The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 May 2022 to 31 May 2022. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations.. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

 

 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of  May  2022

05/05/2022: the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Dahr al-Ziyah area of ​​the town of Al-Khader, located between the settlement of "Daniel" and the settlement outpost "Sidi Boaz", assaulted two citizens: Issa Musa and Hassan Musa, while they were trying to confront a group of settlers who tried to seize about 60 dunums of their agricultural lands and as a result left them hospitalized with contusions. 05/06/2022: the Israeli occupation forces assaulted two citizens: Youssef Ahmed Youssef Jaradat and Omar Ahmed Mohamed Jaradat during their raid into Al-Silat Al-Harithiya town (as mentioned in the previous report). 05/08/2022: the Israeli occupation forces positioned near the racist separation wall in the city of Qalqilya, assaulted the citizen: Awad Mahmoud Abdullah Al-Ra’a, 53 years old - a resident of Bethlehem. 05/08/2022: The child: Mu'tasim Muhammad Talib Atallah, 17 years old - a resident of Harmala village was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards him present at the entrance to the "Tekoa" settlement. 05/08/2022: The civilian: Mahmoud Sami Khalil Aram, 27 years old - a resident of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip was killed after he was shot by the Israeli occupation forces at the Jabara checkpoint. 05/09/2022: the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas at the citizens, while they were trying to confront the demolition, injuring 3 citizens, and left 32 citizens sufffocated due to tear gas inhalation as they demolisjhed 2 houses (under construction) in the village of Beit Dajan 05/09/2022: the Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition ,rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards  citizens for alleged stoning, while they were escorting a group of settlers to visit Joseph's Tomb,  and as a result injured 14 civilians (including a child), and left 27 other citizens suffocated as a result of inhaling tear gas. 05/10/2022: The Journalist: Shereen Abu Aqleh, 51 years old - resident of Jerusalem (Al-Jazeera satellite correspondent) was killed after she was struck by a bullet as Israeli occupation forces deliberately targeted and opened fire towards a group of journalists despite the fact they were wearing helmets and uniforms identifying as journalists while they were near the schools of the UNRWA (UNRWA) in Jenin refugee camp. 05/11/2022: The child: Thaer Khalil Muslat Al-Yazuri, 16 years old (school student and football player) - a resident of Al-Bireh city was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards him during clashes in the vicinity of the entrance to the settlement of "Psagot", which is built on the eastern outskirts of the city of Al-Bireh. 05/11/2022:  the Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition towards citizens, as they surrounded and stormed a house located near UNRWA school in Jenin refugee camp during their raid into Jenin city and its camp, and as a result killed Shereen Abu Aqleh, 51 years old - resident of Jerusalem (Al-Jazeera satellite correspondent)and injured another journalist who was accompanying her. 05/12/2022: the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of the entrance to the settlement of "Psagot", which is built on the eastern outskirts of the city of Al-Bireh, fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning and as a result killed a child (a school student and youth football player), and injured another child. 05/13/2022: the Israeli occupation forces positioned in front of the French Hospital in Jerusalem, assaulted and attacked the participants in the funeral procession of the martyr: Sherine Abu Aqleh, and prevented them from carrying her coffin on their shoulders and attempting to bring it down on the ground, as a result of which 27 civilians were injured after they were assaulted with batons by the Israeli o0ccupation forces during which the body was later transported by vehicle to the Roman Catholic Church and then to its final resting place in the cemetery of Mount Zion in Jerusalem. 05/13/2022: the Israeli occupation forces positioned in front of the French Hospital in Jerusalem, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards towards the participants in the funeral procession of the martyr: Sherine Abu Aqleh, to prevent them from carrying her coffin on their shoulders and caused them to almost drop it on the ground, severely beat them with batons, which resulted in the injury of 33 civilians (6 of whom were taken to the hospital for treatment), and a number of citizens suffocated due to tear gas inhalation. 05/13/2022: The Israeli occupation forces in the town of Beit Hanina fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards demonstrators in front of the house of the martyr: Shireen Abu Aqleh, in protest against her assassination in Jenin camp (as mentioned in the previous report) and as a result injured 5 civilians (including a paramedic), and detained 7 civilians. 05/13/2022: during their the city of Jenin and its camp, the occupation forces fired live ammunition towards citizens for alleged stoning and shooting as they besieging a house in the camp, with the aim of detaining a citizen (whom the Israeli occupation forces describe as wanted), and they also bombed the house was fired with anti-armor shells, which set the house on fire, and 13 civilians were injured (including 2 seriously, 3 children). 05/14/2022: the Israeli occupation forces beat members of the family of the citizen: Sherif Al-Farroukh during their raid into the village of Al-Minya, south of the town of Tekoa. 05/15/2022: the citizen: Walid Al-Sharif, 23 years old - a resident of the town of Beit Hanina, died of serious injuries he sustained during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces as they stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque (as mentioned in a report on 04/22/2022) and from which he suffared from severe bleeding in the brain and fractured skull. 05/15/2022: The civilian: Daoud Muhammad al-Zubaidi, 43 years old - a resident of Jenin camp succumbed to his serious wounds in Rambam Hospital after injuries sustained during the raid the Israeli; occupation forces into the city of Jenin and its camp (as mentioned in a report on 05/14/ 2022), where he was transferred to Rambam Hospital as a result of his severe abdominal wounds, and the Israeli occupation forces also announced his detention while he was inside the hospital for treatment. 05/16/2022: the Israeli occupation forces detained the injured citizen: Nader Al-Sharif (who was seriously injured - suffocated due to inhalation of tear gas. 05/20/2022: the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, and as a result injured 9 civilians and left 28 others suffocated due to inhalation of tear gas. 05/20/2022: in the village of Beit Dajan, the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, and as a result injured 4 civilians, and left 21 other civilians (including a child) 7 years old) - a resident of Nablus was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards civilians during confrontations with in the city of Nablus. 05/25/2022: a group of Israeli settlers carrying Israeli flags was present on the main street in the center of Hawara town, and closed the street to traffic during which the Israeli occupation forces intervened and fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens, while they were trying to confront the settlers and as a result injured a citizen and left 51 others suffocated due to tear gas inhalation, and withdrew  05/27/2022: the Israeli occupation forces positioned near the eastern (closed) entrance in the village of Kafr Qaddoum, rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards at the demonstrators protesting against the closure of the entrance to the village, for alleged stoning and as a result injured 4 civilians and left 50 other civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation. 05/27/2022: he Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Umm Rakba area of the town of Al-Khader, fired live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens, under the pretext that they had been subjected to shooting and stones, which led to the death of a child (a school student and a football player), and also detained a child. 05/29/2022: The child - Zaid Muhammad Saeed Ghoneim, 14 years old (a school student and a football player) was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards civilians during clashes with the occupation forces in the Umm Rakba area of the town of Al-Khader. 05/29/2022: 79 civilians were injured (including one with live bullets, the rest with rubber-coated metal bullets, severe beatings and pepper spray - Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed.
