, and set fire to wood designated for construction, owned by the citizen: Munib Al-Masri.
  • 09/13/ 2021, a group of Israeli settlers from "Beit El" settlement threw stones at cars of citizens passing by on the main road adjacent to the settlement, leading to Jalazun refugee camp.
  • 09/24/ 2021, a group of settlers, accompanied by bulldozers, entered the Al-Ayoun area in the lands of Deir Ammar village, and bulldozed the citizens’ agricultural lands during which Israeli occupation forces fired indiscriminately towards the citizens while they were trying to confront the bulldozing work and as a result, the Israeli occupation forces intervened and evacuated the settlers from the place at 05:15.

Nablus:

  • 09/02/ 2021, a group of settlers from the settlement of "Yitzhar" entered the outskirts of Burin village, attacked the house of Ayman Soufan, and smashed the windows of two vehicles with stones.

  • 09/14/2021, a group of settlers in Jaber neighborhood in Hebron city threw stones and empty bottles at the homes of citizens in the neighborhood during which the Israeli occupation forces also intervened and fired rubber-coated metal bullets and stuns canisters towards citizens, while they were trying to confront the settlers.
  • 09/17/2021, a group of settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City of Hebron, attacked a number of citizens from the families of: Al-Muhtasib, Al-Bitar, and Qafisha, as a result left a number of them suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.

Closure of Crossing Points
