DAILY SITUATION REPORT

WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

On 17.07.2020, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Anata town and detained a resident.

Detention

1. On 17.07.2020, Israeli forces detained Amr Fawzi Muhisien {a resident of Shu'fat camp} in the old city of Jerusalem.
2. Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near the entrance of Anata town detained Mohammad Atef Rajab Mutier {a resident of Kafr Aqab town}.

House Demolition

On 17.07.2020,the Israeli military forced Mohammad Abu Turki to demolish his own home in Jabal Mukabir neighborhood in Jerusalem city in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carried out the demolition process, on the pretext of not licensing.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Raid

At dawn on 18.07.2020, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp and detained 3 residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Raed Ibrahim Al-Bayyari, Qusai Raed Barakat, and Abdullah Muhammad Sharaka in Al-Jalazoun camp.

Attack

At 17:00, Israeli forces positioned near Dier Nitham village fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

QALQILIYA

Raid

At 16:00, Israeli forces raided Azzun town.

Temporary Detention

At 02:00, Israeli forces temporarily detained 2 residents: Khalid Aqel Jum'a and his son Hariis {both are residents of Kafr Qaddum village} while they were working in land near Kedumim settlement then released them at a later time.

Attack

1.At 13:10,Israeli forces positioned near the eastern entrance (closed) in the village of Kafr Qaddum fired rubber-coated metal bullets and sound and tear gas canisters towards the protesting citizens, protesting the closure of the village entrance, on the pretext that they were throwing stones.
2. At 16:00,Israeli forces positioned at "Ayal" crossing point located in North Qalqiliya city fired rubber coated steel bullets,stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
3. At 16:25,Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of the Jaljulia checkpoint, southeast of Qalqilya, fired metal bullets coated with rubber and sound and tear gas canisters towards several residents on the pretext that they were throwing stones.

NABLUS

Settlers Attacks

1. At 11:50,a group of settlers placed mobile homes (caravans) in the Al-Harayq area, near the village of Deir Sharaf, in an attempt to establish a new settlement outpost. After that, the occupation forces intervened, evacuated the settlers, and removed the mobile homes from the place.
2. At 17:50,a group of settlers, with the protection of the occupying forces, installed 6 tents on the top of Mount Sobeih in the town of Beita, in an attempt to establish a new settlement outpost.

Attack

1. At 13:30,Israeli forces positioned near Assira Al-Shamaliya town fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents participating in demonstrations protesting against land confiscation for settlement purposes and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
2. At 17:50, Israeli forces positioned in Jabal Sbieh area located in Beita town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent Israeli settler who installed 6 tents on the top of the mountain in an attempt to establish a new outpost.

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 16:50,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Kafr Al-Deek town to search cars and check the identities of citizens.
2. At 20:05,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Kafil Harris town to search cars and check the identities of citizens.

JERICHO

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Fasayil village to search cars and check the identities of citizens.
2. At 20:05,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the North entrance of Jericho city to search cars and check the identities of citizens.

BETHLEHEM

Military Checkpoints

At 21:45,Israeli forces tightened their procedures at the (Al-Container) checkpoint, and impeded the movement of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 11:30,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jinata town then searched vehicles and checked the identities of citizens.
2. At 16:25,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Teqou' town to search cars and check the identities of citizens.

HEBRON

Raid

At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Dura town.

Attack

At 17:00,Israeli forces positioned in Bab Al-Zawiya area in Hebron city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result left them suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Settlers Attacks

On the evening of 17.07.2020, a group of settlers from Kiryat Arba, east of Hebron, attacked a number of citizens (including women and children) from the family of Saifan, and prevented them from reaching their homes in the Wadi Husain area.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on 26. 08. 2014 The permanent and comprehensive ceasefire came into effect on the initiative and sponsorship of the Arab Republic of Egypt, after reaching understandings to open the crossings and introduce humanitarian and relief assistance and reconstruction supplies, and to expand the area of fishing for 6 miles with an increase of up to 12 miles with At the end of this year, the area of the "buffer security" area will be reduced from 300 m to 100 m, freedom of movement and the prevention of assassinations, and the remaining issues, including the airport and the port, will be negotiated within a month of the ceasefire.

•Since the Morning of 28. 06. 2019 The occupying forces allowed the expansion of the fishing distance from the oasis area northwest of the town of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza and even to the port of Gaza by 6 nautical miles, and from the port of Gaza to the south of Rafah beach to 15 nautical miles.

• The occupation forces violated the ceasefire, with the gunboats shooting towards the boats of the fishermen in the open sea in North Gaza Governorate.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanoun Crossing - "Erez" on 17. 07. 2020 is closed (excluding the passage of emergency humanitarian cases).

Attack

On 17.07.2020,Israeli gunboats opened fire towards fishermen boats while they were chasing them at sea off the shore of the Sudanese area, west of the town of Beit Lahia.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Mantar-Karni crossing: closed since 02. 03. 2011 once and for all by unilateral Israeli decision.
* Shujaiya Crossing - "Nahal Oz" fuel crossing: closed since 04. 01. 2010 by unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

*Yasser Arafat International Airport is Closed.
*Sofa Crossing: closed.
* Kerem Shalom Crossing - Kerem Shalom on 17.07.2020 is closed (due to Friday holidays).
